When I watched this episode in '92, I didnt realize what his grampa was going thru. I found out in 2018, 65 years. Nothing so final and depressing as when you realize you have to give up your independance. Neuropathy, losing ability to apply the brakes.
    I wish there were reruns.
    Wonder Years was a G R E A T . S E R I E S!! Great cast, great writers and story lines..

RIP David Huddleston/ Albert Arnold. Watching this again after 30 years has brought tears to my eyes. I miss that show more than I realized.

I remember my first car 1988 Ford Taurus. It sat in my grandmother's driveway. until the summer of 96. I bought it off of her for $100. I remember I ended up spending quite a lot of money on that car in repairs. But it got me from point A to point B and taught me a lot about car repair.

“I’ll always remember my first car because it was my grandfathers last”.
“Grandpas car” was one of many outstanding episodes in this great series. David Huddleston was great in this role.
The scene at the end where he says “make me an offer” and the proceeds to sell the car to Kevin for $1 was really moving. You could tell it was hard for him. I always wondered what happened to the 1965 Olds f85 as well as the 1968 Polara wagon. I’d like to think they still survive out there somewhere.

grandpa Arnold was one of the best cast members in the wonder years. i remember how kevin described him in one episode and it fit him perfectly. he seemed to get more jolly and had a real zest for life as he got older 😂

I have my mom's last car, a 2008 Camry. I unfortunately inherited it almost 10 years ago. My adult kid is driving it now. This episode reminds me of her and her dad, my grandfather. Rest in peace, mom, dad, and grandpa!

I still have my first car, a 1968 Mustang conv. Acquired, 1984 for use at college. Later kept it around at our family beach house for summer use-only, it wasn't a regular driver. Living in the city, I just rented if I needed a car. In 2021 I inherited my mothers last 2 cars, a Subaru and a banged up old Ford. Cars number 2 and 3 for me.

My uncle taught me how to drive my first car , which was standard…. He would die in a car wreck , a school bus ran a light , the driver was late to pick kids up. An 18 wheeler was coming through and thought the bus might be filled with kids….so it was either he plows into the bus …..or my uncle . RIP Larry. Miss you and love you .

It would have been better in my opinion if the dad came out and just looked at the car and who was driving and think. Happy with a hint of that old man gave him the car, I knew I should fight to drive him back. Now Kevin come inside and let's call the insurance people.

I know it’s not nearly as sentimental, but my grandpa’s last car was my dad’s 8th(or later). By the time my grandpa stopped driving, all my cousins and I had bought our own cars.

I Grow up with to grandpas that was wealthy that didn’t give a shit about their fucking kids let alone the grandkids . Born 86 , Half of parents are gone and grandparents have left, I like the wonder years but now every child has the same life! There’s more to life than older you get and everybody knows!! Generations are meant to be progress new understanding, new Blood. If we live in the past will never see progress!!
