I think that Chinese language has something very sweet inside. Every song played in these dramas are as lullabies, so kind the voices and so gentle the pronunciation. And also the music without the words with this type of flute. In untamed it was so beautiful the soundtrack and also here with these beautiful songs. Chinese sounds are very beautiful!

It’s been 2yrs and here i am watching it for the 3rd time and I can say it’s still one of the best bromance/BL in 2021 and the 2nd best Chinese drama I’ve seen after the untamed

This drama is about redemption but no one is willing to forgive him for wat he did 3 years ago. People grow up and people change over time. I believe what i saw over this period wasnt fake, he is a genuine nice mature man. He apologised for him past mistake but no chance was given. Its ridiculous. Ruining someone is just so easy.

I just finished WOH and it was such a wonderful experience. The last drama that put me through so many emotions was The Untamed. I'll probably rewatch this drama in the near future, I loved it. I must mention I absolutely fell in love with Zhang Zhehan. His face is a work of art, I couldn't stop looking at him, he is so freaking beautiful. His acting was seriously outstanding as well, he is really talented. I just learned what happened to him and it made me angry and sad, I was looking forward to watching more dramas with him...

I have noticed they like to take down the talented and beautiful ones. After every big BL drama that happens in China, it will be some big Scandal. It happens with Addicted, untamed, and now the world of honor. Those guys were lucky but Zhang Zhehan was not, it almost feel like someone was out to get him.
After rewatching this five times now, I can confidently conclude that this is still hands down the best drama of 2021 and it's the best BL I've watched in years.

The Wuxia element undeniable strong here, Zhang Zhehan did a great job potraying ZZ character. I'm in love with this series watch it over and over and still fall for it more. Both main actor had a great chemistry that make many fans amaze and awe, the subtle hint about "bromance" is much deeper here than other series with the same genre had offer....

Word of Honor is the one of the best Wuxia dramas I have watched in recent years. WenKeXing is my favorite character and Gong Jun portrayed the role so well! His first appearance as the chillingly ruthless Leader of the Ghost Valley in episode 1 was so cool!
This drama was on my saved list for a long time and I finally watched it two days ago and I'm so happy that I did. It was a wonderful series with so many twists and turns. It is unlike any Wuxia I have watched as the main characters were actually blatantly flirting all the time and calling each other soulmates. One of my favorite scenes from this drama is where they were enjoying the sun, calling each others' names 3 times, and then drinking. Word of Honor will always be a series that I will cherish and hold close to my heart. I can't wait to read the novel just to experience this feeling again.

I've started watching this a few days ago and am close to the final episode and I am very impressed with the acting, music, costumes and story of this show. Everyone from cast and crew have done an outstanding job on this show. I am not familiar with the source material at all only with this show. Powerful, evocative performance from everyone but particularly from the two main leads, Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun who portrayed Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing. These two made me fall in love with the show completely and utterly . Their portrayal of their characters drew me in and made me care about what happens to them, made me suffer alongside them, made me empathise and understand them - how their circumstances, situation shaped and formed who they became. This is the mark of a great actor - the ability to draw in the viewer and make them care, make them invested and move them deeply and profoundly. Thank you to everyone involved with this show. It will be one that I will treasure for a long time in my memory and will think about often. I will certainly rewatch a few times as I am not yet ready to leave this beautiful story. I hope at some point, we will be able to get a DVD box set of this show to enjoy for all time. Thank you Youku for making this available to the international fans of this beautiful and thought provoking show.

I read it somewhere this production had low budget. But after following this drama, I was not sure what they meant by “low budget”. This is clearly one of the top notch best drama that I’d ever seen. And their customs were so beautiful, flawless and elegant.
it's said this drama had a budget around 30-50 million yuan, which is A level investment in China and a S level investment is normally over 100 million yuan. Relatively, the budge of WoH is not high. Besides, the drama is planned to shot 45 eps but ended with 36 eps due to tight budget.
If you look closely, you can tell it’s a low budget production compared with other bigger projects. The main leads are not from A-lineup. A lot of Chinese audience never heard about GongJun. CGI is so so. And they don’t have enough crews in some big scenes. And they didn’t hire the top rate composer/ music production team.
I agree with you. For low budget they did such a great job. But if u observe carefully u can tell the props look cheaper than some of the Chinese dramas with high budget such as The Longest Day In Chang'an which is like theatrical cinematic

The whole team who created this, I hope they realize that they touched the hearts and minds of so many people around the world, and I am amazed at all they did with such a low budget! Many of the themes in this series are universal: love, redemption, forgiveness, trust, faith, loyalty, ..... no wonder it is loved from around the world.
This show singlehandedly saved 2021 and set the bar really high for all other dramas. It proved that you don't need a ton of money to create high quality and enjoyable storytelling unlike 90% of anything Hollywood puts out these days.
I was really surprised when they said it's a low budget drama like...just look at all these shots and martial arts and you're telling me they on budget...?...Ive watched tons of big production dramas but not half of them could even compare to this just wow
I love Word of Honor. The interaction between the 2 leads is so genuine, very real. Some of the episodes are pure therapy for the soul. Our reactions are spontaneous. This is an international platform, youku, i hope you will not remove this drama. You cannot deny the hardwork by the team, zzh did a fantastic job. This drama is about redemption but no one is willing to forgive him for wat he did 3 years ago. People grow up and people change over time. I believe what i saw over this period wasnt fake, he is a genuine nice mature man. He apologised for him past mistake but no chance was given. Its ridiculous. Ruining someone is just so easy.
and Youku is a China-owned company. If it's gone from Mainland China, this will definitely follow. There's no confirmation yet though, but pleading Youku serves no meaning.

I just finished WOH and it was such a wonderful experience. The last drama that put me through so many emotions was The Untamed.
I'll probably rewatch this drama in the near future, I loved it.
I must mention I absolutely fell in love with Zhang Zhehan. His face is a work of art, I couldn't stop looking at him, he is so freaking beautiful. His acting was seriously outstanding as well, he is really talented. I just learned what happened to him and it made me angry and sad, I was looking forward to watching more dramas with him...

I have noticed they like to take down the talented and beautiful ones. After every big BL drama that happens in China, it will be some big Scandal. It happens with Addicted, untamed, and now the world of honor. Those guys were lucky but Zhang Zhehan was not, it almost feel like someone was out to get him.
After rewatching this five times now, I can confidently conclude that this is still hands down the best drama of 2021 and it's the best BL I've watched in years.

The Wuxia element undeniable strong here, Zhang Zhehan did a great job potraying ZZ character. I'm in love with this series watch it over and over and still fall for it more. This drama was on my saved list for a long time and I finally watched it two days ago and I'm so happy that I did. It was a wonderful series with so many twists and turns. It is unlike any Wuxia I have watched as the main characters were actually blatantly flirting all the time and calling each other soulmates. One of my favorite scenes from this drama is where they were enjoying the sun, calling each others' names 3 times, and then drinking. Word of Honor will always be a series that I will cherish and hold close to my heart. I can't wait to read the novel just to experience this feeling again.

It was an honest ignorant mistake. He probably went traveling on his own, in a country that won’t bother him as a celebrity, can’t read Japanese. Went to a place that looks cool not knowing the history behind it. Took pictures because that’s what tourist do… so freaking sad.
Zhang Zehan is absolutely innocent. Zhang is a true patriot! He's got 3 nails in his left knee for representing China in basketball games and China-Korea entertainment industry competitions! His acting has promoted Chinese culture in a way that the Communist propaganda, with its life-annihilating lies, can never hope to do! And all the thanks he got? Ten government newspapers assassinating his character because Word of Honor promotes universal values such as love, peace and freedom. Zhang almost trashed his career for his selfless dedication to see China win! He used to be a star athlete, and now all this wuxia fighting is hard on his body. What sort of government would dare to indict its own citizen of treason and support for Japanese war criminals simply for visiting a temple? A brutal, repressive dictatorship that turns its own citizens into lemmings and mobs, that’s what.

I've started watching this a few days ago and am close to the final episode and I am very impressed with the acting, music, costumes and story of this show. Everyone from cast and crew have done an outstanding job on this show. I am not familiar with the source material at all only with this show. Powerful, evocative performance from everyone but particularly from the two main leads, Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun who portrayed Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing. These two made me fall in love with the show completely and utterly . Their portrayal of their characters drew me in and made me care about what happens to them, made me suffer alongside them, made me empathise and understand them - how their circumstances, situation shaped and formed who they became. This is the mark of a great actor - the ability to draw in the viewer and make them care, make them invested and move them deeply and profoundly. Thank you to everyone involved with this show. It will be one that I will treasure for a long time in my memory and will think about often. I will certainly rewatch a few times as I am not yet ready to leave this beautiful story.
I hope at some point, we will be able to get a DVD box set of this show to enjoy for all time. Thank you Youku for making this available to the international fans of this beautiful and thought provoking show.

This act is deemed as an act of treachery towards his country and he was called traitor of the nation by his people. He later apologised that it was purely due to his ignorance to the shrine history, however, his country government has later on issued a statement that such behaviour is unacceptable and unforgivable. Within a few hours, he was stripped of every brand modelling and sponsorships. His social media and work account were all deleted by Weibo. Every work he has involved in (dramas, songs, commercials, products) were completely removed from every Chinese platform. He is now being banned completely by his country from working in the entertainment industry.

I read it somewhere this production had low budget. But after following this drama, I was not sure what they meant by “low budget”. This is clearly one of the top notch best drama that I’d ever seen. And their customs were so beautiful, flawless and elegant.
it's said this drama had a budget around 30-50 million yuan, which is A level investment in China and a S level investment is normally over 100 million yuan. Relatively, the budge of WoH is not high. Besides, the drama is planned to shot 45 eps but ended with 36 eps due to tight budget.
they only had 1/8 of the budget of high-profile dramas... if you look close you'll see they used some sets again and again in several scenes

If you look closely, you can tell it’s a low budget production compared with other bigger projects. The main leads are not from A-lineup. A lot of Chinese audience never heard about GongJun. CGI is so so. And they don’t have enough crews in some big scenes. And they didn’t hire the top rate composer/ music production team.

The only thing he did was that he took the picture outside of the shrine. I do agree that he should've known what that was. But he didn't go in, let alone paying respect. He did make a mistake, but he doesn't deserve what happened to him.
For me this was the best drama in 2021, if not, the best I've ever watched... Please let it stay here for the international fans. Zzh shone in his role of Zhou zishu.. He poured his heart into this role, and made so many people fall in love with him. Please don't take this away from us..

This series is such a masterpiece. So re-watchable! The casting is perfection; can't imagine any other actors/actresses in these rolls. The whole team who created this, I hope they realize that they touched the hearts and minds of so many people around the world, and I am amazed at all they did with such a low budget! Many of the themes in this series are universal: love, redemption, forgiveness, trust, faith, loyalty, ..... no wonder it is loved from around the world.

This show singlehandedly saved 2021 and set the bar really high for all other dramas. It proved that you don't need a ton of money to create high quality and enjoyable storytelling unlike 90% of anything Hollywood puts out these days.
I was really surprised when they said it's a low budget drama like...just look at all these shots and martial arts and you're telling me they on budget...?...Ive watched tons of big production dramas but not half of them could even compare to this just wow
