Excellent lecture Ron. What textbook do you use for your course?

+Robert Kerestes A mix of textbooks have been used throughout - Fox and McDonald's Introduction to Fluid Mechanics, Frank White's Fluid Mechanics, and Munson et al's Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics.

Is y(cp) the distance between center of area and center of pressure?

respected sir. could you please post a video having more exaples on this "plane surface submerged in fluid topic? please. like five examples only.

I realise that this is a rather late reply, but if you are still interested in examples on submerged plane surfaces then I can recommend the strategies that are used in the book "Engineering Mechanics - Statics" by R.C. Hibbeler in chapter 9, section 5.
He uses a different method there where he first calculates the pressures at the top and bottom of the plate and then creates a "force per length" function and integrates that function to find both the resultant force and the center of pressure (basically, he finds the total area under that function and this area in square meters turns out to give the force in newtons).
He explains those procedures in detail in chapter 4, section 9.
