Why do I get the feeling that Nicol Bolas might crawl back out of the Prison Realm now that Realmbreaker has (potentially) breached it?
That will be so awesome!
I hope the prison has been taught many things to him
The content, as expected, is mind-blowing. Please provide us with future lore about the gods of Zendikar like Emeria. Thanks!
I was so worried about thephyrexians but then march came out and the phyrexians got their shit rocked on so many planes
You don't have to worry about villians ever winning in MTG, lol.
The only time I remeber the villains winning was when New Phyrexia Successfully compleating the plane of Mirrordin. But we know where that went...@devinscott8680
I would love to see the Xerex invasion just to watch the Phyrexians get mind fucked lol that one sounded great. Keep up the awesome lore brother its fire.
Was fun to see Segovia returning to at least one card, and Xerex looks amazing; hope they feature in future sets.
Hold on, how do we know Mercadia was the place Dyfed took the Halcyon elites? That was somethiing I missed completely -- I know the other settlements outside Mercadia city were brought by a dragon engine that Urza reprogrammed during the battle on argoth though.
I also fully think that if the Mercadians remembered Volrath, they'd be happy to work with the new phyrexians
I'd like to see a return to Ulgrotha to see how they can differentiate the vampires there from Innistrad.
Who else thinks the Phyrexian will be back in 5 to 10 years?
Chocolate 🍫
5-10? This is wizards of the coast, it will be back in 2 years tops....but you guys keep buying these crap sets so they will continue to make new sets that devalue the previous ones
If they bring them back like this... im out
@jamesmeppler6375 lol
#yawgmoth2026!
We should have just released an army of Brushwaggs they wouldn't be able to do shit against those magnificent adorable little monsters.
Our favorite lore guy 😊
Your....favorite lore guy. My favorite lore guy won't touch this with a 10 terabyte pole. Its become garbage, but whats worse? Garbage or the people who buy garbage
@@jamesmeppler6375 obnoxius, pedantic "fans" that can't cope with the fact that they are getting old and things are not like they were when they were young, living in an eternal puberty. That's the worst.
Love the lore, as always. Where do you find all of this information, especially on planes, like you said, that we know so little about?
Really enjoying these videos. I hope that phyrexia retuns in the future of mtg, it's gotta be one of the best stories out there and the art is amazing. This could be adapted to an anime series...
Each invasion of each plane could have been its own set to savor the flavor, but wizards ruined it by pulling anticlimactic subversion of expectations.
It wasn't even subversion. You could *taste* the anticlimax on the horizon. I just didn't expect them to do an Independence Day to the phyrexians. I feel like in the 90's into the early 2000's, Wizards WOULD have made this several sets. Or at least a set with a LOT of expansions to show the true scale of the invasion and the repercussion. Instead, modern magic storylines are like, single set vignettes that conclude in 2-4 consecutive sets building up the end and then the easiest-to-write-around endings possible. Forget about phyrexia, it's in turbo hell so all the millions of millions of invading armies are cut off from the mothership! Forget about Emrakul, they chilling in the moon STOP ASKING ABOUT THEM.
Tbh I'd rather they pivot away from these flaccid multiverse threat plotlines and go back to sets focused on a single plane and the struggles of the people who live there. Or just a goofy mtg flavored natgeo wild set. They keep fumbling the bag so hard with these big stories lmao
@@alecferrell2620 I've been comparing it to season 8 of game of thrones
@@thanhavictusKaya Cassir killing fucking Heliod is literally Arya Stark killing the Night King
@@LadyAsteria58 Elspeth stabbing Elesh Norn in one shot and collapsing the phyrexian army Is closer to Arya Stark stabbing the Night King
@@thanhavictus but Elspeth vs Elesh Norn made sense (though the aftermath did not). Kaya had no connection to Heliod and just one-shot him and noone bats an eye in-universe.
Thank you my brother I’ve been waiting patiently for this.
would love to work on some of this planes someday hehehe,
nice video~
I'd like to know more about what you think of nicol bolas being made phyrexian? How could this affect the future.
Hey, there's a typo on the thumbnail.
It's "Besieged"
13:13
Hmm
Karsus in D&D lore was a ultra power wizard that became a god of magic killing the previous goddess of magic so bad it destroyed "the weave" the material all magic is made from then turned to stone known as Karsus's folly
maybe he's a dead god plane now?
I really hope we get to see Xerex and Segovia in the future. And the volcanic one.
I'm surprised you have to even say anything....this is magic the gathering, every card will be made and at the end of its life, everyone will be saying no more, and not asking for more
@@jamesmeppler6375 we get it, you don't like MTG you don't have to whine about how much you hate it on every comment
@@ICantThinkOfAFunnyHandle you act like one reply to one comment will add to the conversation everyone's having. We should have been gate keepers and then it would be like Warhammer 40k only for true fans. I'd say stay in your own lane but you kinda stole my lane.
I replied maybe to 2-3 comments. So I get it, you don't like hearing people complain about something you still like. But if you don't like someone's opinion, why are you here?
You can go on and play a dead game, but that won't stop me from reminiscing on how it used to be good and not just for losers who are addicted to gambling and trying to be the best at a game meant to be played in a line and not take 20 minutes a turn
@@jamesmeppler6375 fun fact! How many comments are on a channel is a public fact, so I can see that you have ~15 replies and comments on this video whining about the "good old days" when extra turn spells were 1U.
I get annoyed by your complaining because you constantly try to ruin the game for other people. It's one thing to say "I don't like this thing" it's another to say "you shouldn't enjoy this game" and you're doing the latter. Go circlejerk about times that never existed (nostalgia is a hell of a drug) to people that care
@@jamesmeppler6375 ok so game bad now, you can always just play with the old cards if you like them so much...sure boosters are a pain and theyll never make them like those again, like how standard has ZERO vanilla creatures, i get your feeling on the overcomplication and over competitive natures of the fans. i just play for the game, its 60 cards and you know what you have yugi, so when HASNT it been associated with other card games of chance hmm?
i really want to know how many pyrexians were sent to Segovia bruh
I love the Phyrexians as an enemy type but am unhappy at how they seem to have been watered down in how they look now. The old Phyrexians looked much cooler and gruesome these new ones look weak.
If this set did nothing else, it proved Phyrexia is nowhere near the greatest threat in the multiverse, they got their sh*t rocked on so many planes. If they were smart, they would have attacked one plane at a time, wearing the multiverse down, forcing our heroes to fight against the clock... March of the Machine was so disappointing.
I like the scale of the Phyrexian invasion to encompass all the known planes but it was definitely rushed and a lot of the Praetors went out like chumps which was a major let down.
Another awesome vid
Shandalar had very powerful wild magic none the phyrexians survived this outcome!
No Alara?
where there any planes that did not get invaded by phyreixa?
These planes and invasions are interesting for context but i would much rather hear about the main story, continuation of your new phyrexia video ending with the battle of urzas tower..
It is in the works! Awaiting the end of the aftermath stories
WOOO SEGOVIA
Mouse click at gobakhan
Magic stories might be cool if they stopped releasing new sets what seems like every few months, re-releasing cards in different sets in a plain that shouldn't have them
im half in but all the invasions llok like: well here we are. 2-3 easy wins but suddenly whole world turns against us and we lost cause we dont habe a plan to make an outpost. sorry and bye bye
it would be much better if you show related art when speaking of some plane. Instead it mostly just random :\
I love the commentary using cards, quotes, and lore!
However, I found it confusing and disorienting that art specifically tied to other planes was being shown during the discussions (e.g. Invasion of Eldraine's art being shown when discussing Pyrulea). These planes certainly have the barrier of having little art, but I kept having to rewind to make sure I wasn't getting the planes confused.
