@@rkmklz7562 I agree. I just watched ebay for a while and eventually one that appeared salvageable came available. There is risk, sometimes they can’t be made to work. Good luck!
Hi there good old national Panasonic Rf 5000 a large radio and it works rather well ssb works fair to good and am good in its time in Melbourne Australia in 1970 it sold for $495 dollars l saw it advertised in electronics magazine a rather expensive radio in its time at its top l would give it four stars out of five great video as always cheers from raymond
@@RaymondJones-d8z thanks Raymond. I was excited when I saw this on eBay and I knew it had potential, but I wasn’t 100% sure that I could fix all the problems. Obviously I haven’t fixed all of its problems but it’s working pretty darn good and that is my hobby. I enjoy this very much and I appreciate your interest as well.
It’s was in a heavy smokers house probably if it was sticky what a score love it give it love it will look like that I seen the video on how to restore that 📻 and disassembly you did a great job 👏🏻
Nice job Nic I always look forward to seeing your videos! Are you still waiting for the estate sale to be delivered? Sw55 probably needs caps i have the same Valdo fixed mine, tuning in the stations with the dial is the magic and that there radio has great sensitivity enjoy! Also those beacons do you know there location? I’m EC NYC thanks Nic.
@@GBusall yes I am still waiting for the collection, I just spoke to my friend who is going to help me and it’ll probably be after Christmas and then we both have business commitments early January so it might be middle of January before I actually see them but they are in a safe warm dry place and they will be delivered safely, so I’m not worried about it. and obviously I do have enough toys to play with until they get here. Yesterday I sent the SW55 to Adel in Indianapolis for new caps and repair. I also sent him an old Sony pro 80 that I had laying around because I saw that he fixed those too. Since I do not read code, I can’t tell you where the beacons are, I’m assuming they’re kinda local to North Texas probably
@dieselten01 could you do a review of the Rf-8000 and Rf-9000 receivers from Panasonic, BTW were you listening to Trenton military on 6754 kHz when you took this video?!?
Wow what a radio 📻 wish I can find one like them you have your listening to military Trenton weather
