Jonathan Butler, Earl Klugh, James Taylor. I grew up listening to these very brilliant musicians courtesy of my dad. Thank you dad for introducing me into the world of smooth jazz. Continue to rest in the Lord. I miss you!
Always love Jonathan Butler's playing. Everything about it. He is a master of the simple but perfect phrase. I can do clever stuff but I can never match the perfect thumb strokes he seems to do so effortlessly. And a great writer of memorable melodies with irresistible grooves to them. He deserves to be better known.
I’ve only just discovered Johnathan Butler this year, I heard falling in love with Jesus and couldn’t believe it wasn’t a young Stevie song. I sit and listen to it over and over, thank Jesus for blessing us with such a humble, sincere man.
The same words Jonathan Butler used to describe James Taylor's talent, on guitar and vocally - you can't separate the two, can also be said of Jonathan Butler. His guitar is his voice and his voice is his guitar!!! An amazing person...love him so much.
JB has a way of making you 'feel' his music. I mean feel it way down deep in my soul. Whatever he's playing, I know he MEANT THAT!! Amazing musical artist!
Coming way back in the 70"s listening and collecting his work. I still remember pictures of him and Lionel Peterson, Richard Jon Smith and Little Ronnie Joyce pasted on the walls of my room. If only I can go back there, for just one day🙏😢
He oughta be ashamed of himself. Like for real, there is no earthly reason why this man so freaking talented. One of my favorite vocalists and favorite guitarists rolled up in to one human being!!! Thats just disgraceful. In the BEST of ways. God bless you JB
Absolutely just made my day! JBs playing and singing is so deep! Since I heard is versión of No Woman No Cry years ago...I've been listening and learning from his playing! 💚
One of the greatest son with so much musical talent that, ever came from my city and country, and out of Africa, to America. After all you’re ours and regardless of what had happened we still love you Paulus & Nola.
Jonathan is probably my favorite musician. Just lobe hearing him sing and play! Also, having been to the D'Angelico headquarters and after having been treated exceptionally well there by the team, I must say, Jonathan and D'Angelico are made for one another! Angelic in all ways. Bravo!
This is just brilliant! Fantastic technique, absolutely beautiful interpretation of Fire and Rain from JT and Thank you for 7th Ave JB so full of heart and soul!!! You still have it and most importantly, thank you for sharing it with us!!! I need to see one of your shows again really soon!!!
For you gear guys out there which model D'Angelico guitar is that? I don't play guitar but love the sound and look of that instrument. Most importantly I love Jonathan's music and artistry.
@@81rbutler not just a while bro, but for decades. He became my treasure way back in 1987. I learnt through him that a lefty does not necessarily have to play a right handed guitar. I was having a hard time learning to play on a conventional right handed guitar, then I discovered through him that I can re-string my guitar to suit a lefty. Things became much easier from then on, and I'm a proud left-handed guitarist with a left handed guitar just like him.
7th Avenue is like...Gorgeous... like a really really graceful (and gorgeous ;) woman walking in downtown Paris in the afternoon , around 2pm, under an umbrella with a quiet, light rain keeping time with her footsteps as she walks in anticipation to meet her love for an espresso at a small cafe. Yes yes. That's what the music said to me this time...Jonathan is a true talent my friends.
It was 1987 when hew had that Hit "Take Good Care of Me"...so assuming he was 25 in '87, that was 35 years ago. So here he would be 60. OMG, I just looked it up.. He IS 60!
THE REASON WHY IT DON'T HAVE ALOT MORE VIEWS, IS BECAUSE IT WAS FOR A SPECIAL SELECTED FEW. IT WAS DONE FOR US.. WOW AWESOME SONG

Derick Virgil OMG! That's exactly how it feels! [Except I'm the woman lol] But beautifully put!
