After watching this video, will you start a blog, podcast, or RUclips channel in 2023?

RUclips is where I plan to start in 2023. Thanks for mapping out the pros and cons of all three platforms so clearly. Your channel has helped me beyond measure. Happy New Year!

You've got me thinking about starting a RUclips channel- again 😆 Would you recommend copying the audio from RUclips videos and transferring it to podcast platform? Thanks, Fiona (Brisbane, Australia)

As an artist, RUclips is my medium of choice. I also use Substack as a blog and a way to build an email list and connect with like-minded souls; it appears a lot of like-minded souls who love long-form content actually hang out there too.
For me, the two go hand in hand. I send out monthly letters that also include the YT video. I've started to turn my YT video into podcasts as well that get integrated into Substack for the people who don't wanna watch the video.
As an artist, content creation is not my primary driver. Rather, my art is. And I build the content around that. I know I am in it for the long haul so I've found a rhythm that works for the life I am creating. It may be slow growth but I find, whilst I'm experimenting and finding my feet, I don't mind the slowness of it. So I guess you could say I utilize all three and make it work for me without burning myself out. Thank you for the pros and cons list.

Super helpful. As I've drilled down further into my idea, I'm seeing a stronger case to start with RUclips rather than a podcast. Thanks for the video!

Thank you so much! I have a business now that I want to tone down and offer a Blog or RUclips. I started a little blog on my website. But really want to almost go exclusively to a blog/YT on where I want the business to go. I have a hard time just starting.

I haven't watched the video yet, but just wanted to say, this is perfect timing! I just started working on my new RUclips channel yesterday. Also considering a blog and a podcast because, why not? When making YT videos, I start by writing a script (well, actually, I start by doing hours of research, but you know what I mean! lol). Then, I record a video.
My thought is, the script can be easily converted to blog post text. Images used in the video can double as images for the blog. The recorded video can easily be converted to an audio file for a pod cast.
Can't wait to hear what Rachel has to say. 😃

You nailed it! I touch on all of those points while talking about how to repurpose your RUclips videos for other platforms and mediums. I hope you find the video useful, and wishing you all the best with your channel in 2023?

  • @warnacreamadeicecreamskool6305

I do feel RUclips is more tiring but the visual helps. Sometime i put subtitles or summary in words + visual that helps people to understand more. Especially i have pronunciation problem on certain words. And yes we can also cut the video to put on instagram reels and even tiktok

New forms of media, like podcasts, tend to have an edge over traditional media because they're tailored to meet specific needs for the modern age. 0:13

Great content and advice. I was going to say I was more confused on what I wanted to do but you answered it for me when you asked “What are your strengths and what do you want to commit to doing because it’s a commitment.” My strength is writing. I’m also an avid Lifetime TV and LMN movie fans, but I enjoy movies period. That’s where I’m struggling on which to write on. Any advice there?

Hello, thank you for this video and the great information shared. I am an international award winning author for my hkstorical fiction novel - Daggers Of Treason, for which I have researched extensively. I am now on the verge of starting a RUclips channel, but I am a dinosaur with all things digital! I have definitely enjoyed your video and hope that I can discard my apprehensions and get on with a RUclips channel. Wishing you great success with your videos. Warm regards. This is the dilemma. I like listening to podcasts, don’t want to make one.
RUclips is probably best because they’ll be adding the podcasts tab sometime soon, so you can have basically all of this on one platform.
