    Devin why are you such a good educator! We need to hang out so I can learn how to be a teacher like you! Great job on this video!

    Totally different video than mine! I love how you showed people specifically what a sleep system consists of. Probably helpful for many people

    WOW! I have a Mont Bell that looks just like that, but I think mine is more than 10 years old. I love it! I sleep a little warm, so I still use it as a 3 season bag.

    I just took out a 0 degree and a 20 degree bag that I combined inside each other for my most recent winter trip which dropped below -13F.
    Having those two bag ratings really fill out my sleep system for all seasons, and I supplement with a liner and layering clothes. And I too need the 20F even in summer in the Canadian Rockies. I love the Sierra design, maybe down the road I’ll look into that design.
    Awesome info!

      Outbound Jesse heck yeah! Love that as a plan. Nice to be able to layer bags together. Glad it doesn’t get that cold here in Utah.

      I do the same. Im not a big fan of down, been wet too many times. However, I still carry a down bag for its packability as my extra layer. Its my smaller bag and while its rated 30, no way is it actually. I use it in warmer weather, and when its real cold it goes inside my synthetic bag. I also have a goretex bivy and if I use them all, its fine for the coldest it gets here, while seperately they pack small. Its easier to pack 3, small rolls rather than one thick big bag.

    Nice one Devin. I’ve been doing some tent camping this winter. Really been a couple of years since I broke my tent back out. Really helpful video on this one and your air pads one. Good job and cool collaboration 👍

    Great overview on the bag/pad combos. Do you consider yourself a warm or cold sleeper? Also would be good to understand some of the rating system nuances.

    Just curious have you considered the nemo tango solo. I picked one up for late spring, summer, early fall. Great idea, nemo is ahead of the pack with this one.

    What is the lowest temp you've had the Nemo Kayu in? And do you notice a difference whether the thermal gills are open or not? Great video BTW!

    • @BackcountryExposure
      @BackcountryExposure  5 лет назад

      derekbrigette definitely notice a difference with the gills. Unfortunately due to illness and other things I’ve not been able to get the Kayu out on an overnight, but I’ve probably laid in the bag outside for a total of 6 hours in 20-30 degree temps in the shade. The bag is brand new for 19 and I’ve only had it a few weeks at this point.

    So basically, the 30 degree bag I bought is only for the summer... God I hate how misleading these ratings are!
