- I couldn't find a video where someone would explain how to do it in a high-rise (without access to outside), so I just made the video.
Huge thanks to Anthony Robinson for the part number!
What's used in 20 Newport Pkwy and 1 Shore Lane is: Truth Hardware 9-1/2" Rear Mount Left Hand Casement Window Operator With Pivot Shoe.
When ordering the part, it is very important to get the size right (9 1/2) and to get the options right (Rear Mount, Left Hand, With Pivot Shoe), otherwise it just won't fit, of course.
Thanks for this video Gene! This is the EXACT problem I have and this is the only video I could find that even comes close to showing how to fix it. Unfortunately it’s tricky…working almost blind from the inside with tiny screws and gravity working against you.
very useful information thank you, thank you for the pilot video. there is no other instruction on the web for the know how.
Hey Gene this is a very helpful guide! Thanks for sharing.
Great video. I have problem with crank, but shoe is ok. Do you know if the shoe be replaced, rather than the entire crank assembly?
Wondering if you have figured this out. Im having the same problems
@@tianranwang6732 I replaced entire assembly. It was fairly easy since I had access to balcony outside the window.
Yeah, I am pretty sure that three hours of your time are worth more than buying an extra part. When you buy the whole crank kit, you at least know that its parts are compatible
Very informative video … thanks buddy … its more of a task at high rise building 👍
my question is.... should this be done by the condo management since this is "OUTSIDE" your unit? lol
my management said that because the handle is inside, it is inside the unit and my responsibility. Tried to charge me $150 per window; I have 2.
@@greathelmm A handyman gave me a quote of $245 to do this 20 minute job. This girl is going to become her own handyman. They are so greedy and they insist on Cash only. They cheat their customers and they cheat the government.
Thank you for the video.
The part is: Truth Hardware 9-1/2" Rear Mount Left Hand Casement Window Operator With Pivot Shoe.
For example, you can buy it here:

(I bought mine from OGS, when they were running a promotion).
Hi Gene, this is super helpful. Which store is OGS, any other place we can find this part?
@@qingyihuang9141 directwindowparts.ca/product/roto-gear-9-5-arm-pivot-shoe-truth-hardware-23-04-32-001-left-hand/
here I found this one, and a few other stores have it too
Also, make sure you need the left hand side version (they also have the right hand side version)
@@genepanov Thank you!
