The fact that your son gets to come to work and play with a real crane has got to be awesome for him. I love nothing more than when my daughter wants to come help me in the shop. Best times in the world.
Very nice of you to let him join in and run crane. He did outstanding job. Please keep influencing him into the trades. We desperately need qualified personal. If he stays with you he can name his salary and location, as long as he stays with it. But good job in raising a great young man that you can be proud of, keep him close! Semper fi
That is so cool. I do not know if I am going to have a boy or girl because we haven't tried yet but when I was a little kid I loved big equipment and stuff. I still have yet to buy a Euclid . The green ones that they were using to build the turnpike on the way from Pittsburgh to Pottstown back when I was little. I also need to find a crane truck like yours with a great service body. Keep up the great work my friend!! You have a wonderful son. Yeah, if he can pull the pin out it might be little loose.
Pretty darn awesome that you got your boy with you my dad was in construction and that's what I grew up around riding in dump trucks and on heavy equipment and having Dad teach me about the trade It's cool to see this you don't see it too often anymore
This brings back some great memories of working with my son when he was very young. He always wanted to know how things worked. He is 37 now and we still work together, it’s an awesome experience to watch him learn through the years. 😁👍🇦🇺
Some people complain that some jobs require 5 to 10 years experience while Appling for jobs. Then they ask how am I suppose to get this experience, well this is how it's done and how it used to be done. You get your kids involved at a young age. Great job
That’s a great way to keep him interested in the trade and some very valuable experience. Next is fab and then welding unless dad moves that around to silt clientele’s needs. I know my dad let me loose in the shop and I built myself a set of equal length headers to install a L88 427 Chevy in a 1957 Chevy Nomad when that was a pipe dream for many before the kits came out that copied my design of motor mounts and headers. Thanks dad
Amazing you let your son get involved in your work. Your lad must of really loved controlling the Crain. Bless him. Your a good dad doing this, he will remember that. God bless you both. Enjoyed video, great repair work. Thanks for sharing, 👍👍👍👍👍THUMBS UP👍👍👍👍👍 Anthony, uk
I don't have a kid but seeing this made me so happy to leave my job and get back to business for myself. Thanks for the work you put into sharing you experience and wisdom.
Your son showed excellent aptitude on understanding how levers work 👏. Excellent repair, love the slide test after welding the bosses in, precision fabrication. Thanks for sharing guys.
This is to me great parenting! Let the kid try things and learn about stuff. I also like the fact that it's raining and he doesn't care. My daughter had the same when she was young..she just went out without a coat in the rain or cold and had fun doing kids stuff. I don't even know how i got here, but i liked it!
That's sweet to see that young man brave the weather to be with his dad. He just need to please learn not to stand under or very close to that boom when operating it. Chains swing unexpectantly from side to side when least expected. But he has the right teacher by his side.
I have been watching you for over a year and seen you take on the most shittyst jobs and they look like a rose when your done But i just got even more respect for you from getting your son thrilled to be helping dad at work the thrill he will never forget ! Great work DAD !
Great video man!. I always appreciate how the same place and position can be found when welding in new hollow bar. Seems like such tight tolerances and so many ways to have it out of alignment and bind.
Just started the process of getting into my local Millwright Union. I've been watching you're videos. Love the stuff. I'm learning a lot before even touching a welder. Also wanted to point out this video has twice as many views as you've got subscribers. Keep up the good work! Edit: I made this comment before watching the video and just wanted to add that loved watching little dude learn from one side to the other after you showing him the different angles to pull those pins out.
I really enjoy watching father and son time. Great job on introducing him to the trades. With those crane skills he could be operating big cranes in no time at all! Oh and stay dry my friend. My in-laws live in Costa Mesa (where I’m originally from) and are telling me how bad the rains are.
I went with my dad as well, an Operating Engineer.. I always wore a HARD HAT and have my whole life............... Also, my dad knew just where the closest emergency room was.. Have fun
Great to see your son with you and able to share your knowledge with him. Hopefully someday he’ll be a chip off the old block and take over his dad’s business. Great video though and great work as always.👍🏼🤩🫡
Good thing you have got a lil help er. Where's bowser the fluffy whimenhimer. What if the child forgets his napkin at lunch? Should have the 4 legged face washer.Have a great day.
And another heavy machine is back in service. Raining cats and dogs, Now that would be a sight. That young lad learns quick, i was as thick as a bankers wallet when i was his age lol.
watching you let your son get that hands on is truly amazing how many kids does he know that gets to operate a real crane not like the fisher price ones other kids have got and to get his hands dirty and getting stuck in honestly amazing kids very lucky to have a great dad like you
great job dad I'm glad that you include your son he's going to look back and be thankful for it. I wish I had a father that would have done stuff like that with me. That's the reason i would take both of my kids to do stuff with me. The only issue is now they're teens and its not fun anymore they look at it as work now
yes , it is all fun and games at this age , he is setting himself up for challenge and success . when he gets older this will come naturally. keep teaching and showing him life challenges before this crazy world corrupts him.
Man, when that bucket rolls back and hits it's stops with a solid clanging THUD you know it's dialed in just right and no longer sloppy...daggum! Great job! Keep em coming!!!!
Your son is a good crane operater glad to see him with you helping he also handled that pry bar pretty good also removing those pin with assistance of dad ! 👍👍
Awesome work again! You have probably been ask this a thousand times but did you go to school for welding and how long have you been doing? Watch your videos makes me wanna learn how to weld! Thanks for taking the time and showing us your skills!
How cool that you had your little helper with you . We need more people like you who encourage the youngsters to have a go at something instead of just watching. It gives them a good feeling you see that in his excitement. Priceless thanks Ruth south Wales GB 😁
As an equipment operator, I'm not sure how things get this bad. The only part on my machine that ever gets this bad is the clam to bucket mounts, and they are never fixed anyway. Crackwise, I aim to catch them when they're just a hairline()and once found, I refuse to run the machine(another operator literally tore the arms off the machine and it's usually the repair welds that are cracking), so a little grinding and some bubblegum on top lasts for about a year.
I used to go all over the place with my dad, as a kid. From making animal feed and delivering it to landscaping/grassing. Riding the tractor was the best part. Once I was older he put me to work. 🥵 😅
Bubble gum a.k.a. booger Weld. Always amazes me how you cut away things like those pin-bosses and maintain some sense of location so new parts line-up.
Reminds me of when I was that age. I went to work with my heavy duty mechanic father often on weekends and was the tool fetcher. I got good enough by the time I was 6 dad would take me out of school to go fix trucks that had broken down in the Fraser canyon of BC. Some of the most memorable times of my young life. Give you an idea of the years an 8V71 Detroit at 315 hp was the big power of the day.
This reminded me of me and my son when he was little working in my welding shop. Good job as usual and there is hope for California and America with men like you.
Wow Greg your little man awesomeness has been sowed in him by you sir! Kids love variety in all they do he looks so happy being with his DAD! Outstanding Greg💯👈🏻🫵🏻
Great you have some time with the kids. Take advantage of every minute .....you know they love being dads helper. You turn around one day and he’s 17 asking to barrow your pickup.

Love the content. I remember when my boy was 5 (23 now) and we did projects together. Good times
That little guy will never ever forget this kind of stuff!
Father son memories… I have plenty! Enjoy!
So much better for him than video games. I grew up in a family business and the years I worked with my Dad were some of my best.
Hello FROM TEXAS! It's nice to see your kid(s) involved so that way they appreciate later a good work ethic!
Два настоящих мужика за работой. Любой отец гордился бы таким сыном!!! Храни вас бог !
Super cool seeing your boy out helping you. He's pulling pins like a pro. Those are gonna be some awesome memories for him later in life. Love it!
No rain gear my kind of guy!
That boy has a truck to play with.

We have to include the kids in what we do. Our skill set is disappearing from the trade every day. Great job man!
@T H I hear ya, we can’t get people to work let alone have a useful skill set.
Sir I would have died and gone to a Heaven to had a Father like you! Your son will grow up to be a great Father just like you.
Great video! The slave labour guys are gonna be mad LOL!
I’m 56 years old and watching this brings back great memories of going to work with my late father, he was an engineer/machinist. 👍👍
That is so awsome seeing that big guy at work!!! Working hard not afraid of the rain...
Great helper manning the remote

What a joy having a son is. I bet he got a great daddy
I wish I could take my boy on the job site. Lucky little guy
The Ultimate Tonka toy..
Damn he knows the concept of how it works, he’s going to be a good hand!
Great stuff with your son, he was happy helping Dad. 😊
Your son showed excellent aptitude on understanding how levers work 👏.

re climate change, I understand that California's woes are due to decades of neglect and terrible land management practices...
Keep the videos coming!! I always learned a ton working with my parents. Glad to see you are a good parent too!!!
This is what singel parent moms can't teach their sons. Only the greates fathers on earth or the military can.😲👍👍
Awesome to have your son helping. Great bonding time.
Your apprentice
Is ruff around the edges
He's got to find the art of it..
This will take time
But at least you have help, And a willing body.
This is so cool reminds me of working with my grandpa on his equipment when I was yours sons age
Best video game, EVER! Good job dad! 😃
... keep it up lil dudes gonna wan't $40 an hour before he's 7...
How did you find a customer that let fix a job right? LOL

These will be the memories he'll remember for the rest of his life.
If kids would stay that age, life as a parent would be so much more fun. My daughter will be 34 this year. I miss those days.
Reminds me when I was a kid working with my grandfather in his shop. You are a good dad.
Wait until he sends you the bill for the work he did 👍
Your 5 year old using that pry bar kinda looks like a video I saw recently where a really large torque wrench was being used....🤣
He's a natural just like his dad..
Ur 5 year old seems to have more common sense than most millennials

Buen trabajo!!! Saludos desde Salamanca, España.
"Bubble gum weld". Is that how you refer to an inferior job? 😂
More like a cover up weld that isn’t really doing anything.
watching you let your son get that hands on is truly amazing how many kids does he know that gets to operate a real crane not like the fisher price ones other kids have got and to get his hands dirty and getting stuck in honestly amazing kids very lucky to have a great dad like you
Thanks man. Your helper needs a pay raise and a truck like that of his own.😊😊😊 Dad will have some serious competition.❤
That little guy of yours has a good head on his shoulders, picks up on things very quickly 🤩
great job dad I'm glad that you include your son he's going to look back and be thankful for it. I wish I had a father that would have done stuff like that with me. Semper fi my brother. Bring in the younger generation to experience the feel of completing a project like this
Your truck will be the next show and tell at his school. Bring an extra battery, as the crane will be the center of attention !!!!!!!!!!!
yes , it is all fun and games at this age , he is setting himself up for challenge and success . when he gets older this will come naturally. keep teaching and showing him life challenges before this crazy world corrupts him.
Get him some leather gloves a helmet and safety glasses snd tell him 4: 30 is work time. Ha Ha
Now that is the best helper to have. Looks like dad will make a good sidekick for The BOSS🤑
Sorry but at 63 I don’t think you could pay me enough to work out in rain like that.
You’ve gotta love some Heavy Machinery!!!
What a great dad!!! Love watching your channel !!! Keep up the great work!!!!
Man, when that bucket rolls back and hits it's stops with a solid clanging THUD you know it's dialed in just right and no longer sloppy...daggum!
Great job!
Keep em coming!!!!
He's helping me as much as he's helping you. All our futures look brighter.
so wonderful you are letting your Son run the crane........you are a lucky Dad and he is a very Lucky Son........
Fantastic your son is getting such a charge out of all this. Teach him young. He has a great teacher.
Your son is a good crane operater glad to see him with you helping he also handled that pry bar pretty good also removing those pin with assistance of dad ! 👍👍
Ive been taking my son to work in the filed since he was 4 years old. Amazing experience
Awesome work again! You have probably been ask this a thousand times but did you go to school for welding and how long have you been doing? Watch your videos makes me wanna learn how to weld! Thanks for taking the time and showing us your skills!
No welding school. All self taught. I started welding when I was 8. So that’s about 28 years of experience.
Lucky wee laddie to have a REAL crane !
He got the second pin straight away fast learner
It’s only through a kids eyes that makes working in the rain fun. Good on you for bringing your helper along.
How cool that you had your little helper with you . We need more people like you who encourage the youngsters to have a go at something instead of just watching. It gives them a good feeling you see that in his excitement. Priceless thanks Ruth south Wales GB 😁
In addition to your welding skills, you also seem to be a very good machinist and mechanic! Please keep the videos coming.
That little guy was having a good time!
how do you line up the bushings and pins so when the part re-attaches everthing lines up real nice?
You take exact measurements before you cut out the old ones.
I’ve never seen anything like the portable press you used to push the bushings into the loader arms. Great work.
teaching the next generation awesome
"Now, we're just here to be memories for our kids." - and your kid will cherish his memories of you so much. Best of luck to you and your family.
Great video. By the time your son turn 16, he will have more than 10 years of experience in the field and will know all the In and Out of the trade.
Raising your kid right.
Nice job and cute kid! ❤
Just like COMPUTER games in kindergarten create many IT people...this young fella will associate fun...time with Dad with work.HOW KOOLL IS THAT 😂

Where do you buy pin stock? What is it called?
Online. Chrome bar.
I used to go all over the place with my dad, as a kid. From making animal feed and delivering it to landscaping/grassing. Riding the tractor was the best part. Once I was older he put me to work. 🥵 😅

Who is gonna to believe your son about how big his toys actually are ???????????? LOL. Im jelous !!!! Congrats man !!!!
Water falling from the sky in March...but it's not white and frozen....I am confused. ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ 😁

I figured CA had pretty strict child labor laws????? Getting him started when he finds it fun will pay dividends later.!!!!
