If you like city's with little canals and rivers you should come to Holland and Utrecht specifically. The city is very nice with lots of bars and restaurants at the waterside. And you can tke a trip up the river vecht for some very beautiful spots.

But since you seem to like architecture you'll definitely would have loved it. The boats pass by the famous buildings and you really get a unique perspective of the city.
