Great video. I'm Maltese and was interested to watch this video since it expresses a non-Maltese perspective on my country. 🙂 I agree with everything you stated. Note: I think one can pay by card on the busses too. They have just announced this recently, so I am not sure whether all the busses are installed with the card-payment machines yet. Cheers, and take care.

I have to disagree about the busses. Most of the time they run on time.i also disagree about the shops. In summer they close in the afternoon as its too hot they then open in the evening. Wow..I don't know where you eat and drink...perhaps its in peaceville or Valletta but in bugibba it is very reasonable. Beer prices are from 2 euros to 3 euros 50. By far the best place to be is the Elvis tribute lounge. You get snacks for free and the entertainment is free all for the price if a beer. I donate to agree with you concerning the ridiculous amount of construction here in malta..I believe its ruining malta☹. The rest of what you say is mostly correct. Except the food IS AWESOME just avoid the quick food like kfc, McDonald's or those pizza places..I highly recommend the local cafe's and restaurants.
I agree with everything you mentioned except that we don't have good food 🙂 We have many different types of traditional food such as ftira biz-zejt, pastizzi, rabbit stew, bigilla,... Just to name a few. Great video 👍
@@sameng7003 most restaurants now have vegetarian options... Especially in touristic areas such as Valletta, Sliema, St. Julian's etc. Not a problem if you're vegetarian
I disagree about the food - I've been to Spain and Portugal which are usually known for their cuisine - and I was not impressed at all by their food in comparison to Malta. Yes you will eat much better in France, Italy and Sicily. Also it's interesting to note that half or even more of the restaurants in Malta are owned by Italians/Sicilians and you will find pretty much authentic Italian food wherever you go. The cuisine in Malta is improving so much, we have Michelin star restaurants now that offer a great dining experience.
@@thelosttraveller4725 Not at all. It's good. But the Maltese cuisine is definitely better, even though Portugal is more known for its food than Malta.
In Australia the shops close at 5.30pm.... lol.... u might not like it here then. The food there was amazing and I actually liked it even more than most places in Italy.... best food I have ever experienced was in Portugal though.... but everybody has different tastes.

It’s definitely safe for solo travelling! I would recommend getting a GoTo car app and travel around the island with that. They drive in the same side as in the UK (Easy and cheap). Hi ! That's Cool Video . What do you do ? Job or Self-employed ? Is job opportunity good here ? Make a Video regarding job opportunities and Usual Rent in Malta ? 👍
As a local I know Malta is far from perfect, but this video is inaccurate at best. Many bloggers/travel writers/expats praise our good food (after all it has some of the best Mediterranean influences) and fresh produce, especially our local seafood! Prices are pretty normal (if not very accessible) for a European country and if you know where to go you'll find some good cheap eats as well. Saying trash is everywhere is a bit unfair, since every town has DAILY waste collection. If you live in a high traffic/touristy town (like the one this video was shot in) then there is more of an issue with upkeep for obvious reasons and the difference is evident when visiting more 'local' areas. I could keep going, but glad you seem to be enjoying your stay nonetheless..!
