it would make sense that a place with german and french influence would have a language that has many similarirties to english because modern english is basically a hybrid of old germanic languages and french latin infulences. vsauce explained it once.
Bicky Burger: a deep fried burger, made from a mix of chicken, pork and horse meat Bicky Dressing: a sauce made from cabbage, cauliflower, mustard, dragon fruit, onion and cucumber. Dodger ate a horse. :P
Double-length coffeh time! Wewt. Dodger, is there any chance of you editing together all of your Instant Coffeh videos into one RUclips video and putting that up on this channel?
Thank you for visiting our tiny little country! GO DUVEL! too bad you didn't visit Gent in december, because we go bonkers with the christmas decorations; just google it, it's the most beautiful thing!
Dexbonus If you wonder why Dutch and Flemish sounds similar to English, I can explain why. In the 16th century the Netherlands were very important in sailing. Because in that century sailing was very popular and also very important for the economy, the Netherlands had a big influence on the whole world. Most of tem are gone, but some of them secretly remain. There's also the reason that English and Dutch are both originated as a German language.
The 'Hent' pronounciation is typical for that part of the country's dialect as they pronounce most G's as H's and tend to get a lot of flack for it :P Being from the other side of the Flemish part of Belgium myself I don't pronounce it that way.
well a lot of the languages in europe share the same roots in latin and greek, and also if a language doesn't have words for something they'll usually use the english, so it's no surprise that a lot of the words are similar
Hey , great to see you had a good time in Belgium , Gent it's a great fun city that looks cool and lot's of friendly people :-) yes finally someone knows that fites aren't from France . The "rode neuzen" aka red noses are mmm , and you tasted Duvel , again mmm :-) I'm from the dutch speaking part , we are a small country and we have lots of beers , chocalte , frites so it couls be worse :-) it's strange that just today i found your video about Belgium , just on this very dark sad day for Belgium , so in all this sadness and dark day i did find by luck your video about us and it made that light shine a bit brighter . Greets !!
Glad you had a great trip! Europe is so beautiful. I love your rendition of the plane bear story. TIL french fries originated in Belgium. Relax that brain! :)
If you like that fairytale feeling, you should come visit Bruges (Belgium)! It kinda feels like you are in a medieval city, well it's great to know you enjoyed our country :)
I love traveling. Especially overseas...well, the actual travel part, not so much. Visiting other countries is great and everyone should be lucky enough to experience it. :)
Wb dooger! Glad to know that the next Friendzone will be back in your hands :) Any chance of a Hearthstone Vid? (in preparation for the supposed Polaris Hearthstone Championship) If so, promise us you will at least buy about >20 card packs to keep up with TB and Crendor. Any way enjoy your rest and look forward to more ButtBag or Hearthstone ;)
i have tested Dragon commander for larian studio in Ghent it was so fun but i guess that you have tested the original sin right? i' am from Belgium by the why. it is lovely how you speak of Belgium
You should visit Bruge (Brugge) and Mechelen if you visit again......you aint seen nothing yet ;-) As you said Belgium is indeed a very beautyful country and their people are very kind. I hope you will love your other visits as well.
The difference between flemish and dutch is the same like british- and american english. Normally you understand, but there are parts, which are "weired"
yep over a distance of 150 km you have 4 languages, like antwerp, brugge, oostende, flemish from east and west, limburgs, apart from french, even for me Gent is hard to understand sometime, but I'm from Antwerp, only antwerp people can understand, and yes Belgium is mellow
I didn't know bears could hijack a plane. Do these type of bears have the ability to fly and hold on to an airplane? That kid told an interesting story. :P
You and Jesse were both away and not making videos.... TB barely made videos, ALL OF MY SUBSCRIPTIONS HAD NO VIDEOS D: Had to watch old videos.... then wanted to see the next part but there was no videos. ;( Thank god you and jesse are back :)
Bicky burgers are usually mystery meats, like leftovers thrown together with some starch. What makes it a "bicky" burger is the 3 sauces, the red, yellow and green one. I love your pronunciation of "Gent"! I had no idea that tuna pizza was a Belgian thing. I find it rather disgusting! You should try speculoos spread, you can get it in the US nowadays. In risk of sounding horribly sexist: your appreciation for Duvel is quite surprising. It's generally considered a macho, manly beer. I'm not too fond of it myself, it's a bit too much of a "meal" for me. But if you want, I can send you some similar beers that aren't as easily available in the states as Duvel is. Do note that the Duvel Double they sell in the US is very different: Regular Duvel ferments a third time in the bottle, making it a lot "heavier". Duvel Double is only fermented twice and resembles a regular pilsner, sorta kinda. Hope I don't miss out next time you're in the Belgiums! :)
Sorry to say but if a bear is chasing you you are probably dead. If you see a bear out on the open then you can try to play dead, make yourself look bigger and make loud noises (if there is no cubs) or hide. But once its going for you just keep running.
Loved to hear this coffee time at my work to hear everything about the country next to me haha :D

Yes, I see. So that's how it is (ironically)
The 'Hent' pronounciation is typical for that part of the country's dialect as they pronounce most G's as H's and tend to get a lot of flack for it :P
Being from the other side of the Flemish part of Belgium myself I don't pronounce it that way.

Flemish sounds similar because it is a germanic based language. Italian, French, Spanish, are all Romance languages. Based on Latin.
If you like that fairytale feeling, you should come visit Bruges (Belgium)! It kinda feels like you are in a medieval city, well it's great to know you enjoyed our country :)

your pronounciation of Gent is pretty good actualy :p
The persons in ghent speak a dialect, so thats why its hard for you to duplicate
Most of flanders speak their dialect
Not me ;)
Ok :-)
The difference between flemish and dutch is the same like british- and american english. Normally you understand, but there are parts, which are "weired"

Thank god you and jesse are back :)
Dodger, the reason dutch can sound like english is because they're both germanic languages. You can look it up on Wikipedia. :)

Bicky burgers are usually mystery meats, like leftovers thrown together with some starch. What makes it a "bicky" burger is the 3 sauces, the red, yellow and green one.

Naps, you gotta love 'em :)
Duvel is nice indeed and there's nothing wrong with avoiding the French speaking part
Plane Bears are real serious.
Sorry to say but if a bear is chasing you you are probably dead. If you see a bear out on the open then you can try to play dead, make yourself look bigger and make loud noises (if there is no cubs) or hide. But once its going for you just keep running.
You need to come to Australia
