Thomas Bain was just a hero! The passes he build they are all just awesome. If only he knew how much pleasure he was creating for people in the far of future!
We did it today exactly a month ago in the opposite direction, 4 adventure bikes and one Harley Davidson XR1200 in street guise but with knobbly tires. Stopped at Angies for a refresher and then to George via Outeniqua pass. We were nearly ran over 3 times, twice by Honda Africa Twin riders and once by 2 caged 4 wheeled Audi vehicles whom all were cutting corners and drove like maniacs or maybe they were doing time trials on the gravel pass. Great video, liked it a lot. Also subscribed to your channel today 🤙👌
That is awesome! Hats off to whom ever was riding the HD! Not sure if I would take a HD down there. 🤣 yes the pass is an awesome ride but you have to keep an eye out for the trafic. We had one close call with a Land Rover also in a hurry! Well he was going down and maybe hes brakes just did not work anymore! 🤣🤣🤣 but awesome you guys did it and glad you enjoyed! 👍
Loving your videos. I think you guys are going to do well. All the best and please keep the videos coming. Will follow your adventures all the way👍🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much! Awesome to share our journey with everybody! Dont worry the videos will keep coming! The adventures has only started! Lots to come! 😁👍 Lets Goooo!!!
Love riding this pass, have ridden now 4 times. Recently did it for the first time in the rain, so sadly not able to enjoy the views as much. Stopped at the Spitzkop Viewpoint for the first time, amazing view point but rough road up.
Glad you enjoyed it! Think there are so many places on this planet that is amazing we just need to go and find them! We looking forward to one day riding in Norway! 😁
@@thetravelingtortoises - You have shown way more than one pass of your country 🙂. and I can't speak for USA, but if you turn your front wheel straight North and rides for approx. 10000 km. I can tell you about some good roads... 🤣
We drove on this pass exactly a month ago heading to Plettenberg and may I tell you it was quite unexpected, the navigator literally led us into this pass had no idea it even existed till then. It was just me my daughter and partner, it was very misty, so you can imagine how scary it was for us. Driving with a Suzuki ertiga with petrol petrol literally on 2 and half bars. 😂😂
With those huge drops without barriers I can imagine it must be scary, definitely with misty conditions! A nice adventure and something you will remember for a long time 😁
When I lived in Plett, a mate and I had a couple of girlfrends in Willowmore and Uniondale So we leave Plett at 4am, ride the pass, visit, then ride back. 14 years old, 2 up on his Honda 50cc. All in one day. Sometimes there was rain, once snow. The power of teenage hormones.
@@thetravelingtortoises You had a great day for the trip and the road was in pretty good condition. Back in 1960's was not always a popular journey... Blessings and safe travels.
Thank you! We are using the GoPro hero 10’s. And from season 2 we are also using an Insta360 x3 and 2 old GoPro hero 8’s for the more risky shots. But the prince Alfred pass was only the GoPro hero 10 👍🏻
Cool. I did this pass yesterday but did not film the ride, ao I looked for someone who had and found you two. What Garmin device is that the 700i Montana? Pls show what mount you have used that us secure enough for bike use
Hi and welcome to our channel and the adventure! We hope you will stay and enjoy it with us, so much more to come! I use the Garmin Montana 700i, the mount is a Vanasche mount and then the Garmin clamp on mount that comes with the GPS, the Garmin mount also supplies power to the Garmin. It works perfectly and super stable. You can get it from LocoMoto.
Sharpness
Phew that's quite a pass, stunning views
Thomas Bain was certainly a master pass builder

Thx for uploading. We're gonna go from Avontuur to Plett. What is the Venice weather app? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
🙈 i said ‘Werners weather app’… sorry! I think he uses windy most of the time
