The watch stays true to its 1940s-1950s vintage tool watch aesthetic. I appreciate the fact that they went with a mecha quartz movement instead of an off the shelf mass produced movement since it not only keeps time better but is also fairly low maintenance. Kudos to the team for building a true homage to the tool watches of yesteryear!
What a shame so many of us didn’t see the initial kickstart campaign, hopefully they will put another batch of watches through, would be quite happy to pay upfront.
I'm looking at my 5170G, and i'm not seeing the difference, sans the movement off course. Great job guys, now put a mechanical moment in it... Viva watchmaking and thank you Marc!!!
The watches are practically perfect in their elegance and beauty. The only prayer I would make to this wonderful brand that has understood what style is, is to make watches without Mecaquarz, but only mechanical/automatic. The price increases I know, but so does the quality of the product in its soul, given that the body, I repeat, is perfect.
Very best of wishes and luck to this starter project and to all the team involved. Beautifully designed timepieces with an aura of a classic retro quality. Great video most enjoyable indeed, thanks!!!
I was able to get in on this Kickstarter deal. When I saw the design features (I'm a vintage guy) I knew it was going to be a great watch. I'm not a Quartz fan but understand how this had to be. Mega-quartz seemed like a great way to go. Looking forward to the watch and the next one!
Your "honest watch making" is a great term from my point of view. It shows the way the watch industry should go after Corona: Watches for middle-class people. They can cost a maximum of 2 months' salary, but deliver a nice design, interesting movements and a good finish. Because there are completely new groups of buyers who proudly wear their mechanical chronograph on the left and their fruit watch phone thing on the right as this kickstarter shows.
Wow, the Tasti Tondi looks very nice, with the white dial and heat blued chrono hands! With respect to looks, they're punching very much higher than their weight and give a nice dress watch aesthetic, but with stealthed quartz accuracy and convenience! I could see that as a cheap daily wear for me.
I've bought the Mr. Grey. Wei Koh said it was way cool & that's good enough for me. A nice detail is Furlan Marri took an accurate, reliable movement and skipped the 6 o'clock display which is normally a 1-hertz ticking seconds display. So it's quartz, but doesn't act like quartz.
It looks good but the similarly to Dan Henry is extremely close. I know they are both vintage inspired. I'd like to know what specific watch inspired both these watches and Dan Henry. 🤔
Really nice video, really nice watches! I love their designs and their design philosophy. As far as I'm concerned these are essentially vintage pieces, except you don't have to baby them.
Fantastic looking watch and yet another for the shopping list. Love the vintage look and the concept of using modern movements. Just a thought, a natural progression would be to have a solar powered mecha-quartz movement. Constant recharging of the battery would certainly be more environmentally friendly. Viva la watchmaking.❤️🙏
Thanks for another one. I love to see that you would feature a sub-four figure watch. And to give it more than a passing glance. I think there is room in the watch world for this kind of hybrid horologie, even beyond mecha-quartz or Grand Seiko.
I dont know talking in switzerland about homage of old patek and vacheron and inside is seiko mvmvt… come on guys you are investing in japan? There is no swiss made here..
having a middle east millionaire financially backing the project definitely helps the sucess lol buys u all the press u need. rapidity of funding is directly corrolated with marketing amount spent not quality of product
Very nice made watch with a very poor movement. This VK64 movement is a comedy in the name of chronograph, having 60 mims in such small sub dial is almost invisible and what is the use of 24 hour in a chronograph. He should have chosen a Swiss quartz movement having 60 seconds, 30 mins and 12 hour traditional chronograph. Then the watch would have been worth to buy.
@@rezah336 I would say like most of the Swiss made watches under 2k budget… most of the big groups have their own facilities in Asia. For me no problem and kudos to them !
How are people so naive that they are falling for this scam of a company.. just because it is fronted by a white face? Ask them to open their manufacture and you'll see how cheap the watches you are buying actually is...

Thanks for this comment and they do have quite a challenge ahead of them but with a very solid start.

Wait for the second edition ;)
This summer their site goes live for limited ordering.
@@watchestv-com yes indeed, can’t wait. Ps. Keep up the amazing work, always look forward to see your new content 🥰🥳
@@Judah.Rosenthal thank you, I’ll keep their pages refreshed and wait 🙏🏻
Well done Andrea, saw the watches in person, the value proposition is insane! :)
Sure is!!!!
I love it. Mechaquartz is vastly under appreciated

You are most welcomed and that will be their next step

I was lucky to get one and i chiselers the gold version. I wish i had bought 2 instead of 1. Cant wait to get mine
Happy for you!
Glad to see your Atmos 540 there, but it isn't running!? Does it need an overhaul? Give me a ring. Perhaps I can Service it live on your show.
It definitely needs a service, feels really sad to see it sit like this ;)
@@watchestv-com well it is only temporarily out of service! It will run again!
I like the small packaging, It can be used for travels.
They got fully funded crazy fast! I cant wait to get mine. I chose the rose gold one. 😁
Yes, really amazing and cool that you got that one, did the same ;)

Like that , like it a lot , Thank you for the great vid
So happy you liked it 👍👍
Thanks Marc Andre 👍.
Always welcome, thanks for this
Good looking watches 👍🏻

Nice, they look like high end automatics.
So beautiful and elegant
how is this not seen as a quartz Patek knock-off?
Awesome video Marc! Which is your favourite watch from Furlan Marri?
I bought the champagne dial one 😉
What is the lug to lug for this watch?
Nice!
Im still on the fence on one hand they really are well designed and detailed and on the other hand its quartz and a totally new brand... lets see
But for the price, not much to argue, but do get your point
I dont know talking in switzerland about homage of old patek and vacheron and inside is seiko mvmvt… come on guys you are investing in japan? There is no swiss made here..
Grigio o Marrone - grey or brown
Big choice ;) should have gotten both
having a middle east millionaire financially backing the project definitely helps the sucess lol buys u all the press u need. rapidity of funding is directly corrolated with marketing amount spent not quality of product
Man that is what my business needs! Lol
求中文字幕!
Much rather buy a pre owned vintage hand wind for the same price than wear a quarts
PP homage
👍
Cheap Patek imitations, no originality, no middleman, all the “savings” passed on to you! FMD!

They didn’t want to go full quartz but i understand your point
it's just a chinese watch
How so? It has a Seiko movement which is Japanese.
@@waimoo1 ok, chinese exterior and seiko interior, like a budget seiko.
But this is ok for the price, no miracles ;)
@@rezah336 I would say like most of the Swiss made watches under 2k budget… most of the big groups have their own facilities in Asia. For me no problem and kudos to them !
It's just a replica of Patek Philippe 5170j, nothing special
Just not the same price tag ;) but it's a nice way for people to get into watches I think

You lost me at meca-quartz. Bye bye.
