When I first smelled this, I was totally blown away - so different, so unlike the other Xerjoffs. I thought at that point it would fit much more into Amouage line and now you mentioned that the perfumer has actually worked for Amouage, it really makes sense. As for the scent itself, I actually do a get a churche vibe, but really nice, warm and calming. Agree, this scent is very misunderstood, I don't understand the low ratings on frag sites..
@@ickis123 as mentioned in the video, I feel the marketing and bottle design for this have been a huge flop. Really misunderstood.
Also, consider that most Xerjoff that are not covered by you usual channels tend to go really obscure. Ever heard anyone talk about Zafar? Yeah, me neither.

@@richard220273 the collection is always changing, a lot of stuff goes so showing the whole thing is not really useful. More favorite videos are coming but I don’t want to overdo it with lists 😉
Yesss I used 1888 a lot and mefisto too, the 30ml is also very versatile, I only upgraded to 100ml Mefisto after using so so much in the summer at work every day
@@pasf4118 never tried Mefisto yet because it seems to be quite expensive (maybe popular). That too is perfumed by a third party!

That is an interesting observation about the perfumer behind the scents of Xerjoff. I share your opinion about the common dry down. To me it is a sweet fallen apart mess. But, as you said, it is unfortunate the perfumer is quite often not mentioned. I guess we have to presume nobody dared to take credit for it 😉

Might be an unpopular opinion but Naxos is very overhyped there’s nothing so magical about it. I barely wear it my bottle is still 90% full
@@unicdelmore4382 I also think it’s overhyped with most of its success due to the media coverage; I still think it’s a good perfume though. I almost bought a bottle a while back but realized it would have sat on my shelf.

Totally agree. Naxos is way too cloying. That honey note can be completely overbearing.

Have you tried Nio, the hyped bergamot fragrance? I own it and love it, but the longevity is so disappointing :(

@@SeldomlyOften to me, it smells like a relaxing, meditating bergamot distilled oil- quite bitter and harsh in the beginning but it smooths down later on with a touch of neroli.
Some say that it is comparable to le labo bergamote 22, these two are similarly weak.
Nio doesn't project much nor last, I often spray it before sleeping haha
@@KingDomFurnDing it being weak is actually reassuring to me, it means they didn’t try to boost it too much with the usual base block. I’ll see what I can get 😉
Someone should make a pefume based on Will Ramos's cleans and growls especially like in his cover of Chokehold.. Instant goosebumps. Actually, you sound like a big cat sometimes Daniel your voice is pretty growly. Good asmr 🐈⬛

I always got bothered with the fact Xerjoff does not advertise their perfumers. I suppose it makes sense to follow your favorite perfumers social pages to be up to date with their work. The exception could be Amouage. Don't think I'd skip any of their releases, if I had unlimited funds 😂
Tell me about it, I ordered a bottle of Reasons and I hope neither Amouage nor Duchaufour fail me... 😅

@@andrei-cosmin.popa85 I would have gotten that but I didn't like the notes in it, I got the frag that spoke to me most as far as perceived scent profile. I'll do an unboxing and first sniff of the bottle when I get it, similar to my video of Heraud.
Still looking for a Xerjoff that I actually like… I can’t stand their DNA dry down as you said, it’s a max of synthetic vanilla amber.
A really underrated from the house is Zefiro, one of the best they offer in my opinion. Have you tried that?
@@SeldomlyOften No! Will have to try it next time I go near the store. So far I've only tried Naxos (too sweet), Torino 21 (not a fan of Verbena note), Erba Pura, 40 knots and Comandante. I would really love to get a discovery set or something because I don't understand the house very well yet.
this house has a confusing identity. Got around 25 samples of them, mefisto gentiluomo would be my pick so far...

@@SeldomlyOften It is basic but with good quality. citrusy lavender and violet on woods. soapy clean light fresh fougere style. Mefisto was heavier, more inky. Kinda worth the price of 150 for 100ml imo but not retail. disclaimer my skin and nose are weird eg on rose incense i only got olibanum/frankincense church aroma, never rose even after 5 hours, on tobacco vanilla (TF) i never smelled the vanilla only the tobacco.

I have a sample of this and I thin it is too spicy and peppery for my liking, uhh.
The pepper note is indeed quite strong in the opening, almost gets me to sneeze!
Vibe collection which has been bought from sospiro is horrible IMO( erba pura, accento, opera…) other than that, house is great. So many great offerings. 1888, italica, richwood, syphonium, naxos, 40 knots, alexandria 2(which you dont like), nio, kobe, oesel, zefiro, toni iommi diefied,400, coffee break is great line…)
