Hi there I work on these machines only hydraulic side but just to see what work has been done to maintain these machines is awesome to watch. This the stuff they won't teach. So much to learn. Thanks for the video
When you used the Dog Clamp and Wedge to persuade the new skin to lie flush for welding I was reminded of the old style ships hatches. They used to have beams across the hatch, removable of course, and wooden hatch boards laid across the beams. Then tarpaulin covers were placed onto the hatch boards to provide water protection. Not just one but several tarpaulins, did the newest or oldest go on top, several schools of thought about that of course. At the sides the tarpaulin was neatly folded and secured at regular intervals with a sort of dog clamp and wooden wedge about nine inches long. To try and protect the tarpaulin from hammer blows the wedge was placed with the long side against the tarpaulin so the short side was angled off a little and the hammer did not need to contact the cloth. I guess with metal you are not concerned by the potential for wear but it does make striking the wedge a little easier. Thanks for taking the time to produce the videos.
EXCELLENT JOB !!!! .......... Very nice of them to power wash it and park on concrete for you to work on........ keep up the great work. I love watching these videos.
Love your format ,extensive explanation and all work shown is in fast forward. Obviously the best way to watch your work and catch all the details not to mention your smooth and steady camera work . No seasickness pills needed here.
So basically, we’re gonna rebuild half the grader. So, yeah. Let’s get started. 😂😂 That’s a staggering amount of work. Incredible. Edit: scraper, not grader. My little boys would be aghast at getting those mixed up.
Great videos, I'm a young guy not starting out in welding and fab but new to owning my own business at it, I have a Iove for sweet welding / service trucks and in your old vids I saw the new ram, in this one an awesome big truck , love to see you make a video on your trucks.
@@OFW can't wait mines just a one ton dodge but it looks pretty good and I have alot of the same equipment you show in your videos, I'm in the process of obtaining a line boring set up, that's the direction I really want my business to go, I grew up in a machine shop so I know that trade and I also usto line bore where I worked before going ony own, any advice on that area ?
@@adambrewer4400 if you don’t have any line boring equipment yet I would suggest getting the bets you can afford. I sold all my BRS stuff and went to Climax. There will be another line boring video coming up.
@@OFW yea I've used climax before that's what my previous employer had, from Maine so I've been to the shop and checked out bore repair systems in nh before they were owned by climax, I have a rep now that I'm talking to about some York portable tools out of Texas, they seem very well made and from what I have seen, climax for a beginner set is just out of my price range that's all.
Pretty much the same as I was doing at CNR railway but you are much more into everything but we were into rebuilding, straightening and reinforce fish plating center sills
Nice work! Nice video, thank you.! I thought I was the only one to wear sunglasses while plasma cutting, LOL. What wire are you running? It sure looks like dual shield.
@@OFW looked familiar. I use 71A85, and I love that shit. Stupid easy to run in all positions/directions! I can't wait to see the rig tour. Very nice truck.I will be building a bed to put on a T300, in the near future.
Love the videos...i work in the same jobs in europe, for an employer...but i am thinking on going on my own...still thinking about best way to do it...any advice?!thanks...

I just recently found your channel and I gotta say I love it 😊👍👍 it is exactly what I’m trying to get into albeit slowly but ya gotta start somewhere right lol . I see that You do all MIG and no SMAW, am guessing because of ease of use? Yes? No ? Just curious 👍
Hey we all started somewhere and it wasn’t on the top. I mostly use wire feed because it’s faster. I do stick weld sometimes when it makes sense to me.
Your absolutely right about that , that’s why the ladder starts at the bottom and goes up lol Yeah I actually learned with flux core and it is definitely faster , at my job we do all MIG welding but have an old Linde stick welder that I sometimes knock the cobwebs off of it and lay down some 6011 beads , that thing will test your patience because it has no arc force , or dig, or anything really and it takes the words “ stick welding “ to whole nother level lol
Comment all you want! I typically do that while air is coming out. I feel like it blows away any dirt or obstructions also making sure I can make the cut without hitting anything or the cord getting caught.
Dual shield Lincoln 71A75. In the video I’m running 1/16”. But I also run .045 dual shield and sometimes ER70s6 hard wire depending on the application.
You don't like the Flux core I'm just thinking for having to haul a cylinder around ever where I've got the same set up but it's Lincoln I have duel shield wire now just tried of hauling the cylinder everywhere have you ever us Flux core trying to find some one with experience in this
@@1hydrostatic I have ran plenty of flux core. It’s good. I like how dual shield lays down so I mostly choose to run that. Carrying the bottles around doesn’t bother me because they will already be in the truck.

Great videos and you do very professional repairs! I do this for a living also and after 25 years still enjoy welding equipment.
You should always put a big post under the apron before walking into the bucket. If the apron fell, it would cut you in half.
Great work. Nothing like having all the right tools for the job.
Love the videos! They're top notch. This is the stuff they should be teaching the youth of America 🇺🇸
This guy and his videos reminds me of when I was in a high school trade school for four years. You would be a great instructor, etc, etch
Interesting. I love watching those machines at work. The maintenance on them is interesting
what a fantastic plasma cut on the AR plate......
I found your channel by accident.
You are doing great work and I look forward to seeing more of it.
regards from Hamburg- Germany
How cool! I'd love to see you do a walk-around on your work truck.
Looking at that job just seemed an overwhelming amount of work, but you make it easy. Love the channel.
I buy apron kits, floor kits and other stuff from Steel Unlimited in CA. can't beat the price and time savings
Thanks. I’ll check them out.
Damn that plasma cutter cuts very clean with no rough edges. I didn’t realize they worked that well with clean cuts.
It's basically operator experience there talking many years of experience
Puts a whole new meaning behind skinning a cat
I bought some lifting magnets and love those things. But they were not cheap!
Beautifull service truck 👍👍

That truck crane is awesome 😎
Plate dogs and wedges my favorite. Better then half clamp on difficult plate.
Amazing video brother. One thing though, suggest some knee pads your knees are gonna be wore out and there comfy!
They sell kneepads that fit inside pants that have a double knee-Carhartt is a good brand

Man I just found your channel, awesome job and keep up the great work. 👍
Learning a lot from you man. At least how you improvise and solve problems 👍
Nothing like watching another man weld after having my hood down for 12 hours. Why am i like this???
Nice videos! I’ve been watching you and Isaac! Lots of familiar stuff to me! Lol! Kent Smith Welding.
Nice job, great video. I do the same thing as you- field service welding.
I have done it and I hated it, I'm a shop guy, I guess that makes me a pussy.

Really diggin these videos man
Always have to be careful when cutting floor skin. Some people just start hacking away at it and some wish they still had theirs.
I am amazed at how fast and easy you make this look! How many years do you have in and where did you get your training? Thanks.
I have been welding since I was 8 years old. I have been in this field of work for about 10 years. All self taught. Zero schooling or training.
@@OFW That’s even more amazing than your work! I believe that everyone is talented at something. If they can find it they got it made.
Nice work! Nice video, thank you.! I thought I was the only one to wear sunglasses while plasma cutting, LOL. What wire are you running? It sure looks like dual shield.
Lincoln 71A75 1/16” dual shield with 75/25 gas

How do you price these jobs out? I've watched a bunch of them, and all seem to be different.
All by the hour.
LOL "And i suck at math" LOL i hear ya man i hear ya !
last question when you are gouging with the plasma are using a gouging tip or just regular tip, love the vids
You can use a cutting tip on gouging settings but it won’t last as long and is not as effective. I always use gouging consumables.
Danke .... gruss...
Awesome job!! I learned a lot, Thanks again!!!

Hi thanks for the video. I was wondering what plasma cutter you have and how deep it will cut?
Hypertherm powermax 105. I have sever cut 3” with it.
That looks like a decent machine. Thanks for letting me know
Great videos!
HOT-RAPID-KNIFE through butter is how this plasma cutter performs. How is that possible on steel this thick?
More amps!
nice video....
Great push bumper mod!

What's the boom rating on your crane. You said pull the apron and I was like oh shit, that can't be light.
12,000 lbs at and 30ft straight out it can lift 2,600 lbs.
Wait until you get into a 657.
Done plenty of those lol
What kind of grinding rocks do you use? They seem to work a lot better and last longer than the Norton ones we use
3m cubitron. They are the best I have found.
Sorry to keep commenting. So why do you "dry run" the plasma cutter before you actually begin the cut?
Comment all you want! I typically do that while air is coming out. I feel like it blows away any dirt or obstructions also making sure I can make the cut without hitting anything or the cord getting caught.
Quanto custa um trabalho desses, e quanto tu gasta de material?
How about a truck tour ?
Do you pre heat that t 400 plate ??
Is AR500 always been around before becoming mainstream as a bullet proof target plate?
AR and hardox plate has been around for a long time
👌👌👌👌👍👍
Really enjoy your content been a welder for 15 years keep up good work
What plasma cutter you using
Hypertherm 105
Doesn't adding a thicker bumper plate change the radius of the contact plate, or is that not really an issue?
The contact plate or “push block” has a flat surface. So it doesn’t matter.
Incredible videos! Top of the u tubers! A pleasure to watch! Real projects in the real world! Enjoy everyone of them! I guy has a brain!
Honesty I would like to see the part two
What size of hypotherm do you have?
105
Have not seen you in awhile you ok
Yep. Back at it
do you use hardox on projects
Yes I do
What do you charge for a job like this go for $25K
$135 a hour. I think I had about 12 hours in it
I like the video, but please just stay out of the way of any hydraulics, thats small piece of rubber failing shouldn't be the end of you
What wire do you run and size

and u get it done
did alot 621 pans
Mu price in California $20.000
Is that duel shield or Flux core?
Dual shield
