Sometimes emotions can cause cussing stress build up just sometimes we make mistakes no one is perfect so it's best not to judge for my self I will leave the judging up to my high power and remain humble & be more understanding... Technically the monthly rent is for maintaining the property and earning a living, while the retainer or security deposit is for any damages and repairs due to the tenants causing damage. Some general cleaning and changing of light bulbs is needed but that isnt the tenants responsibility - although in Japan, where i used to live, landlords can ask you to pay 'key money' which is a non-refundable amount and decide whether to use some or all of your deposit for cleaning fees - some will even charge extra for cleaning. In the UK, i was deducted money because they said a table was dusty and under one of the beds needed vacuuming... some landlords will just add anything to the list.
