Listening from Dayton, Ohio, on this chilly evening. My favorite thing to do when getting ready for bed is listen to Mystery Theater 😊
Narcissist have their vision of a perfect world, while the rest of us want some kind of a normal life and a little happiness
I loved the running joke about how people lose track of their own language over time, like when they're trying to figure out the origin of the phrase "lord knows" or "keep your eye on the ball" or blurring the etymologies of "wholly/holy."
Keep your eye on the ball part was funny.
There is so much wrong with this episode, not the least being the casting of Evie Juster as a "1" and Marion Seldes a "3"??? It may be prejudiced of me, but Juster's squeaky glass shattering voice doesn't "speak" of high intelligence nor does the smooth, pleasing sound of Seldes bring to mind a moron. The only "right" thing about the episode that saved it for me and kept me listening was the ever brilliant Larry Haynes 😘
Juster's voice annoyed me too and might have kept me from enjoying the episode if I hadn't found its concept so intriguing. Seldes's voice on the other hand wasn't a problem for me because it suggested the unacknowledged intelligence of the group-3s, an intelligence that understands and integrates such factors as emotion, caring and bonding - those vital parts of the human condition that the group-1s and 2s are constantly, stupidly trying to amputate.
@@dontaylor7315 I like this answer very much.
This is a tough one to follow
l love parralell floatilng.
Great
...I have to intrude with a bit of reality here. If "love" made everything, then what about flood basalts?
Ghost stories don't scare me, I find slasher stories gross and irritating, but in terms of the long range survival of the human race, even though the timing of the next flood basalt eruption is a long way off, the thought of another flood basalt eruption on planet earth is the most frightening thing I'm aware of. I've just learned that flood basalts aren't prompted by asteroid impacts, either, so protecting earth from those won't prevent flood basalt eruptions.
Interesting...
I found the parallels between the Trump administration and the third chapter were outstanding...just a thought!
Whatever drugs you are on please pass them around.
Since we’re getting political....Trump 2020🇺🇸
Meggy Farnsworth Right!! 🇺🇸
David Locke Trump 2020. The End of the world, 2021! How can an intelligent person who listens to radio programs, attach themselves to a draft dodging woman grabbing POS like Trump! 🤯

The Socialist Dream LOL
Indeed! The only happy people were the 3s who didn’t necessarily want to control the world and forcefully sacrifice tens of millions of lives, creating fear and pain for all but the Elites. Happiness is replaced by endless lies from those in power. Enjoyed 9/5/2022.
