Im a massive Star Wars fan, I believe he looks the way he does just cause they don’t want players to hide so well in the shadows. But over all, I think the skin is great. I love it!
Do you think the helmet piece with the two little circles in the front should be a little more green like the Lego style? Idk why I was expecting that . I thought for some reason the green was a little more prominent there

I think they intentionally changed or altered the color of the black to avoid another black/white super hero skin incident.
I just wish they would make it actually look black for the person who's using it but make it more visible for other players.
I would assume they didn't want it to be pay-to-win like the superhero skins when you could make them completely black. That might be why it looks off.
They could've at least tried to make it have some shine kn the armor

Fortnite seem to always have an issue with shading on skins that are all black, or even somewhat dark like how Midas Rex used to be.
Edit: Also, couldn't help but notice this skin also lacks the lights that appear on the helmets chin and comms device. Makes the 'matching' backbling stick out way more.

@@Rockyroad321 Oh most definitely, I think they just need to play around d with it a little bit more to find a good middle ground. Storm Chaser was a great example of all black with a highlight in the shading
You can actually unlock the back bling now if you do all the challenges and one stage of getting XP in creative made islands.

In my case, I did all except one of the BR challenges and did two stages in creative. Didn’t even noticed it was possible until I did creative for the free daily xp boost.

It has almost a slight iridescence to it. Or like a haze of silver. Maybe they did it to keep the details prevalent instead of a black blob. And if it was just glossy black, it’d basically be darth Vader from temu 😂

whats wrong with the skin is its not meant to be shiney its meant to be completely black just like the films and they also change the name for no reason when in the canon there called death troopers which i dont care if its a kids game lego still called them death troopers in there game

AWR Trooper deserved a better packaging. His own glider (Tie Striker), and pickaxe (an Imperial knife or something similar since the empire pickaxe is a battle pass exclusive). Great skin, I wouldn't buy him cuz lack of cosmetics, but the stw vbucks will do.
The Tie Reaper glider is such a cool idea, let’s hope they add that some day.
It would be cool if they made the skin customizable too.
Like enable or disable the shoulder paldron/magazine holster, grenades, extra pouches, helmet rangefinder, blaster holster (although the holster atleast currently doesn’t have a blaster)
They could easily make it supper customizable.
True, i dont think the skin got the love it deserved. It had the potential to be the best Fortnite Star Wars skin, (better than Vader since gunplay doesnt pair well with Jedi/Sith characters), but the lack of customization-cosmetics ruined it.
Now somebody could bring the argument that the clones got the same treatment, BUT, the clones have Anakins Interceptor (which clones could use back in battlefront 2 2005), and his repair tool pickaxe (since it can be used as repair tool for the clones). Lamda Class Shuttle simply does not fit because it's a transport for the Empires VIPs (Vader, Tarkin, Emperor), not a trooper carrier-gunship, and the Empires pickaxe makes no sense since those guys have knifes.
Am i asking too much? Yes, but so does Epic with its pricings-overvalued bundles.
If i cant have something completed, why bother wasting real money on those cosmetics? Theres no value for me whatsoever. I see the TMNT bundles and im telling myself "imagine if Star Wars had similar bundles",but they wont.
AWR/Death Trooper deserved better.

It would be nice/cool if they gave it an edit style/styles that allows you to remove the shoulder paldron, pouches, or grenades, as they show up like that in the movies too.
And it would allow for people who don’t like the shoulder paldron obstructing the view slightly to simply disable it and give the skin more customization which is always a plus.
But maybe they should tweak the gloss a little bit.
The edit styles idea would be cool for customization alone.
Being able to run it clean without all the grenades/pouches/shoulder pad would be really cool especially if you could change all of those separately, and maybe even have the ability to enable/disable the helmet rangefinder.
You could have a full squad of them all with different attachments/equipment which would be awesome.

Idk I actually wanted it but just wish it had the right coloring and a style to remove the shoulder pad, the first time they actually made the lego version better

Darth Vader is almost completely black if you turn around in a dark corner as Vader you would probably struggle to see him.
I think it would be cool to see more troopers because there are so many cool ones. There are purge troopers (force unleashed AND fallen order ones) dark troopers, the beach troopers, sand troopers, snow troopers, scout troopers, flamethrower troopers, etc. The list could go on forever. Also General Grievous would be cool. They will no doubt have another collab next year

I think fortnite may have messed up a lot of the shiny black textures recently because I was running photo negative spiderman like a day or 2 ago and he looked a little off to me.
I’m not sure why it feels like A LOT of people are forcing themselves to like these items. Guys, it’s cool to say you don’t particularly care for certain items. This entire collab is underwhelming imo with how much hype that was behind it. It’s better to be honest than to try in fit in with others or their opinions because of FOMO or something. Epic has to take these things into consideration moving forward. Solid coverage today man thanks for the heads up/discussion Tabor. 💯🦍

i 100% agree with you on this, i was very hyped just like you but it also kinda feels disapointing. I like wearing skins with dark/black color pallet and mostly just straight up fully black skins plus i like star wars, but i don't know if i should get it
I do enjoy the look of the skin, i think because (i also have a PS5) of the graphics, he looks a little glossy? Hands down one of my favorites this SW update

I would always play as the death trooper in battlefront 2 they were so cool I like the car they added it sounds so nice
I think the Death Trooper skin is a 10/10 the reason why he's so shiny and not just pure black is for the obvious reason that Epic doesn't want this skin to be pay to win in anyway. Specially when people on PS5 with their intense settings for lighting wouldn't see him when he stood in a completely dark and black corner. So there is a understandable reason to his color scheme. But they naild him to the top. I hope in the future we get to see even more Trooper skins like Snow, Sand, Beach, perhaps even the combat Imperial guards and also some Imperial officers one. It would also be really nice to see the Grand Inquisitor or any inquisitor to be added as a skin with their lightsaber hilt as a blackbling like they always wear it

@Tabor Hill you can get the backbling after completing all the battle royale quests and earing 65k xp in creative map because it gives you the progress on the back bling too
The shoulder pad does become an issue when you’re using a sniper without a scope while you’re crouching, then it blocks a big part of your screen including your crosshair

The imperial shuttle (that was in a battle pass) would also fit
you can complete the challenges to get the backblimg btw, if you read the title it says battle royale and/or creative challenges, there are i think 8 battle royale challenges now, the other 2 challenges you can do in creative by getting xp in creative maps and youll get the backbling
honestly, I hope we get the wave one "Shock trooper" skin sometime. It'd fit so well with it's dark grey/blue color, and they could make the jump-pack a back bling that's reactive to jumping. "Shocktroopers" are basically the first version of deathtroopers that would tend to go horribly wrong due to them being made of about 75-80% cybernetic implants without any pain inhibitors, and instead with regenerators that would re-grow vital organs and tissue, often around the cybernetics causing incredible discomfort and eventual rebellion... which is why they were decommissioned after only two waves. They were very effective, but incredibly costly long-term.
If you do the earn xp in creative quests you can unlock the back being, that's how I have it
I am happy with the Death trooper. The only thing I would change is had the green from the Lego version to the battle royale version.

i was really looking forward to getting it but now i think i might pass on it. its a cool skin but idk when id use it over the sith/clone/storm trooper
Death troopers are one of my favorite troopers it's the color scheme that is cool.
Any one else disappointed he doesn't come with a Tie Reaper glider
The fact he’s priced at 1,500 with no backbling and just a wrap is outrageous

The backbling is a free reward, and the quests aren't too crazy. I managed to get it done in a handful of games + a couple creative maps.
Wraps are 500 so the skin is basically 1k

You can unlock the back bling if you do creative maps thats what i did the quests are at the bottom of the page
hey tabor i got the free backbling before days cause theres a creative xp map section for creative maps lol and the awr troopers nose for the helmet is longer and out of shape than the movies

I feel like the body proportions look weird too. Like the body is big but all the limbs are really skinny.

theres actually a glitch with the AWR pack, if you switch to any creative map it'll show a quest to get 65,000 XP and you'll get the backbling, i wish i found this earlier but the creative quest just doesnt show if you're in BR

I think I figured why some AWR troopers/purge troopers have a pualdren. I the ones that escort and exucute exedra have no pualdren but ones that are sent into combat do have a pualdren
when I first saw it I knew it looked weird and it kinda looks like they mixed the Death trooper with the Rebels style look with how the helmet is built and all that lol but I still love the skin tho

Skin is dope, I wish the wrap was sold separately, I feel that’s the cleanest part of the bundle. It’s nice. I feel they really missing out on giving us a customizable light saber. The sales would go through the roof.

They really want to keep lightsabers from looking weak as in the series they're presented as an elegant weapon from a more civilized age so watching people just use it to harvest resources kinda undervalues it. Also the items are sick man, playing may the 4th becomes twice as awesome when you can have full on duels with lightsabers.

i think the armor color is slightly off, and they used the more elongated helmet design and slimmer armor from the mandalorian, as opposed to the original, slightly bulkier design from rogue one.
The wonky helmet was the deal breaker for me I was hoping it would be more like the other troopers

The backbling u can unlock with creative. I still have 2 of the phase 1 Star Wars challenges and unlocked it on day one. So it is obtainable.
I actually really like the skin!!! the only issue is I feel the head may be a tad too small
I think its pricey but I was so hyped for it that I want to buy it. Im playing on pc with low settings and when I saw it in item shop I didnt noticed that flash on armour so for me its not a problem😊.

Yeah it's definitely the reflections of the armor. It's too metallic especially in the daylight. a minor tweak should do the trick lol.
I thought the green mouth pieces were going to glow, but I think that is just on the lego version. I think I would have bought it if it had the glowing green on the br skin.
I bet the reason it is faded is because of the problems with all black skins being too stealthy. Same reason they don't let you choose all black colors on editable skins.

It looks more like a glossy black on my Xbox from what I noticed. It could be a platform type thing, but, idk, maybe I'm tripping.
They need a stle where you remove the shoulder pad.

The issue is the gloss effect is too high.
It’s too reflective so you’re getting the color of the environment around it.

If you're confused about why it looks weird is that his chest is a little bulky and his limbs aren't, but that's just what I saw from it. But yeah it looks off to me too.

The reactive part should've been the death trooper comms crackle every time you kill a player. Was thinking about buying but seeing this really put me off.
I still love this skin. Always been my favorite class but it’s needs to be darker. Make it glossier but make it way darker epic

The proportions feel off, somehow, like he is too wide but the arms and legs are too thin.

Eh I’d say the proportions are right, death troopers are meant to be tall and kinda lanky
