The way the defendant dismissed his wife gave alot away about him.
I feel like he might be abusive to her behind the scenes, which might be why she just seems so nervous and passive especially when speaking around him. But that might just be me.

I agree that the landlord was a little nit picky with his list, but other than that, seems like a very good landlord. He didn't raise the rent for three years, plus (it appears) he never charged them an extra pet deposit. These tenants were just ridiculous, and Judge Faith could not have been more fair with her verdict!
I thought he deserved more money.He spent over 8k, even excluding the wear n tear things from his list he still deserved 5k.
The landlord bloated his list... if he hadn't tried to pull that, he would have gotten a couple thousand more.

Some people don't know when they have it good. I have a wonderful landlord, been with him for almost 20 years and he's a kind hearted person and I will never take advantage of him.

I get where the Judge is coming from about his list, but personally, if I'm moving out...I'm going to go out of my way to make sure that the landlord has as little to do in terms of replacement costs & cleanup as possible - like replacing dead bulbs and making sure the windows are clean...maybe that's just me though

I just wanted to put my comment down for Judge Faith so I just picked any clip. Judge Faith I am so proud of you as many others are too. Just to be as young as you are to be so very well knowledgeable in law and speaks it so eloquently it's apparent it's in your head and don't need a teleprompter to help you along. You go girl. I just hope young girls are seeing this to aspire to higher goals as you have. I'm telling you when I was your age if I had seen a role model my age doing what you do I would have went that way too. She doesn't need my opinion, but I think that was excellent decision-making by Judge Faith.
I believe the male Defendant may have a social disorder and possibly on the spectrum. It could explain his need to defend himself with every question. Even those not directed to him. I believe Judge Faith probably had a understanding or a feeling that this man may think differently or will behave differently so that's why she was so patient. But you can only be so compassionate until you feel like you are being overpowered. That's why she started to lay down the law on him. His wife may also be on the same page as him which would explain why she didn't want to speak up until she thought she needed to. She was also reading into the situation and that's why she was trying to pull her husband back behind the podium. With all this being said, I still think the male Defendant is a controlling ass and I feel sorry for his wife and their son. I can tell that he has anger issues and doesn't like to be told to be quiet...
I have a very on the spectrum brother. This is not that. Not at all. And if he has a social disorder he’s responsible for his behavior still. Just as anyone with bi polar, manic depressives, addicts, BPD, etc. A mental disorder doesn’t excuse poor behavior. Or poor treatment of a spouse which seems pretty ongoing.
