  • Just got this bike in on trade and the fast idle was running way too high at around 4k upon startup. Bike would be really loud with the Two Brother exhaust and I needed to fix that.

    Good video. To let everyone one. Before adjusting your idle speeds make sure your throttle cable is right first. Without the throttle cable being adjusted properly it will throw off the fast and warm idle. I figured out the hard way. Had my new 2005 gsxr 1000 around 3 months now and learning everything on my own. Just a bit of helpful advice that I don't see anyone mentioning

      thanks.
      what steps are required to make sure the throttle cable is right first?
      how do you know when the cable is right?

    Pro tip: there is a metal rod under the pillion seat that is supplied with the bike to prop up the tank.

    what does the little one behind it do?

      That would adjust the idle speed of your bike once it's up to operating temps.

    • @LeSamMan
      @LeSamMan  9 лет назад

      I believe manual says 1500rpm when you start the bike. After warming up it should be 1200rpm.

      I was just thinking that with mine...I was looking for the switch. I have a 00 and I don't have to any of this to adjust idle.
