Heard N Side when I was working on my last book and that song literally pushed me past my writers block and helped me envision the rest of the story. Not to mention it’s a song be me and my Fiancée love.
I heard of steve lacy from flower boy then I listened to him for the first time in 2019. I instantly loved his music, my favorite song was "love 2 fast" which still is one of my favorite songs
i listened to Thats No Fun one night in 2am and i listened to the lyrics and i really liked the message of "i change you change why would one stay the sa a a a ame?" so i replayed it for the next 30 minutes instead of sleeping
I remember this year I was re-listening to bad habit just to see if it was just a standard okay TikTok song but I love it I end up listening to all of Gemini rights then a lot of his other stuff that he was on and I began to love him
dark red was the song of the summer for me in 2020. i would listen to it before going to work at a beach restaurant. all his songs exude such a nostalgic and sweet vibe. i could never hate him either. so hype for steve’s next album
I am glad to find out Steve Lacy on RUclips before I started using Tiktok. And a couple years later I started getting into more music and just eventually finding out what albums were. So I explored everything piece of his song and I love Steve Lacy even more. Especially his Apollo XXI album.
He's definitely one of my favorite artists! He was one of my top artists in 2023 and I've listened to Gemini Rights so many times that it was also one of my top 5 albums. The album is so underrated because people only pay attention to Bad Habit but every song brings these feelings of joy and nostalgia and wanting to grow as a person. Even the order of each track feels perfect because the songs kust blend into each other. So glad he's working on a new project, I was scared he was never gonna release music again!
I was looking at a ted talk for school in the pandemic and then I was recommended a video called the "bare maximum" which was steve's ted talk. He showed how he produced dark red and I've been a fan ever since
Give You the World has got to be in the running for one of the most dastardly underrated songs of all time. The production is so lush and alluring, Lacy's singing is on point. It's just a beautiful song and a real inspiration for me in general (and also most of Steve Lacy's artistry and catalogue as well)
And a Lacey memory, the video for dark red and ryd gave me a premonition lesson in self-harming obsessive love. Watching it nowadays hits my adult brain like sugary chemicals.
@@_FLWRS you should get back to producing I always want people to do what they love but if the love is not there I understand you can’t force the love it just comes out of you.
Helmet , love 2 fast , some , dark red my top 5 Steve Lacy songs first time I heard Steve was from TikTok in like 2020 or something like that when dark red was goin crazy
everyone talks about TikTok but they underestimate how many plays came from SEO affecting how Siri and Google played a part. He dropped a song named "Bad Habit" during the end of Ed Sheeran's song "Bad Habits" run on the charts. multiple times people requested "Bad Habits" and got "Bad Habit" instead
I remember being introduced to Steve Lacy through his main streaming debut, C U GIRL -- and thinking back on that song, I'm pretty sure he's the closest thing to Prince we have right now.
the first time I really listened to steve lacy song was when I was on a road trip with my friend, and he played dark red, I loved the song, so I found the artist, and I listened to steve lacy's demo (it was fire)
The first time I found out who steve lacy was it was maybe 2019/20 I was looking for type beats on yt "indie type beats" and I remember his EP cover was on one of the beats that I liked and I remember thinking he was like some popular muscian from the 70s lol. then later I ended up finding "the internet".
steve lacy literally has no bad song. his music is beautiful!! and doing some of my favorite songs just from garage band is crazy.
This dude is the real deal. Sunshine ft. Foushee is a song I go back to every few days. That groove is sick
It is. Foushee always has great features💯
