I don't think the method used for 2.1.1 is correct because this is not a quadratic equation because as u have written the formula for quadratic which is ax squared +bx+c and in this case our bx is an exponent not 2x not sure if you get what I mean. It is 2 to the power of x. But you were supposed to solve this equation by using the following method 4 to the power of X -2 to the power of x is=2 The answer is you write 4 in the form of 2 to the power of 2 in brackets multiply by x it you are going to get 2 to the power of 2x subtract 2 to the power of x which are like terms then you'll get 2 to the power of x =2, Since the bases are the same you can now equate the exponents which is x=1 I wish I was able to send you guys how I have worked it out so u guys can understand what I mean.but if someone understands what I mean can she or he clarify better
