    It is difficult for me to learn Japanese Kanji because I spent several years learning all of these as Chinese characters. My brain immediately sees the pictorial meaning then pronounces them in Chinese first. The meaning of the symbols is the same, but the word is different.

    • @Obachan-Kobachan
      @Obachan-Kobachan  8 месяцев назад +50

      I know. For Japanese people, it is not easy to learn Chinese pronunciation of Kanji characters, either.😟
      However, you've got advantages already because Kanji in Japanese have two kinds of pronunciation: one is called Kun-reading, which is Japanese-origin sound and the other is called On-reading, which is Chinese-origin sound and you are familiar with On-reading. You need to work on Kun-reading only, basically. Ganbatte-ne.🤗

      @@Obachan-KobachanAbout Chinese reading, most of them are of Middle Chinese origin, like the onyomi of 人(person) is "nin/jin" because it came from the middle Chinese "nyin". Compare Shanghainese "nyin" and Mandarin "ren".

      J’ai un soucis avec le tracé. Kuruma. Vous mettez un petit trait en haut pour faire la croix et un grand en bas. Partout je vois que ces 2 traits sont grands?
      Pour nomu, le trait horizontal dans le carré ne vas pas jusqu’au bout alors que dans le dictionnaire le carré est bien coupé par le trait. Cela me perturbe beaucoup car par exemple le kanji de kuruma a été donné au JLPT 5. Il fallait choisir entre plusieurs tracés. Donc ici j’aurais fait une erreur

    Hii guys im learning on how to read Kanji, how do you tell if a Kanji is using the Onyomi or the Kunyomi reading? Any helpp would be appreciated !! >-

    • @Obachan-Kobachan
      @Obachan-Kobachan  4 месяца назад +3

      Here is the answer from ChatGPT:😊
      To distinguish between "kun'yomi" (訓読み) and "on'yomi" (音読み) readings of kanji, there are a few key strategies:
      Word Type:
      Kun'yomi is typically used in native Japanese words. These are often standalone words or words involving native compounds. For example, in the word 山 (yama), the reading "yama" is kun'yomi.
      On'yomi, on the other hand, is generally found in Sino-Japanese compounds (words that are combinations of kanji borrowed from Chinese). For example, in the word 学校 (gakkou), "gaku" is the on'yomi of 学.
      Single Kanji vs. Compounds:
      When a kanji is used by itself (as a standalone word), it is more likely to be read with its kun'yomi, as it represents a native concept or thing.
      When kanji appear in combination with other kanji (kanji compounds), on'yomi is usually used. For instance, when you see a kanji pair like 電車 (densha), both kanji are read with their on'yomi ("den" for 電 and "sha" for 車).
      Familiar Kun'yomi and On'yomi Patterns:
      Kun'yomi tends to have more flexibility in pronunciation, often having multiple readings depending on context. On'yomi typically has a more regular, consistent reading across different contexts.
      Certain kanji with specific meanings related to nature, objects, or verbs are more likely to use kun'yomi. For example, verbs often use kun'yomi readings, like 食べる (taberu) or 飲む (nomu).
      Historical Context:
      Kun'yomi readings come from the original Japanese language before kanji were imported from China, while on'yomi readings reflect the Chinese pronunciation (with some adaptation) of the kanji when it was introduced into Japanese.
      In summaKun'yomi: native Japanese words, often used when a kanji stands alone or in native expta

    I think "behind" うしろ is kanji with okurigana 後ろ. The kanji itself 後 most of the time can be read as ご like f.e. 午後 or 最後 or 以後 etc. I don't know much vocabulary, but the reading うし I've meet only with okurigana like 後ろ I keep in mind those two "exceptions" with 後、like 後ろ and 後で (ushiro, atode) in all other combinations I try to use ご or こう and check if my memory can give me a hint - Am I right or no :)

    What is the use of learning the most difficult alphabet in the world "kanji" as everything can be written by hiragana and katakana.

    • @Obachan-Kobachan
      @Obachan-Kobachan  5 месяцев назад +1

      I understand how you feel.
      However, as each Kanji letter has a meaning, not showing only sounds like English alphabet, once you learn Kanji, it would be much easier and faster to recognise the meaning of a phrase or a sentence visually if they are written with Kanji as well. Sentences written only in Hiragana and Katakana are very hard to read once you learn Kanji.😃 Ganbatte ne.

    • @calen3152
      @calen3152 5 месяцев назад +1

      There's a ton of reasons, but I'll just give an example:
      English: There are two chickens in the garden
      Japanese: 庭には二羽鶏がいる
      Japanese without any kanji: にわにはにわにわとりがいる
      Romaji: niwa ni wa niwa niwatori ga iru
      So yeah, learning Kanji helps a LOT with actually reading Japanese.

    These things and very close variations are all over Amazon and Temu in Japan/Asia.
    Mine doesn't have the detachable legs (each leg is one piece) but it has the same folding set up and mesh/clips.
    The bag is also different, no zips, just a velcro flap. Also ripped really quickly around the top.
    But they're really cheap and the mesh's are pretty much universal from any company. They're great alternatives to a campfire when you have to keep the fire off the ground, but can be tricky to cook on without a tripod.

      @Obachan-Kobachan okay so this might be a bit long but bear with me , so here's what I was thinking and I would be more than glad to help you with it .
      See your content and way you present things are very good. But what you need to improve in is the aspects of youtube algorithm how youtube recommends and how users select which videos to watch .Primarily you need to work on thumbnail designing(current video thumbnails have a slight retro feel or how should I say not very catchy I guess ) and shorts ( you will have much more reach and better views ) .
      A mail id would really help to explain more you can just make a temporary for this conversation and delete afterwards if you feel like that .I would be more than glad to help you with above things .
