Absolutely AWESOME musicians !! No matter the genre...each one - a virtuoso on their instrument. When you put a smile on the listeners face, and joy in their heart - you've surpassed your goal. Bravo !
I would love to see this band live! Besides this wonderful band, I have been noticing more young people playing this genre. Tuba Skinny is a fine example of a young band like the ladies on this video.
So much energy went into that they had to take a break afterwards... LOL. They all play such great solos all round the band. Thank you Ladies. Thanks also to Pierre Ingrin!
I come back to this often. Great little band. But Defne is the star and should be MUCH more well known. I think she could be HUGE in the music biz, but probably doesn’t want to. I gotta get to New Orleans one day.
Until not so long ago women were not interested in classic jazz and these ladies are still an exception. This is a great band that measures up with the best male bands - and is actually rather better than most.
I don't like the Washboard being used as a comedy device...or a one man band...if you like this kind of stuff, More power to you...I believe a Washboard, is a serious instrument that sounds good as a timekeeper with many different styles of music...one of my favorite Washboard players is "Dizzy" she is one of the worlds best Jazz players ...
