There was an English Pilot Tony Swenson I think. his name was, he threw a Sabre around at the Laverton Air display . I was around 9 years old . My Dad was a fighter pilot in the UK & he loved it. Swenson was killed in a Mirage crash at Avalon, It was about the same time as this. I know we put these planes together as we did the F18’s. I get angry that other countries are screwing the F35 together but not Australia . I am so sick of Canberra decision makers letting this sort of thing happen.
We are manufacturing parts for it though.... But you are right that its a shame we dont have more autonomy over our own F-35's in regards to stuff like the data cards and whatnot.
@@TheCol111 in my mind, after The Mirage III and the F18, was the choice for ultra sophisticated and fragile F35's not realy logic, better was the choice for the Rafale (half the cost per fighter on the lifetime) who is able to take all type of missions with high efficiency, but yes the Rafale is not stealth...but stealth is not a garanty do not be shot down: radars in network are able to "see" a stealth aircraft...
Bruce Mouwet and Ross Fox picked up the first two Hornets from Geelong and delivered them to Williamtown NSW.
