The only reason why his ring finger was cut during the bathhouse assassination was because of the way the target was grabbing Bayek's hand. The assassins started cutting their ring fingers to not have a similar accident and for tradition. Altair was able to make the hidden blade completely safe even when encountering situations like Bayek's.
The tradition and sacrificing of the ring finger became the main reason but also for practicality, as cutting your finger off on mission would leave you in a bad spot. To activate the hidden blade with ease you have to make a fist and then tense the forearm. The problem with wearing the original hidden blade on the underside of the forearm was the blade moved faster than the wielders fist and therefore likely to cut the ring finger off. Altair fixed this by extending the distance of the hidden blade further away from the forearm so the fist was completely out of the way. When Aya gave Bayek the hidden blade she made sure his fingers were extended and not in a fist, that is how he could use the hidden blade. It's quite hard to tense your forearm when your fingers are extended and that's why Bayek made a fist shape and got his ring finger cut off. It's a lot easier to tense your forearm with a fist and therefore making it easier to wield a hidden blade consistently and under pressure.
For all we know there is a slight chance Kassandra witnessed the events of every game in person. Like going to ancient egypt, then going to Iraq's golden age, then in Norway, seeing Altair in the AC1 events till his old age, same for Ezio in AC2, Went to the west indies then America, went to france, then England till end of WW1 then back in the US

There was never actually a time where you HAD to take your finger to use the blade. Leonardo modified the blade to prevent there ever being an accident where it would be ACCIDENTLY cut off. Previous assassins/Hidden ones did it out of sacrifice and respect for the blade and what it entails.
As a possible explanation for the modified hidden blade a few options 1: this was a design they had but chose to switch later back to the required finger sacrifice 2: Kassandra constantly interacting with isu artifacts allowed her the intellect to modify the blade which i have theoriezed is how altair made the glove gun so early in history and also how da vinci in the ac universe managed to finish his design for a tank and other war weapons in ac brotherhood Since apples are so powerful gaining some intellect from them is believable 3: they just forgot about the rule in ac 1 where the blade was made to cut off your finger basically making you cut it off Also i don't believe Kassandra is a mary sue And some of the checks dont add up to me Alot of the ac characters and most characters in fiction take up some of those checks Although i did think it was kinda funny Anakin and luke had checks on the mary sue board that was kinda funny and i see your a star wars fan so good to know your a man of culture

Thank you for this comment because I forgot Kassandra might of used one of the twenty apples she found lol The Mary Sue thing is mostly a joke, I thought there were some similarities between her and Rey across each of their stories (lack of training, doesn’t lose fights against more experienced opposition, doesn’t evolve over the course of the story personality wise, lack of adversity to make the audience worried that the character is outmatched and soon to meet their end). But it does depend how you play as Kassandra since you could have a Kassandra who’s messes up all the time or one that is perfect, just depends on the options the player selects. As for the Hidden Blade, I think the Lore behind it is like this now: Pre-Origins, the "Proto-Assassins" didn't have to cut their ring finger off. But then Origins happens and Bayek accidently cut his ring finger off with the blade. After he creates the Hidden Ones, while he tells his apprentices that they don't have to cut off their fingers, they still do it, because they want to show their admiration and dedication to their new master and creed. So as decades and centuries gone by, the Hidden Blades gets a design change and the blade goes through the ring finger's place. Until Altair's Mentor years, when he redesigns the blade basically back to it's original form, so it won't be necessary for the future Assassins to cut off their fingers. But even after Ezio and Da Vinci gets the codex pages and starts to spread the word about the new blade designs across Europe, there are still Brotherhoods out there, who - even to this day - don't want to change it. Brotherhoods like the Spanish one - as we can see in the Movie - still keep the finger remove tradition even after Ezio visited them during the 1490's.
Kinda it's more that Altaïr perfected the hidden blade design over the years to avoid cutting your finger and Leonardo fixed Ezio's hidden blade using Altaïr's schematics in the codex page👍
It's pretty insignificant compared to everything else that comes with living for thousands of years, but something that blew me away was thinking about the fact that Kassandra was the first (and only, until Basim, and even then he was out of it for ages) AC protagonist to live long enough to see media made based on the history and mythology of the era and world she came from. She was alive when movies like 300 (and the '62 film The 300 Spartans), Clash of the Titans, Jason and the Argonauts, Troy, and Disney's Hercules came out, and it's entirely possible that she watched them. I'd love to know what Kassandra thought of 300 and The 300 Spartans, since they're both about her grandfather. And as for Disney's Hercules, I can see the funny writing and the wiiiiiiiiild liberties the movie takes with Greek Mythology making her laugh her ass off.
I feel like her being somewhat Immortal is kind of a retcon, because think of this if she was around and heard about the solar flare she could have used her time to prepare for it without Desmond needing to sacrifice himself and plus releasing Juno.

We have to remember the only reason Bayek lost his finger (and accidentally started that tradition) was because he had his fist clenched when he used it for the first time to kill a Order of Ancient member. But when he practised using it when Aya gave it to him, he never lost his finger cuz he made sure to be mindful not to have them in the way.

Kassandra was the original canon protagonist for oddessy . There was a guy at ubisoft who had veto powers to cancel any game he didnt approve of ( probably why they were all so similar at that point ) he told them to add a male protagonist ( the game was 80% complete at that point ) saying " females dont sell games " he was invited to leave after a bit of a scandal and Ubisoft delayed ALL game releases for a year at that point so they could be reworked .

Altair segment I did not mention time travel at all🤦♂️. Kassandra was alive and able to meet every protagonist in the series, so is meeting Altair unlikely when Altair was alive and without using time travel, I don’t believe that’s unrealistic. Hidden Blade segment Kassandra had a hidden blade and all of her fingers when meeting Eivor, which was over 3 centuries before Altair created the adjusted hidden blade that does not require a ring finger sacrifice. So I’m curious to how she managed it, or does she risk losing a finger like Bayek every time she uses it. Conclusion Listening skills are key in life and I recommend you work on them throughly.
I really wish they had not killed her off in favor of Layla. She could have been a super cool recurring character/ally/possible enemy depending on what protag is doing/protagonist. I really hope ubisoft will do Kass justice and give her, at the very least, her own trilogy because she has more then enough years under her belt to warrant a few more games with her starring. And I would love a game with her as the solo protagonist so that everything in it can be written around her, and people around her can actualy react to the fact she is a women. Overcoming Muslim, restoring the Creed back to its right path after its corruption from Abbas’s influence, and placing the creed back into the shadows instead of fancy castles so they can better be able to protect the people, and not become like the pompous greedy rulers Abbas was, or the very ones the creeds supposed to protect the people from, just as Bayek and Aya did after there betrayal from Cleopatra and Ceaser. He’s the reason the creed as we know it survived to the present day, and was able to continoue the correct path, protecting the free will of the people. If you compare that to Kassandra, of course there are major differences especially with her longevity. But that shouldn’t matter. That shouldn’t render his actions as meaningless. Cuz even though he didn’t live as long as her, what matters in the end was the good he could do in his lifetime, and what it meant for the future of the creed, and the world.

Well she had all the time in the world so she might have figured out a way to keep her middle finger by studying the isu artifacts she acquired and also how the blade works. She might even have given Altair the idea because during the events of AC 1, she was around 733 years old. Also Altair modified the blade so removing a finger won't be necessary because of practicality and to blend in better. Because you know missing a finger makes it too obvious :D Templars may be cocky but they aren't stupid. I think Kassandra was kind of watching from the shadows and only made herself known if she felt like her help was needed or she felt like she had to intervene.

It's pretty insignificant compared to everything else that comes with living for thousands of years, but something that blew me away was thinking about the fact that Kassandra was the first (and only, until Basim, and even then he was out of it for ages) AC protagonist to live long enough to see media made based on the history and mythology of the era and world she came from. She was alive when movies like 300 (and the '62 film The 300 Spartans), Clash of the Titans, Jason and the Argonauts, Troy, and Disney's Hercules came out, and it's entirely possible that she watched them.
I'd love to know what Kassandra thought of 300 and The 300 Spartans, since they're both about her grandfather. And as for Disney's Hercules, I can see the funny writing and the wiiiiiiiiild liberties the movie takes with Greek Mythology making her laugh her ass off.

she may have gotten an updated hidden blade from Ezio's brotherhood, as this version would not require a loss of the finger thanks too Leonardo deciphering the codex for Ezio, but Then isn't the Valhalla free DLC set before AC2?, so who is to say she didn't come across the same codex blueprint as Ezio had, or even written that blueprint onto the codex for Evio's father to find century's later
The codex was made by Altaïr, so those designs wouldn’t have yet existed AC Valhalla. She likely learned how to be mindful not to lose her fingers when using the blade. We have to remember the only reason Bayek lost his finger (and accidentally started that tradition) was because he had his fist clenched when he used it for the first time to kill a Order of Ancient member. But when he practised using it when Aya gave it to him, he never lost his finger cuz he made sure to be mindful not to have them in the way.

There was a guy at ubisoft who had veto powers to cancel any game he didnt approve of ( probably why they were all so similar at that point ) he told them to add a male protagonist ( the game was 80% complete at that point ) saying " females dont sell games " he was invited to leave after a bit of a scandal and Ubisoft delayed ALL game releases for a year at that point so they could be reworked .

Altair segment
I did not mention time travel at all🤦♂️. Kassandra was alive and able to meet every protagonist in the series, so is meeting Altair unlikely when Altair was alive and without using time travel, I don’t believe that’s unrealistic.
Hidden Blade segment
Kassandra had a hidden blade and all of her fingers when meeting Eivor, which was over 3 centuries before Altair created the adjusted hidden blade that does not require a ring finger sacrifice. So I’m curious to how she managed it, or does she risk losing a finger like Bayek every time she uses it.

I really wish they had not killed her off in favor of Layla. She could have been a super cool recurring character/ally/possible enemy depending on what protag is doing/protagonist. I really hope ubisoft will do Kass justice and give her, at the very least, her own trilogy because she has more then enough years under her belt to warrant a few more games with her starring. And I would love a game with her as the solo protagonist so that everything in it can be written around her, and people around her can actualy react to the fact she is a women. Because time periods are not going to get more progressive as she goes foreward for a good long time.

Her being in the game shouldn’t take away what Altaïr accomplished. Overcoming Muslim, restoring the Creed back to its right path after its corruption from Abbas’s influence, and placing the creed back into the shadows instead of fancy castles so they can better be able to protect the people, and not become like the pompous greedy rulers Abbas was, or the very ones the creeds supposed to protect the people from, just as Bayek and Aya did after there betrayal from Cleopatra and Ceaser. He’s the reason the creed as we know it survived to the present day, and was able to continoue the correct path, protecting the free will of the people.
If you compare that to Kassandra, of course there are major differences especially with her longevity. But that shouldn’t matter. That shouldn’t render his actions as meaningless. Cuz even though he didn’t live as long as her, what matters in the end was the good he could do in his lifetime, and what it meant for the future of the creed, and the world.
Very few know this but Kassandra is also in the new AC codename jade game which takes place in the 3rd century B.C. Although briefly.

I felt Kassandra was better suited to be the protagonist rather than antagonist of Odyssey, anyways. I found it weird to call her Demois than Alexios. Well she had all the time in the world so she might have figured out a way to keep her middle finger by studying the isu artifacts she acquired and also how the blade works. She might even have given Altair the idea because during the events of AC 1, she was around 733 years old. Also Altair modified the blade so removing a finger won't be necessary because of practicality and to blend in better. Because you know missing a finger makes it too obvious :D Templars may be cocky but they aren't stupid. I think Kassandra was kind of watching from the shadows and only made herself known if she felt like her help was needed or she felt like she had to intervene.
I think after collecting enough isu objects she went dormant along with them and created a place even safer than atlantis may be that took way more years than she is on ground and that may be why she came at odyssey timeline animus so that she can finally rest and must have missed because the hidden ones are doing pretty good and she trusted them to handle the order and she pulled the plug on the root cause the order tries for being gods ....
