- Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya, Thailand, is a large wooden structure hand curved and built from wood. It is often mistaken for a temple, when in fact, it is a museum themed on the Ayutthaya Kingdom of Siam. The Sanctuary of Truth is worth a visit if you are visiting or living in Pattaya.

Aside from the surface of the corridor, this castle is nothing really smooth. Every nook and cranny is very complex and spectacular. I hope that the soul of Khun Lek Viriyaphan resides here in peace and pride.😇✨
Yes, I hope so. It has an interesting back story and there is so much detail in the carvings. 🙏
great video i really must make the effort to visit
Thanks, Barry. It's worth a visit. 👍
I agree with you there Heath. The poor elephant didn’t want to walk and was forced to do so, with 2 people on its back. God knows how many people it takes on it’s back, per day!
Very sad to see.
Yes. And it was so hot that day. 😐
Nothing wrong with Buddha and enlightenment, mate. We could all do with some more of that, in my opinion. 🙂 . Good video. 👍
Thanks. Absolutely agree. That's why I retracted my statement at the end of the video. Not everybody knows about the ways of Buddha and I realised that when editing. 👍
I went there with my GF in low season. No tour guide just a walk in peace with all the time we wanted. They have a nice place to eat up stairs and down by the boat docks. I recommend the romantic boat ride and dont forget to buy extra bread to feed the giant fish during the ride. They also have elephant rides if thats your thing. They also have a separate tiny temple if you walk towards the sea behind the gong garden which I recommend wanting around as well. . I went on a foggy morning. The place looked like it was out of a final fantasy video game amazing, a great place to take a date. Other secret great at places to take your girl is 3 Mermaids restaurant Cosy beach Pattaya (hidden beach) and the Koi fish farm and restaurant inland pattaya
Sounds great. Thank you. 😎
Just been watching all your earlier videos Heath starting from Margate you’re doing well mate well done
Thanks, David. I'm glad you like them. I made the Margate video long before I ever came to Thailand. So long ago.
been to this amazing structure a few times, well worth the effort and the entry price, last time i went i got the VIP ticket which included food and a massage. like you i won't take elephant rides and have not done so for over ten years (last time was at Nong Nooch where the elephants are chained up....put me off anywhere except elephant sanctuaries)
Yes, I agree. You can get elephant rides in sanctuaries also, it’s no problem with a happy and content elephant. Thanks Tony (edited). 👍
@@oneendofthailand David?
Sorry, Tony. 😐
Great vlog, I was there a few weeks back. I enjoyed the guide, it was a different person who I had. Nice to see something different away from the bars etc. Loved the drone footage what a nice perspective great work
Thanks Sean. I wanted to do a bit more but I wasn't sure on their policy on drones, so I just did a sneaky few minutes. 🇹🇭
@@oneendofthailand I was wondering if was within the rules, cheeky you lol. Nice one.
Is it possible to do requests, there's this Indonesian restaurant in Jomtien. Its an unusual set up, smart looking restaurant tasty food, bar by night and has a pool table, worth checking out
Not sure what restaurant that is. 😐
@@oneendofthailand it's on Thappraya Rd opposite 711 🙏
I went there myself a few weeks back. It seems we had the same guide! She was great, & some of the information was interesting, but I enjoyed the walk around on my own after more. She made some comment too that the elephants were treated well, & admittedly I did not pay much attention to them, but the footage you have does show they could be treated better. Anyway, an interesting place, beautiful location.
Thanks for your input, Trent. Much appreciated. 🇹🇭
@@oneendofthailand You're welcome 😊
This place is something special.A lot of manual work gives it a special atmosphere.... I completely agree with your position about elephants, but in the end humans are the ones who should be called animals....Thanks Heath for another great video... Big greetings to you and Lamporn
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🇹🇭
I was at this sanctuary last year and its amazing, something worth to visit!! Thank you for the amazing video!!!🙏
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. 👍
Fabulous drone work. Went there last October amazing place to visit , agree feel sorry for the elephants so sad , thanks for posting Heath & Lampon
Meant to add it was quiet last October when visiting
Yes, I should stop making the tourist videos until low season. You're welcome. Thanks, Glyn. 🇹🇭
Heath those are by far the best shots i have ever seen of the Sanctuary of truth ! i stayed only a few buildings away at the garden cliff in wongamat beach ! great area this is in...
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. 👍
" thsi si just for tourists"..... under your clip here opened wuth shots of ancient Thai temple with titanic theme music so we re not in shock hon 😂
Thanks for sharing Heath/Lampon, impressive building with lots of intricate work, I wouldn't mind a visit, and yes I agree with you about the elephant (poor thing) if no one had their picture taken, then maybe the elephant would end up at the sanctuary, great video though, regards from England 🍺🍹👍
Yes, I will be visiting Pattaya Elephant Sanctuary soon. Just waiting to hear back from them regarding drone operation. It should be an interesting video. 👍
I really wouldn't be interested in a tour like this just pay my money and roam...😎
You can do that. Read up on it online before you go.
Great vid, I haven’t been here yet but plan on doing so in March, so this is a great insight cheers , love the fact that the workers don’t wear hard hats but the tourists have to 😆😆
Some people have told me it’s not worth doing the tour, to just walk around by yourself? Would you recommend ?
Oops just saw the end and saw your answer to my question 😆😆
I am thinking of going again in low-season without a guide. Depends how deep your interest is I guess, but you can find a lot of info online about how it came about. 🇹🇭
@@oneendofthailand cheers Heath, yes might do a bit of google homework before I come and go from there 👌
Very nice vlog and you have saved me a 1000 bhat, thanks Heath 🇬🇧
Cheers, Jeff. You do need to go there though. 😎 🇹🇭
@@oneendofthailand You know what Heath I worked at a world famous museum in London for 27 years and I never went to any new exhibitions. I think I will buy a new pair of trainers down the Thepprasit road market instead. I will arrive in pattaya last week of this month 3rd time since September Jomtien is my favourite place and you are one of my favourite vlogs, so thanks for your hard work and Thanks to Lampon also.
Seeing things on video is good, but nothing beats actually going to the place.
@@jeffuk3940 You're welcome, Jeff. Thanks for following the channel. 🇹🇭
Is there any transport to central pattaya available for return journey?
A Bolt taxi will get you there and back. It's not far from central Pattaya and there's often taxis waiting around the car park.
Naklua, crazy you have to pay. Even more when you not Thai.
I think the tourist guide is a Filipino
Yes, Anne. You are correct. 👍
For a sanctuary of TRUTH , these elephants are not treated as should be . For that reason alone , I will not visit that museum.
I agree. Seeing the elephants treated badly ruined the day.
@@oneendofthailand how about that elephant sticking a metal bar behind the ears of that supposed guide
