Thanks for posting ths video. You posted it 5 years ago and it's still helping people out. Fantastic.
No worries, Anthony. I'm glad you found it useful 🙂👌👍.
Excellent vid and instruction fella.. Its mad that you did this video 5 years ago and as far as I can tell, there isn't any others as informative than yours. I have just purchased some Disco 5 leather seats.. They are lovely but... I am going to have to start delving into the wirings shortly. I am hoping that it is similar to the seats you have. I know they ( well certainly the drivers seat) has the memory console. So that's a starting point. lol
Keep up the great work fella.
Cheers, Paul 😉👌👍. I be honest, I couldn't tell you if they are the same or not, but I'd imagine they would be, bud👍...
Thanks so much, Mark! Means a lot to get so much support from the van community 😁👍
Your very welcome guys 😉👍, enjoy your epic journey and good luck 😁👌👍👍👍.
Well done Mark.. When I fitted mine (Ford Galaxy Ghia) to a Transit Mk6 and Mk7, No one had done it and put it on youtube.. You have explained it fare better than I ever could or did.. We all know that that took Hours and Hours to do, and by the power of editing you got it down to under 20 minutes.. Well done.. I had to make mine swivel as well..? Most people will never attempt with as it involves lots and lots of wires.. But it is so satisfying when it all works.. Great video mate...
Thank you matey 😉👍, yes, I too looked on YT to see how you do it, and came across this one, ruclips.net/video/77vKHBckbck/видео.html, so by the looks of it, this is the only van related one. Your right bud, I don't think many people will attempt this, especially 9 👎people will not be going for this option matey 🤔😂, oh well, their input has bumped the video up on the algorithm 😁👍👍👍
Cracking video. Been trying to crack the wiring on these seats for ages. Thank you.
Your welcome bud 😉👌👍👍👍.
That is so good. I'm just getting ready to fit P38 seats into the front of my Defender 110 and this video has saved me a lot of head scratching. Thanks for posting it.
Cheers matey and good luck 😉👌👍👍👍.
Great video Mark. Thanks for sharing. Best solution to the wire diagram issue for me. Best part was actually cutting the connectors off! Everything working! Cheers
Thank you matey 😉👌👍👍👍.
Top job there Mark it will so much more comfortable on long journeys.
Thank you matey 😁👍, hell yes, those Iveco seats were like Park benches compared to these ones, OK, I loose out on the air suspension seat, but hey oh bud 💺😉👍👍👍
Made really cool. Super explained! I have a boxer and I can very well imagine installing such beautiful seats.
It is of course a dream that the seats can be controlled with the original switches!
No it requires the RF signal from the original key fob from the Range Rover, to wake up (switch on) the controller that's under the driver's seat 😉👍.
Brilliant video with the wiring explanation and not needing to weld the base. I want to make the passenger swivel, so presumably will be a similar process but mounting the swivel base to the lower base
Cheers Dan👌😉👍, I've actually modified these yet again so there's sprung suspension on the seat on a welded frame (I didn't get around filming that process though unfortunately) 😉👍👍👍.
Looks to be a high quality build with great attention to detail.
Thank you 😉👍, I'm only going to do a van build once, so rather it was done properly the first time around 😁👍👍😌
This helped so much! Thank you very much
No worries 😉👌👍👍👍.
wow! you certainly know your stuff...i think the seat that comes with my daily is pretty comfy so will just keep it as it is
Thank you Kelly 😊👌👍👍👍...
Excellent project!
Thank you Mr H 😁👍👍👍
Great video! I'm going to get started on this project soon. I purchased 2012 Range Rover seats to replace the bench seat in my 1940 Chevy hotrod.
Excellent! Good Luck and Thank You! 😉👌👍👍👍.
Perfect 👍🏻 Awsome tutorial.
Loved the including of Carmina Burana.
Great result with the seats. Just drive and enjoy Sir.
Cheers matey 😉👌👍👍👍.
You made that look easy, and I know it wasn't. Nice one Mark.
Thank you matey 😁👌👍, this was filmed over 3 weeks, over what little spare time I have at the minute bud. in real time, probably a full weekend job with a little bit left over for trimmings, yes, not a straight forward job of plug N play, but definitely an huge contrast against the original Iveco seats mate 😉👍👍👍
Great video, well presented and detailed!
Thank you matey 😊👍👍👍.
Made a beautiful job of that, gonna be traveling in comfort
Thank you matey 😊👍, yes it involves a lot of work but definitely worth it bud 😉👌👍👍👍
Great vid Mark ! Hopefully once I've finished converting my Iveco, I might be able to wire in a set of Lexus seats I've got waiting.._I can but hope !! Thanks again for the great explanation in your vid.
Thank You Allan 😊👍, I hope they are more straightforward then the Range Rover ones matey, good luck 😉👍👍👍.
17:36 EPIC!!!!
You explained it all so well I felt like I could tackle that job myself. I won't, because my van is a piece shit and crimping wires is the limit of my abilities. 😉
Each episode gets better and better and *better*. Blown away, mate. The van, the hard work you put in, the videography. 😎
Wow mate! Thank you!😊That really does mean a lot to me😁🍻👍, let's face it, I've learnt from the master of editing him self, The indie projects' 👀🤭..... Cheers bud I really do appreciate your feed back 👌😉👍👍👍
What a great video .Thanks mate
Thank you Ian 😎👌👍👍👍.
Good job Mark
Thank you mate 😊👍👍👍.
They look so good! Thanks for the video, just the part about making the adapting rails is going to be so useful. I'm in the midst of an Iveco build and found your channel.
No worries matey 👌👍, good luck with your van build 😊👌👍👍👍...
I’m in the process of sorting out 2 Range Rover Vogue seats so I know how time consuming it was mine never had the unit under the seats so I didn’t have to cut that out but the guy who took them out of the car was not too clever, the hardest part for me is finding the corresponding wires to the switches on the seat and for the life of be I can not make out how the plastic panel is fitted but there is wires coming out from the side of the seat and see if I can sort them out , I’ve not found the wires to raise and lower the head rest yet but I’m not in any rush I’m waiting for the relays to be delivered. Your video as. Been a great help Mark I will let you know how I get on with them
Cheers, Thomas, the head rest cable was tucked away right at the back, quite central next to the heated eliminate wires, only thin wires if I remember correctly. 😉👌👍.
Spot on again, cheers
Cheers matey 😉👌👍👍👍.
Looks like they would make excellent swivel seats too with that recliner option. I need a new passenger seat in my Sprinter, as it currently has a 1 and a half seat that is fixed and a bit too upright to travel more than about half an hour. Its also too close to the dash, so you get kneecapped if you need to open the glovebox. You've given me an idea on how to alter the seat base to accommodate a different seat. Love the Lego Dave and his van! Cheers.
Thank you Linzi 😁👍, searched for some time for a suitable Dave Bertholini mobile 😅😁, yes, I reckon they would make a great swivel seat too, I have the rear seat too, so I might do something with that 🤔😉👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan We had a rear car seat mounted on a custom box in the back of the van when we had the trials bikes - worked pretty well, lots of storage for boots and other gear under it. I've got the rear seats from a Honda Jazz, was going to do the dinette with them, but might just use some of the caravan cushions I've got, can be dinette, side sofa or bed then. Still working it all out at the mo.
@@linz_in_NZ I probably make a sofa out of mine for the garden room, that we never seem to use🤔 😅😁👍👍👍
Very clever 💯🙏✅
Cheers Adam 😉👌👍👍👍.
Very good Mark, complicated enough though at least for me, so glad my old wagon has limited electrics 💥🙂👍
Thank you bud 😁👍, yeap, not a 10 minute job, but well worth it for the comfort, the Iveco seats are pants to put it bluntly bud 😅😉👍👍👍
@@Iveavan 👍👍👍
Top job there robbo 👌
Cheers bud 😁👍👍👍
That’s great, thanks for posting.
I’ve got a set of Evoque seat I want to fit but they have the memory modules and it was confusing me so much I gave up. But having watched your video I will give them another go.
Thanks for sharing.
Excellent no worries and good luck bud 😉👌👍👍👍.
Hi bulkbrit, did you get the Evoque seats working? I've just bought a set to go in my Sprinter.
Great video pal. It has saved mw a lot of work in working out the electrics on these seats. Hope your conversion goes well
No worries bud 😉👍👍👍.
Great job Sir 👍
Thank you matey 😁👍👍👍
Sorted now Mark Thanks picked a set of keys up this afternoon, drivers seat changed just need to get a single base for the passengers side .
Excellent bud 😉👌 👍👍👍.
Loved the info re the twin relays and two way switch for bi-directional motor. I've never seen that done before, no idea when I'll use it, but have saved the video in my watch lists as a reminder for if and when! Brilliant! :o)
Thank you 😊👍, you'll never know bud, that's why I put up the diagram just in case, I'm glad you found it useful matey 👌😉👍👍👍
@@Iveavan Very much so :o)
Very, very, nice job mate. 12:00 😜 . Good use of the ending too 👌🏻
Haha, ohhh yeahhhhh baby 😎😂😁😉👍, thank you matey 😊👌👍👍👍.
You is a clever man! 👏
Thank you L4WNY 😉👌👍, unlike the 12 who "disliked" it, but are unwittingly promoting it via YT algorithm, they are the real geniuses at work here 🤦♂️😂😁😉👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan 😂 😝 I'm a courier by trade and having done just shy of 280K in 3 yrs I've now done my back in. I'd love to be able to change my current sprinter seats to something like these.
This is bloody great and perfectly clear. Ta
No worries bud 👌👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan One question: how do you figure out which lead is earth on the switch bank? Ta
Well iv just bought the exact seats to go in my 07 Iveco, I’ll be happy if I get any where near as good job as you’ve done.
Cheers matey, good luck in fitting them 😉👌👍👍👍.
Many thanks Mark for the shoutout for the Chicks 👍 top Job on them seats too 👍 best regards Louie and his two poo pickers 👍😀🐾🍺🍟
Hey, any time mate 👌😉👍, and thank you, they are very comfortable, just a bugger to install 😁👍👍👍
Awesome job there Mark , best looking seats I've seen in a 270k miles van 😃👍👍
Thank you matey 😁👍, 317 k 👀😅👌😎😁👍👍👍
Oh bugger , yea 317k that's what I ment lolol ,🤣🤣😂
I know matey, yours did sound better though 🤔😅😁👍👍👍
Hi new family member here from Scotland
And welcome to the family 😁👌👍👍👍...
Mark, You obviously don’t sleep much 😀 with all the work you put into this conversion, it’s so good I think you should start a RUclips site 🤣🤣, it’s great work please keep it up
Wow thank you Brian 😊👍, it's comments and the support like this that keep me going, Sleep, noooo not much to be honest, a video like this takes around 12 to 15 hours to edit, so I'm often up until 1am, back to work at 730am, after work, straight on with the van build nearly every night. So thank you mate, very kind of you. 😉👍👍👍
G’day Mark what a bloody good job and that was a steal what you paid for the seats, I can’t figure out how you did the electrics but a very fine job and the seats will be very comfortable I would imagine great job again and it was as usual very informative, it’s certainly going to be one bloody nice motor home, kind regards John
Sorry John I've just seen your comment mate. Thank you 😊👍, yes, it took some research pretty much wasted time on that BeCM controller 🤦♂️, cheers again John 😉🍻👍👍👍
I've just bought an iveco camper and would really love to do this but the electrics go way over my head. Looks great mate, well done
Cheers bud 👌👍. You could always fit a set of " manual P38 seats", then it would save you from wiring them up 😉👌👍👍👍.
Great vid Mark, I've just bought an Iveco Daily 35s14 & have a set of Lexus is220 seats on standby with the hope of fitting them eventually.._
Thank you Allan 😉👍, seat swapping possibilities are endless, just the height issue regarding the original seat frames mate, Ash Pollard has the Honda Accord one's, he only had to add an inch on his when I asked him, saying that his bulk head is around 6 inches further back then mine mate (that makes a huge difference) so calculate that when fitting them 😉👌👍👍👍.
Respect on the callout for the Chick family Mark, been with them for a while now, they're great.
Range Rover seats great comfort head ache wiring, did you add the ejector button on the wifes seat?. You must be close to a trip away in it soon. Top class build mate
Thank you matey 😁👍, she might of fitted one on mine 🤔.... I best check 😁👌👍👍👍
will not have problems in the M.O.T.
?
thanks for the video
Thank you 😊👍, No, shouldn't have any issues putting it through it's MOT. it's secured well within the van, goes Fore & Aft, back rest stays in its up rest position, seat belts are in good and functional condition. 😁👍👍👍
This bit chuck it . love it.
HAHA 😁👌, see the rear seats.... Chuck em, you don't need them 😁😉👍👍👍
Ive been doing my van feels like a lifetime and i also adopt this bit chuck it . then spend ages looking for bits n bobs . top vids great build keep it up.
Thank you matey 😊👍, yes, I can definitely relate to in your situation 😅😁👌👍👍👍
They look comfy Mark, long trips should be a lot better for you. Top job.
Thank you guys 😉👍, Yeah, compared to the old Iveco ones, they feel far less agricultural, they will be great to fall a sleep in when driving along 👀😅😁👍👍👍
@@Iveavan 🤭
Wow! Good job. Putting us all to shame :)
Thank you Luke 😁👍. There you go bud, you can get yours done now, it will only take 10 minutes 🤔😅, yes, they are a bit of a bugger to fit, but we'll worth it mate 😁👍👍👍
ERM.... Is there anything you can't do ? Impressed ....
Cheers matey 😉👍, Yes! Play Chess 🤔😁👍👍👍.
great video" & well explained, I have a question someone has added seats the same way as yourself & tucked away the yellow airbag conector but the yellow airbag light is displayed on the dash .can this be cancelled as im worried about an mot. ! thanks.
Yes, by using resistors with in that airbag circuit you can turn that light off...... I can't tell you what the resistance is, as my van didn't have the air bag option due to the age of the van, but if you search amongst the Iveco Daily forums they will be an answer to this matey 😉👍👍👍.
Great video. Well explained and very detailed. Does anyone know which 2 single seats will directly fit a Vivaro/Primastar/Trafic? They don't need to be anything fancy or electric. I have a single driver and a double passenger that I want to swap out to two singles. Thanks all.
Thank you bud👌👍 I shall pin your comment on here for someone to answer 😉👌👍👍👍.
The passenger seats are always very expensive, even when they are used. But if you buy a driver's seat from abroad / Germany etc., they usually fit. Here in Germany, a driver's seat costs only half of a passenger's seat.

Thank you matey 💂♂️😁👍👍👍
Your vids are very detailed unlike mine lol, so well done! I noticed you where filming from hull marina. Are you a hull lad too as im from hull! Was west but now east ;) keep up the good work and maybe one day we might hook up and check each others self builds out over a beer and a camp fire.
Cheers matey 😉👍, yes I'm in Ull too bud no doubt our paths will cross 😎🍻👍👍👍.
Fantastic! Just discovered your channel from my Instagram! Been planning my Luton box conversion and been looking at replacing seats instead of transit factory fit... this is ace.. I used to have a P38 so I know how comfy they are!! Just subscribed to your channel and Instagram so keep up good work!!
Thank you matey😊👍, yes they are very comfortable indeed bud, just a pain in a butt to wire them up, I've looked on ebay and it seems the manual ones seem to command an higher price, probably why not many people bother fitting these electric seats 🤔😉👍👍👍
Mark Collom #Iveavan - sounds about right - my electrical know how is limited to zero really so this coupled with a Haynes manual and my dad’s better knowledge we will be trying this! Suppose I just need to understand how to add to the van 12v and not the campervan system
Mark me again - daft question but how easy would it be you reckon to put a swivel base on one of these but still
Maintain electrics etc? Cheers bud
@@steveflanagan46 depends how good are you are at fabrication bud, nothing is impossible 🤔, with only a twin core cable feeding power to the seats the electric part shouldn't be an issue, just the fabrication side of it mate on the seat frame, but once you did one, the other side should be easier enough, I'd say its possibly to do it, ( but bare in mind , they are wide seats! Giving scope to enable to twist the seat around matey ) good luck 😉👌👍👍👍
Mark Collom #Iveavan thanks chief - I was just bouncing ideas around to see if I could say but a swivel base on the passenger or drivers seat and have entrance door to the Luton box off set instead of middle - not sure if it can measure up 🤔
Another great and useful vid ! But when its comes to electrics I need someone to hold my hand lol
Thank you Alex 😉👍, yes, it's a bit of a kerfuffle, but we'll worth doing bud, so much more comfortable 😊, was the video easy to follow mate, I tried different cuts before coming up with this one matey 🤔😬😉👍👍👍
@@Iveavan yes very helpful mate! Brilliant information I'm just a plonker! ;) they do look comfy! Cant wait for the next vid! I'm planning on doing a van build this summer!
@@alexhearn5626 ahhh great thanks for the feed back bud, kinda worried if I over complicated it, hey, don't worry, I'm a right plonker too bud 😁😉👍👍👍
hello sir, i like the vid, im putting RR seats (2013) in a 2017 transit 350 some others doing this dont use relays and lose the oem switches and replace with generic window switches. why did you use so many relays
Cheers Mike 👌👍. I'm replicating what the BeCm doe's by using the relays in order to use the original switch gear. Of course, you could use window switches depends on what finish you want 😉👌👍👍👍.
Great video, can’t find the relays under the affiliate link. Are those SPDT or ST? Thanks 🙏🏻
Aaaah! They probably no longer stock them as the video is a few years old now.
From memory, they were 10x 12V 30Amp Automotive Wire Harness Relay Socket SPDT Relay Set ( usually come in a set of 5 as it was cheaper this way ).😉👌👍👍👍.
I can see your thinking there, long drives you want to ride in style and those range rover seats are pimping. Coincidence that the seat colour match your van paint job?
There certainly comfortable, I just searched for 'tan leather car seats' and these came up 😉👌👍👍👍.
Thanks for the video Mark, Very helpful! We are halfway into adding the seats to our T4, the electician we have has said it would not be possible to have the "Memory function" as in keeping the seats in the same position once the engine is turned off. You would have to adjust the seats each time - is this how yours is set up? Any advice would be really appricated, thank you!
I'm actually right now revisiting this as I'm currently fitting the sprung suspension base for the driver's seat, and I've had a few messages regarding the P38 seats lately so I will up date on here with a video, regarding the memory seats, the memory control is within the BEMC which wakes up with the original Range Rover key fob (unlocking the doors) so getting the memory function working with out a key fob will be impossible, but as the only driver of my van, I've only had to set up the seat once and never had to readjust again 😉👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan Thanks Mark! So if I am understanding correctly, when the ignition is turned off the seats will stay in the same place as you left them? This is where I think im getting confused about the memory side of things haha Presumably the memory is just for you to set ypur own pre sets and have them saved? Not fussed about that if so!
Yes that's correct Joe, once the ignition is off the seats remain in the same position, the memory function is only there for different drivers bud 😉👍👍👍.
Hi Iveavan, great video,in process of converting my seats to power them up. does the relays you use have a diode in them. A part number would be helpful. TIA Brian.
Hi Brian, No, positive or ground can go on respective pins and swapped around and it still will work (as in the opposite way around) this is the relay set that I used via Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B085NQC4JH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RDm9EbJBNXYSP
😉👍👍👍.
Did you ever do a video where you show fitting the drivers seat on the air sprung base? They look great, iv got a ex snap on van seats are like new but i have a set of black p38 electric leathers seats here so looks like a worthwhile upgrade.
Hey up, bud. No, I didn't, unfortunately, but! I am going to re-visit the seats again! So I'll add that to my list 😉👌👍👍👍...
@Iveavan that would be great I will try to keep a eye out. Your video will be a great help. Thank you
Great vid
What truck did the seat bases come from?
Are they air sprung fed from a compressor?
Cheers bud 😉👍. It's mechanically sprung seat baze, I've only have the one that's on the drivers seat, it's a original Iveco Daily base which was originally fitted to the van when I bought it 😎👌👍👍👍.
Brilliant stuff. Too bad about the rear partition there (probably) getting in the way for really reclining.
Thank you matey 😊👍, I consulted with Ash Pollard regarding the wall and his seats, and his are set further back by about 6 inches by the looks of it, with mine you can still recline back, but obviously not all the way. I kinda need the wall because it will be used "all year round", in places like Scotland, Yorkshire, and the lakes, so it needed to be installed for when the climate is less inviting outside. 😉👍👍👍
@@Iveavan Yeah, sealing off the front with the single-glaze windows up there probably helps a lot with thermals. I'm thinking a very heavy-duty curtain instead, and an extra hot air outlet blowing in to the front cabin. As long as all the windows in the back are dual-glaze acrylic motorhome windows, and the walls are very insulated, I suspect the heat loss from the front doesn't have to be critical if you have something like a Webasto diesel heater. But never tried it of course.
Should make a drawer under the seats for some bit of extra storage (i.e. for jumper cables).
Yes, an great idea! Maybe something I do / or revisit once the build is done, thank you 😉👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan thanks so much
a greatvideo, tryingto do this in my bedford cf, can you point me to thewiring photos and pin locations? Thanks, Mark
Thank you, the only info is within this video unfortunately as I didn't take photos of the wiring or pin locations, cheers 👌👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan ive worked it out, and blimey got the seats working. justneed to build the reay adn wireiti permenantly, great jog, much appreciated, M
Hiya I’ve recently bought a Vivaro to convert into a camper. After watching this excellent video I got some fabulous Discovery seats. I’ve cut off the excess plugs/connectors the only problem I have is sorting the control wires on the seat. I’ve tried everything I can think of continuity, resistance etc. Whilst moving the controls nothing shows on the tester any ideas? Thanks in advance Gary.
You should be showing some kind of reading 🤔, nothing on the pins on the back of the switches themselves?
When trying buzzer I get a reading of 1086 ish. When I use ohms I get .846. Though on trying the switches nothing happens.
0.8ohms is that with the switch in the on position? 🤔, does seem to be a little low, can you compare with the passenger seat switches ? What ohms are you getting with the multimeter prongs touching together? Usually its 1.00 ohms Sounds like it could an issue with your seat switch bank, not knowing the disco seats nor ever worked on them I'm not sure what wire colours to test from, but I'd imagine it be earth switching, so find the one wire that feeds all the switches. (So the wire that feeds all the tracks) unless it's that wire that has come adrift / undone from the track? once you've got that you should be able to bell out the other wires in each function bud 😉👍
@@Iveavan Thanks buddy you’re a star.😀👍
Hi mark ...is there a way just to do forward and back and recline...for the driver ...seems like alot of work for a novice like me....got the seats not knowing what was involved 🤣
Yes & no unfortunately, by following the diagram towards the end of the video may help by screen shots regards "wiring" 😉👍.
@@Iveavan I'll get there eventually ,thanks for your help 👍 cheers
Hi mate, would it be possible to get the heated seat function to work on these seats also?
Hi Joe, I never went any further into getting the heated seats or the air pump working for the bolsters, but I'll shall be revisiting the seats in the future, as I have the sprung seat base to fit, so it would make sense for me to get those too working 🤔😉👍👍👍.
Did you get any airbag warning lights from not having the seatbelt pretensioners plugged in? Any help much appreciated.
No, because my van doesn't have pretensioners bud, probably best visiting an iveco daily forum to see what resistors to use, in order for the light to go out 😉👍👍👍...
IVEAVAN Thank you for replying , top job on the van. I’ve ordered some 2.7ohm resistors from the info in an Iveco forum. Thanks again.
Hi mate I saw in another video that you had replaced the aluminium from this video with a sprung base. I'm doing my own van build and I've been inspired by your brilliant idea. Could you tell me where they came from?
P. S your videos are brilliant
Cheers matey😉👍. I already had the sprung base from the old seats that were in the van, so I recycled it from those bud 👌👍👍👍.
Would it be possible to fit passenger seat to replace the drivers seat, to avoid the pfaff
Ive just reread the comment, I think I know what you mean🤔 to obtain a passenger seat from RR and try to fit that onto the drivers side?
Great video mate, I’m attempting to fit Land Rover Discovery seats from a 2018 model, so your video was a big help. Quick question, did you use a relay for each seat function? I.e. each seat switch had a relay or is it a relay for each function as some of the switches on the seat have a 4-way operation.
Hi Jason 😁👍. Yes I've used each relay per function, only recently managed to get the tilt forward and backwards and up and down so motors are working opposite direction, which I haven't had chance to update yet bud 😉👍.
@@Iveavan thanks for the response. I’ll let you know how it goes 👍
Hi quick question, struggling to get the seat controls to do anything. Did you say that the control switches needs two earths? Or just one? I’ve cut back all of the original plugs for the motors and ready to start adding the relays. Thanks in advance 👍
@@JFleming2011 I earth switched via the relays, so one earth from the seat mounting point up to the relays (as in the wiring diagrams) and one live is needed from a fused source from the vehicle battery 😉👌👍.
Go backwards and forwards on Driver's seat😂it looked tight as it was
That's the factory seat hight with the sprung suspension 😉👍.
Fantastic video fella and explaining what goes where... Would you know what seats would fit a 2003 Renault master please?
Just subbed too......
Thank you 😊👍, I'd be honest, I'm not familiar with the Renault master van, but if you wanted to change the seats and handy with tools, I suppose the list of seats could be endless providing you have space, the Range Rover seats are quite wide mind you, I choose these seats, as, nobody has done a "RUclips" video on fitting these seats in a van, I did wonder why 🤔😅. There's only one other video on here, "how to wire them up", a different way from how I did it mind you. Thanks for subscribing matey 😉👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan thank you fella for your speedy and very honest and helpful advice I must admit being a jack of all trades but my main strengths are being a grease monkey lol and house sparky but am very new to the van build community and I am just working on meeting like minded people and bounce ideas about.. Well, sounds like your more then capable in installing the " Range Rover" seats to me bud (if they will fit) 😉, how about a set of Renault grand scenic seats or something similar 🤔, preferably something with armrests I'd would go for myself, something of comfort, for those long journeys matey 🤔😉👍👍👍
@@Iveavan think I will have a go at the range rover p38 seats as I've been looking and I do feel that they would fit in my wagon as it's a pretty big waggon being a ex ambulance then was a disabled minibus looks similar size to yours as its a high top and lwb so I shall let you know how I get on as I will be making videos on me channel and once again thanks for the advice fella much appreciated
@@daysgoneby4543 great, I shall keep an eye out to see how it goes bud 😊👍👍👍.
Hi, great instructions, in your opinion do you think you could retrofit like this to any electric seat ?
Cheers matey 👌👍, yes, it could be implemented to any type of electric seats, some do come with only needing and ground and a live feed to make them work, but due to the RR using the BeCm (like most modern vehicles of today) and requiring an IR single to turn it on, (unless you have the keys for the seats) you'd have to go down a route like this to make them work unfortunately 😉👌👍.
Thanks for reply, I'm just gathering info ATM as will be starting a build in the new year, never thought about the iveco, was thinking of a crafter or sprinter would you say it's as good if not better as them , are the engines good for big miles, any info would be greatly appreciated 👍
@@martincooper2642 having had a Mercedes Vito, VW Transporter and the Iveco. The Iveco wins hands down for me, they are built like Tonka Trucks. Robust, they do take a beating. More truck like then van, with plenty on the road having covered beyond 500 thousand miles. Okay, they are a little agricultural to drive, not as comfortable (without the seats and air suspension) as the Merc of VW. But! It's very reliable compared to my vito and transporter (which were all brand new and I had those for 5 years each). The Merc was the most unreliable one with endless trips to the dealer (who gave terrible service) the VW was more reliable but uncomfortable to drive and gave me terrible back pain. So for me Iveco 1st, VW 2nd & Merc last! 😉👍.
@@Iveavan thanks for your advice, will certainly be giving them a look towards end of year, the deal is I've gotta finish the house first lol, thanks again
Hi Mark, firstly I hope I have got your name right, I've fitted the passenger seat into the van today, it looks and works great, I'm about to fit the drivers seat but I'm not sure about the airbag wire (not on the passenger seat) how did you overcome this, sorry to be a pest but you made the video so understandable and would be great to have your comments before i start many thanks again, Cliff
No worries bud, yes, it's Mark 😉👍. My van doesn't have air bags so had no warning lights to contend with, so I didn't touch nor wire my air bags up. I don't know if your vehicle is a newer one or not? Or whether you have an issue with your air bag light being on?
Thanks, Mark, I will check with an auto electrician before swoping the drivers seat, there must be a way, the Rover seats are to comfy to miss out, thanks again, regards, Cliff
Lovely project. Why did you want to have the seat so high up? It look like you needed only one of aluminium bracket. Not two on top of each other
Thank you 😉👍, Because it was much more of a comfortable position for me to drive the van ( lower down felt cramped for me). it is actually sat at the original height of the original factory fitted seat with the spring suspension base too 😉👍👍👍...
Sorry if you've explained in another video, but are you a trained mechanic or engineer? Do you think with practice and lots of research, an amateur could do something like this? The video is exceptionally well explained, thank you. I even said 'wow' at the end when you had the seats in place and covered. Excellent finish 👍
Thank you matey 😉👍, this did take quite a bit of research going through wiring schematics of the P38. It was suggested to me that not everyone can weld, so I went down the none welding route for the base, wiring it up the same as mine anyone most probably could do, just the tilt forward and back is probably the complicated bit where you have to cross over the relays to do the job properly, I was going to show that in another vlog but not got around in doing that yet bud, and yes, I'm a engineer of 30 years now bud 😉👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan ah that's great. I'm just a rank amateur happy to learn from the masters on RUclips until I'm brave enough to have a go myself 😂 love your channel
Cheers matey 😎👌👍👍👍.
bloody good job there! friends done same with jag seats in his
I bet b&q robbed your wallet, find a local metals place usually called xyz engineering or whatever and you can get it 1/4 the price from their offcuts bin. although i'm not an ally fan, i'd have gone with some 40x30 mild steel or similar
Cheers matey 😉👍, B&Q even with a trade will rob you 😆, I need to keep the weight down as I'm carrying 120lt water, 130kg power bank, alloy ain't the perfect material to use I agree, I probably will revisit this, once I know my final weight of the van bud 😉👍👍👍
Wow, excellent Job Mark,..............the only concern I had whilst watching the vid was the bottom of the steering wheel being too close to the seat (height wise)?
Thank you bud 😊👍, it's actually lower then the original factory fitted seat (mine had air suspension drivers seat) , by about an inch, you do sit quite high in the Iveco for some reason bud, I'm comfortable in it at least matey 😉👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan I bet the range rover seats are really comfortable, but not heard of a air suspension seat = sounds interesting (compressed air? hydraulics?) - good luck with the rest of the van project.
They are more Mechanical damping then driven by air bud, but for some reason, they were called air ride seats 🤷♂️, a hand pump for the bolsters. These are sooo much more comfortable then the original seats matey and cheep, and being a " Yorkshire man" works with me 😁😉👍👍👍
@@Iveavan Cheap & Yorkshire Man - LOL.
@IVEAVAN Okay when you wire all the relays on one side you have + and - left but how does the relay system end on the other side.
Do you mean on the seat switch end or the power end ?
You said that the relay system has positive and negative on one side and one for the motor and one for the switch. I get all that 😅. What i dont understand is when you connect all the relays on after the other what happens with the last one... it closes the circuit by itself right ?
@djMitef nothing, that's the end of it, as you can't link to any more relays. So, second to last, just links to the last one.
Yep alright thanks for replying to my silly question 😅 Great video, you are helping fit Defender 3 seats in ford transit mk7 👌🤙🤙
Don't worry about it. No question is a silly question 👌👍. Just beware for tilting. The motors have to work opposite rotational way of each other when tilting forward or backwards 👌👍.
I wish I could swap my brain with yours!
Hi Mark I don’t suppose you know the size of the Allan key to remove the drivers side seat on the slides so the base of the seat is still there do you Thanks
Hey up bud, I'll have to check tomorrow mate, top off my head, I couldn't tell you to be honest, it was a while ago when I did the seats 😉👍.
Thanks Mark . Have a good evening
@@ivecamperbuild_thomas4084 I'm pretty sure they were 6mm possibly 5mm mate, I think I've thrown the old bolts away now, seeing I can't find them, probably best buying a Allen key set, as you will need them for other stuff to remove on the van bud I'd imagine 😉👍
Thanks Mark I have got a Alan key set but I think they must be the old type and not in Milli meters, I will pick a set up today thanks again Mark for your prompt reply.
@@ivecamperbuild_thomas4084 no worries matey, everything I've come across on the iveco is in metric measurements bud 😉👍
Hi, have listened to the video but am not sure of the colour of the earth wires on the two switches on the drivers seat to do a continuity check, please can you help? Thanks, Cliff
Hi Cliff, I purposely left out what wire colours did what. As I was doing research, it looks like Range Rover changed the way they wired up their seats at least 3 times along with wire colour changes. If you can find one wire that feeds all switches I'd go for that one for earth switching bud 😉👍👍👍...
Thanks Mark, super informative video, everything you explained with the motor's has worked well, just having a little difficulty in finding which wires on the two switches do what, I seem to get continuaty from all wires, obviously something I'm not doing right, I will get there in the end many thanks, Cliff
From memory (it's been awhile since I did my seats mind you😬)
The base up and down / tilt forward & back switch should be one feed wire (ground). Both motors for the base should work the same direction when going up and down. But they should work opposite way from each other when tilting forward and backwards (this switch over is done by the relays, forward motor base up relay energized, back motor base down relay energized and vice versus to tilt the opposite way.)
The back rest tilt switch should be one ground feed wire but joined up with the base feed wire for ground. Head rest the same. The air bolsters is one positive and one ground wire. The heater eliminate, I didn't wire that up due to the eliminate was not showing any ohms (obviously a break within the heater element somewhere) 😉👍...
Thanks again Mark, I will try what you have said, so kind of you to help
Cracked it Mark, followed exactly how you explained, all working great, your a genius, many thanks Cliff
Hi Mark, how did you wire the massage in? Is that just power?
Hi Richard, mine didn't come with that option unfortunately bud 🤔👍👍👍
Ah ok! I’ll just play with it then with some 12v! See what happens
I'd imagine it just needs an live wire on the motor and an ground switch, but in not having that option I haven't looked into it 🤔😉👍....
@@Iveavan are those two soft switches on your panel not massage?
No, for the air pump for the side and back bolsters cushions bud, mine just blow up and deflate, ground switched again but providing live to the pump in the back rest, and air release switch. I think..... If my memory serves me well! Its some really thin pink and gray wire's 🤔 but I could be wrong🤔👍...
Really interesting video Mark. Quick question, do you know how the seats compare regarding weight, just wondering whether you knew what the Rover items weighed? Cheers.
Thank you matey 😊👍. To be honest no I don't matey, I lost a double bench seat, so one range rover seat will probably compensate for that, and I had the suspension seat for the drivers side, which probably weigh the same as the seat I replaced it with, hazard a guessing 20kg to 25kg with frames each. But that's just guessing bud 😉👍👍👍.
@@Iveavan Cheers Mark, I'm very close on my weight calculations, but those seats look lush!
@@michaell8835 that's why I used alloy for the subframe extension, trying to keep the weight down myself on the van bud, I'm personally losing weight doing this build, so shouldn't be an issue 🤔😅😁👍👍👍
Aluminum is not as strong as steel & softer... stay safe plz
Yes I do agree with you bud, If they is an issue with the MOT regarding the seat frame, I will include it in a future video, the extention part of the seat frame is pretty much secured via 6 bolts (sleeved to prevent crushing of the aluminium box section, including the seat mounts them self's ). Car manufacturers are now moving to aluminium frames such like Alfa Romeo, Mercedes, and Jaguar. But if they is an issue, I will revisit this bud 😉👌👍👍👍
@@Iveavan I did some research on this previously, and found that some seat rails in minibuses and taxis are made from aluminium. Not saying that's in all cases, but I did come across an instance. Plus, alloy wheels seem to hold up quite well, no doubt steel are stronger though, but heavier.
@@michaell8835 and in welfare buses , its used quite often, like I said to Allen, I may "revisit" this in the future, as I've got a suspension base for the seat, so the base may go completely, just need to be cracking on with the rest of the build for now 😁👍👍👍
@@Iveavan Cheers Mark, keep up the good work.
wouldnt it be easier to just place a recliner chair in the van,and save hours of useless work?It all seemed such a waste of time
Wouldn't it be easier just to chuck 30 to 40 k and buy a motorhome, and save all of this useless time?
Some people prefer electric seats, some prefer manual, either way, it's going to take time to do 🤷♂️, but as you eluded to, it's a waste of time, so this video helped you out, by answering your own question, yeah?
You can't go sit in the recliner when you're going down the road, driving. These seats should be comfortable. Also, a recliner would use up insane amounts of space. Personally I would prefer this setup, especially with the rear partition removed and the chairs on swivels...
Croft Agreed 👍🏻
@@Iveavan oooo someone got out of bed on the wrong side
@@toppertruthio haha, yes I did 😅, you're entitled to your opinion, and I respect that 😉👍👍👍
all the comfort of a range rover in an iveco ,,,, cant go wrong great video
