    Your garden is magnificent! And what a great demonstration of how simple it is to propagate a favourite of mine. 🙏⭐️🌞

    Thank you for that I found the answer to how you got on with them in the comments. I will be doing this now instead of throwing all my cuttings away

    To encourage rooting, one can damage or 'scrape' the part below ground with a Stanley knife etc ... it works a treat.

    How long before they root? Will they overwinter, or do you need to keep them in cold frame? How long to flowering?

    Hi Larry. Loved your clear demonstration. Which usually works best. A green wood cutting of hard wood?. Also when should the cuttings be best planted out? TIA

      I think he means cut a piece from the main stem. But trim it to where it's only the area where the shutters are coming out. So it's only a little bud of the main stem. Spring is good to plant. Just be careful of late frost, and to protect them if there is.

      Well done so far. Take good care for next 4 months before potting up into a good quality compost and planting out in individual pots. No growth hormone needed, just a little garden fertalizer mixed in to potting compost.

      i work for "Willowbank Organic Producers Ltd" where we also propagate herbs for sale to the public for consumption. I have found that cuttings root perfectly well with aid of bottom heat without the use of a rooting hormone agent

    Hi there Larry, how many years before a cutting will actually flower.

    • @larrygollogly2493
      @larrygollogly2493  3 года назад +6

      Depends on the type of plant you took the cutting from, if the parent plant already produced flowers you may get flowers in 1 year but in some cases it can take up to 5 years.

      I bought a well established wisteria, planted it out and it took ages about 2 years to come to flower. Worth it in the end.

    No results, just like most videos on wisteria cuttings. They're not easy, so this makes me think that you guys are not getting the results you claim if you can't wait a month to show if you succeeded.
