The tune prior to this one is called The Mule (Live in Copenhagen)...it features one of the most iconic drum solos by Ian Paice. I'm traveling to Stuttgart in a few months to see Purple one last time...then on to Romania to see Ian Paice and the tribute band Purpendicular.
Don't ya just love Jon Lord running that Hammond organ through those Marshall amps! Gawds, I love DP!
Yes the Mule from this same concert. I think its 9 mins. Some reactors only do the 5 min. something . The whole 9 min. jam is the best.
To me this shows how good deep purple was ! Damn good !!!
Blackmore is on another level
DP Live hard to beat. Such talented musicians. They went for it!!!
Monsters, all of them. To me, Jon Lord's keyboards were the heart of the band, but there's just so much energy and quality coming from all of them, and they're clearly enjoying the hell out of what they're doing, too.
You are right about Lord. But, I can say this, not sure who is playing keys now for DP, but in 2018, I caught 2 shows with Judas Priest. In Cincy, DP blew Priest off the stage. Very first concert of their N. american Tour. Then flew to Biloxi and seen to see the 16th show. Priest was on fire. But the dedication keyboard solo to Lord was phenomenal, and the guys playing in both shows. RIP Lord.
Deep Purple is like having a #1 pick at every position, these dudes couldn't miss.
Richie Blackmore giving that Fender Strat a real workout, like usual. And Roger, Jon and the two Ian's just killin' it. Feeling "Lazy". Even if you don't like long songs, you will like "Space Truckin'", by Deep Purple, which is a very long song. A whole album side, so you are warned. But you will still love it.
Ritchie Blackmore is a guitar god and he is going back on the road with Rainbow this year.
5 genios de la musica dificil de superar!! Larga vida a deep purple!!
I recommend Deep Purple's live album titled Made in Japan ! You should do an album review of it .
Such a great jam!
Oh Yeah! Space Truckin, Hush, Child in Time, any of these would be just fine. Rock On!
There ya go Boss!.... Some DEEP 💜 PURPLE.
Ian Gillian
John Lord
Ian Paice
Ritchie Blackmore
Roger Glover. Mark 2
You know 14 years old sitting in the basement exchange 1st kisses in the blue light havin' a party and all that
Just pure joyride 💫
This was Deep Purple's best formation. Really good musicians and virtuosos on their instruments - I love it! Thanks for sharing and kind regards @all from hamburg (germany)
Blackmore, notoriously difficult character in the band's later years - you never knew if he was going to appear on stage or not.
I think Strange Kind of Woman from this same show (Copenhagen, 1972) would be a good choice. Fun to see and hear the interaction between Blackmore and Gillan. This show also has the best live version of Space Truckin'.
This Space Truckin' and the one from In Concert '72.
@@bookhouseboy280 I agree. I think both are better than the version on Made in Japan. The Copenhagen one just happens to have the video as well.
Saw them in the 70's just by chance, by scalping tickets at the last minute, so glad l did, it was a great show and they did this song which is one of my favorites by them👍 hope you liked it too
Love my generation of music
Ritchie Blackmore is a Mean Mutha. Great band.
If you want more Purple, “Mistreated” live, California Jam ‘74 in front of 500,000 doped up rock fans. Doesn’t get any better
I was there, and quite doped up 😅
@@cynergy4 you lucky bastard! I think if I could have attended any show in history that just might have been the one.
So who was best, Sabbath, Purple of ELP?
@@jameshunter7303 Lucky bitch, haha! They all kicked ass but I was there for ELP. It was during my heavily psychedelicized daze 😏 I had just turned 18, whatta great time for music!
@@jameshunter7303 all of the above 🤟
Do Perfect Strangers live 1984 or 1994. When this lineup got back together again. Great song, good album too
Looking forward to a couple of tracks from the 1973 album Who Do We Think We Are, "Woman From Tokyo", and "Mary Long". A couple of Purple classics.
Along with "Rat Bat Blue", "Super Trouper", and "Smooth Dancer".
@@bookhouseboy280 I forgot "Rat Bat Blue" with that great riff! I always liked that album better than Machine Head, but I know I'm in the minority. Thanks BB!
Rat Bat Blue off the Who Do We Think We Are album is a real jammer.
@@BeeLineEast Yep, one of my favorite track from that great album. "Rat Bat Bat Bat Bat Blue!"
🎸💯 Deep Purple is bouncin' off the walls‼🔥
It's 1:21 a m. on Tuesday 4-25-23 & this was such an unexpected reaction‼Is Richie Blackmore an alien guitarist⁉️ You've been tearing it up BizMatik & about to click on38K subs, too‼☮ ❤ 🎶
Thanks for reacting to my very favorite song ever.
Amazing band they were to see live. John Lord up there with his Hammond C3 playing through Leslie cabinets amazing sound. Ian paice on drums and Rodger Glover on bass just a amazing lineup And Ritchie Blackmore on guitar I've seen him twice with deep purple and twice with rainbow.
I could never stop listening to stuff like that
Great reaction! 😊 thanks.!
Space Truckin live 1972 from Made in Japan -18 mins crazy Drums and Organ
Yo yo yo . My favorite. I relate so hard about pression deep.
MADE IN JAPAN was one of my first albums.
That bass was beast-mode!
Deep Purple Mark 2 is on my Mt Rushmore of Heavy Metal along with Zeppelin, Sabbath, and Hendrix. Check out Anyone's Daughter from Fireball for a shorter song with a great story.
Deep purple in that era put about seven songs on an album.
This and "Child In Time" are my two faves by them. I feel that they are at their best live, and Ian is my fave of their singers. Great band! Blackmore is an excellent guitarist but a spoiled brat. Saw them at the first California Jam
Knocking at your back door. You will love the shlyrics 😉
some tasteful harp phrasing from gillan
My choice for you, for your next Deep Purple reaction, would be "Flight of the Rat" from the "In Rock" album.
Special time in music 🎵. Don't forget to Boogie children 🪴🌄
next...my woman from tokyo ...
You really need to listen to the studio version. The live version is a bit of a jam session.
Machine Head is such a great album. I was lucky to see DP live in Tamps in '72/73. They were awesome as expected, but an unexpected treat was their opening act - a band we had never heard of - ZZ TOP !!! WOW - they really blew us away, early ZZ was the best IMO.
An excellent cover of this song is done by Joe Bonamassa on guitar and the Killer Jimmy Barnes on vocals.. I think it's better than the original.
Like I mentioned a couple days ago when you did Rainbow. .Ritchie is a blues guitarist,,,,
If you haven’t done Space Truckin’ live yet, then that is a must. 22 minutes of improvisation from Jon Lord on keyboards and Ritchie Blackmore on guitar, but there has to beca shout out to Ian Paice for the mesmeric rythym he maintains throughout the long instrumental section.
Interesting thing about the version I have attached. It is a live performance from Copenhagen in 1972 but the middle section of the audio is actually from the Made in Japan official lvie album. A very clever mashup video, you would never know the audio switches from the live show, to Made in Japan and back again.

if you want to see epic guitar from blackmore, try live in Belgium 1969, super long and a funky show intro but insane guitar 😁
I always thought this sounded like it should be an Allman Brothers song! Maybe I'm trippin lol Have you done Perfect Strangers yet? Its a great Deep Purple song!
They had like 5 lead singers. You might like strange kind of woman live or child in time. Burn, mistreated, soldier of fortune, woman from Tokyo, don't know what you have done.
Check out the early DP with the original vocalist Rod Evans ,a song called ''Listen, Learn, Read On' and '' HUSH' if you have not done that already ..A song from Born album called ''Lay Down Stay Down''' is really good and with the other vocalist David Coverdale and Glen Hughes...DP switched up quite a bit with the lead singers and the lead guitarist founder Ritchie Blackmore quit and Tommy Bolin came in on lead and made the album Come Taste The Band which is a good one but strange without Blackmore on it ..
Guitar 🔥
Well based on everything you just said, man I want you check out they call me the Breeze by Lynyrd Skynyrd preferably the studio cut but the live one is great too. But maybe you could do them both in order. Either way I think it's right down your alley from what you were just talking about.
Hammond organ with Leslie spinning speakers. No shit . Organ came out of Church. Speakers . . Nasa maybe idk but they literally spin . Ohh lazy
Hush is a favorite
Lol I read lazy Clive giggle
Blues Rock.
Hush. Check out "Hush."
Listen to Lazy from Machine Head MASTER PIECE
Who you calling lazy . If you drownin . Don clutch straw 😮
That organ is terrible 😂
Lol nahhh
@@watchbizmatik ...the very first time I ever had a negative comment on any song...I'm a big Deep Purple fan ...but the organ didn't do anything for me. I really dig your reactions, truthful and honest
