People don’t like the new engines because they put plastic in them. I’m not a bike mechanic, but I’ll tell you that on small engines used on equipment, the plastic part is what fails first in an engine. Ask Honda.

Love your videos! They really help me as a prospective rider get a feel for bikes! If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you and what's your inseam? I'm in a place right now (overseas, stuck on base) where I can't put my butt in bikes to see what they feel like so I'm just watching all your videos, waiting for next year when I can start learning.

Thanks, that helps a lot! I'm 6'3 with 38" inseam (I'm all legs) so that gives me a great idea of where to start. Looking at used KLR 650s since adventure bikes in general seem better suited and not too powerful to start with.

Few things - 1) seems to run good for an older bike. 2) The handle bars are ridiculous - I just don't like the high bars at all. 3) Finally, how are your eyes doing??

EVO is a great engine with plenty of power. If you're in a hurry by a metric bike.

Beautiful bike. I ride a ninja 300 but am looking to get a cruiser as my next bike. Not too sure where to go. I love the softails but as a first cruiser I don't think its realistic. Also looking at the iron 883, and the honda shadow 750 phantom. I want a bike that is comfortable to ride on that I won't outgrow. Any suggestions?

Like your bikes but on your test rides we only see the road not the bike. Maybe you could spend a little more time showing the bike and a little less on the ride. By the way as commented below 1998 was last year of EVO motor in touring bikes. That looks like an EVO motor so it is not a 2000.

Srk you're riding a 1997 evo,80ci, 88b came out in 1999,I have a 2000 heritage Softail classic 88b 73055 as my starter bike,a poor man's road king ,one day soon I'll find a road king with low miles and I'll be taking long rides nothing better than a Harley Davidson
