- To begin, you'll need Coleus seeds. You can either purchase them or harvest them from a mature Coleus plant. For seed harvesting, ensure the plant's flower spikes are completely mature. In a few months, the plant will naturally disperse seeds into the soil, ready for your next planting.
To sow the seeds, use a standard potting mix with a touch of perlite. Simply sprinkle the seeds across the surface of the mix, ensuring even distribution. Give them a gentle misting of water, and you're on your way. It's that simple!
Now, the waiting game begins. Depending on factors like temperature and moisture levels, your Coleus seeds will start germinating within one to four weeks. After two to three months, your young Coleus plants will be ready for transplanting or pruning.
Consider covering the pot with a plastic bag or a lid to retain moisture. However, if you're keeping a close eye on your seeds indoors, this step might not be necessary.

So this type of plant will die ultimately?
Normally yes, sometimes you can keep them for while by prunning and keeping them in proper condition. Never I was able to keem them for longer than few months or maximum one year after flowering but you can keep non flowering plant for many years (I have five years old plant).
