The spinoff potential is off the charts.....sooo many options with individual stories would be fun. If Marvel and DC can give us a bazillion movies so can Barbie.
The way Alan reacts to Ken hurting himself is earth shattering and heartbreaking and hilarious, they really do seem like buddies - would’ve been interesting to see Ken react
They decided that Ken's personality was such that he longs for Barbie's attention and can be friends with some Kens and rivals with others, but doesn't want to be buddies with Allan. Yet Allan seems to feel for Ken.
When the show came out I was interested to hear how girls (and boys) played with Ken, if they even did. Some said they'd leave him around the house or in the yard. So how did kids play with Allan, if they even did?
Unfortunately, Allan and Midge were never that lucky on sales, and they were even unluckier when Mattel had the idea to make the family set were Allan and Midge were parents. Real life parents went ballistic over pregnant Midge saying it would lead to teen pregnancies. They're adult dolls that are married?? (we can have baby dolls to care for, and I absolutely was using the babies that came with my Skipper babysitter as kids for my dolls. No teen pregnancy here, but ok) So yeah, bad luck with lack of popularity (not their fault Barbie and Ken are the glamorous ones) and parents being insufferable...
That is a freakishly large percentage of Canadians. Michael Cera, Ryan Gosling, and Simu Liu. Just needs an end credit scene pop in of Ryan Reynolds or Nathan Fillion.
Michael Cera (Allen) was a big reason I wanted to even see the movie... And he did not disappoint! Everyone was absolutely amazing in their characters, though ❤
I'm 37 and I had one Barbie growing up in the mid 90s. My aunt, may she rest in peace, had gifted me a blonde, tanned Beach Barbie from Florida. I remember playing with it every day. Fun times.
The Allan doll has been my favorite since I started collecting vintage Barbie back in the 1980s....so much so that I made and dedicated an entire website to him called "All About Allan"!
I want to find out how Allan learned to kick butt! I would absolutely watch an Allan movie. 😂 Maybe they could also tell us what happened to the original Midge- because the Allan in the movie is the 1964 version, but the Midge shown is much more recent. Where did the original ~1960 Midge go?
0:34 I saw the movie twice and remember Allan saying "Not one person would care if Allan was in the real world. In fact it's happened before. All of NSYNC: Allans. Yes, even him." But I only caught the first sentence and didn't catch the NSYNC joke.
After the barbie movie ken dolls should be selling amazingly well. And many people are looking for discontinued dolls like Allan. Or asking for them to be sold again
In your mind, the Oscars are a target that required you to set up your own punch line as a two step? What rock have you been hiding under? Since Weinstein, nobody with half a clue can even say the word "Oscars" without an eye roll for the ages. And the Oscars already had a bad reputation as a nepotistic circle twerk long before that. You're actually rehabbing the Oscars, not piling on. "out-of-touch clique" amounts to praising with faint damnation.
"Greta Gerwig LITERALLY rolling on the floor laughing!!!" She never rolled on the floor. Don't misuse the word literally. It literally kills me constantly.
Michael Cera was the last actor in Hollywood I was paying attention to. Other than Superbad, i always thought he was a hack. HOWEVER! Now everything has changed! His comedic timing was so spot on, even just his physical embodiment of the character. Sure Allan is shy, but its not typical "Cera shy" theres an air of confidence within Allan that peaks out every now and again, and Cera has portrayed this BRILLIANTLY! Bravo dude!
I love how Allen was friendly, gentle and an outsider but was strong.
Honestly, if I could just watch a show with Allan and Weird Barbie, I'd be delighted.
I wish they'd make a spin off TV show
I love them both so much!
yeah I cant get enough of weird barbie
The spinoff potential is off the charts.....sooo many options with individual stories would be fun.
If Marvel and DC can give us a bazillion movies so can Barbie.
This has to happen
The way Alan reacts to Ken hurting himself is earth shattering and heartbreaking and hilarious, they really do seem like buddies - would’ve been interesting to see Ken react

I actually own several Allen dolls. I am happy that they gave him screen time. He was only produced in '64 and '65.
This is what I was looking for, so the Allan was a Barbie doll, I had no idea lol
@@chriswilcox3383he was designed to be Ken's best friend, but I believe kids started to make them boyfriends 😅
you should check the price of those now, they shot up after this movie came out.
When the show came out I was interested to hear how girls (and boys) played with Ken, if they even did. Some said they'd leave him around the house or in the yard.

Michael Cera is the perfect person to play Allan. He always have that "hey, I'm here too" personality. He is hilarious without trying to be.
“You want some more Allen?!” was one of his best moments. I swear I laughed at that line for so long.
Im glad im not the only one who lost it at that. I laugh so hard every time
Me too haha. It's a good thing I watched it at home, if it had been in the cinema I would have been kicked out
Can you explain what the funny part was? It's just him in the air..?
Michael Cera's over-the-top screaming is whats funny about it to me @@watercongas
as in the title of the video@@watercongas
It literally just says, “this moment” and shows random clips from the movie without saying what she was reacting to
That is a freakishly large percentage of Canadians. Michael Cera, Ryan Gosling, and Simu Liu. Just needs an end credit scene pop in of Ryan Reynolds or Nathan Fillion.
I can't imagine a set that was this much fun. Good for Greta!
Michael Cera (Allen) was a big reason I wanted to even see the movie... And he did not disappoint! Everyone was absolutely amazing in their characters, though ❤
Not seen the movie yet, but giving Allen the line "and all his clothes fit me" before going off on the construction workers is gold.
Truly, Alan was the best. Michael Cera has such comedic chops.
This movie had me cracking up start to finish and the Allen moments were hilarious! 😂😂
Everytime I see the scream moment it goes on for so long and I cackle everytime!
Not gonna lie I think Michael Cera looks great with straight reddish brown hair it suits him.
Omg, I thought the same thing too when I was watching the movie.
in the last season of arrested development he had that exact shade of red!
Greta is an amazing creative voice! Always so stoked to hear about her thoughts on something and on her projects!
I'm 37 and I had one Barbie growing up in the mid 90s. My aunt, may she rest in peace, had gifted me a blonde, tanned Beach Barbie from Florida. I remember playing with it every day. Fun times.
Allan and the Indigo Girls song were the best part of the movie
The Allan doll has been my favorite since I started collecting vintage Barbie back in the 1980s....so much so that I made and dedicated an entire website to him called "All About Allan"!
I want to find out how Allan learned to kick butt! I would absolutely watch an Allan movie. 😂

We need more Greta Gerwig
I love the scream because it sounds so similar to the Tom Cruise Mummy Scream.
I also laughed really hard at that scene. It was so funny. 😂
I didn't find it funny at all.. What was so funny?
@@watercongas The over reaction.
Allan was one of the best parts of this movie
I DIED watching it at the cinema
I love Allan!
Allen needs his own movie. He was my favorite character.
He cracked me up like seriously as much as I try not to crack
"I'm Ken's buddy. All his clothes fit me." 🤣🤣🤣
Michael Cera is a good comedic actor. Surprised hes not in the Oscars.
Allan is my favorite character
I loved that last scene where Allen had to remind that he too deserves to not be living in the shadows. Cracked me up good.
I ❤ Allan !!!
Thanks for this 🤩
"You want some more Allen?" Yes, we do. Hes a joy.
Allan is the best character and you can’t change my mind
The Barbie sequel should be totally centred around ‘Weird’ Barbie and Allan! ❤
Michael Cera is a comic genius!
May Jesus bless you all and lead you to Him!
0:34 I saw the movie twice and remember Allan saying "Not one person would care if Allan was in the real world. In fact it's happened before. All of NSYNC: Allans. Yes, even him." But I only caught the first sentence and didn't catch the NSYNC joke.
We need a sequel with Allen and Weird Barbie
According to Wikipedia, Midge was pregnant due to Allan. (No, I am not making this up). The movie fails to explore this scandalous detail.
“Yeah, I’m Alan, Ken’s buddy, all his clothes fit me” 😂🤣😂🤣😂
YOU WANT SOME MORE ALLAN?! LOVE IT!
I loved the movie, but Allen was my favorite part ❤
After the barbie movie ken dolls should be selling amazingly well. And many people are looking for discontinued dolls like Allan. Or asking for them to be sold again
I love Allan so much!
So this is where Scott ended up after walking through that door with Ramona...
If this movie isn’t nominated for at least Oscar the Academy is an antiquated out-of-touch clique. Oh wait… 😂
Definitely directing, set design, screenplay, costumes . . . I mean the actors are great too, but those elements really shine.
I really want "I'm Just Ken" to get a nod so that we can have a live performance at the awards show.

"I'LL SEE U AT DA MALIBU BEACH"
All his clothes fit me! 👊🤜💥
So funny!!!! 😂😂😂
Allan was the best one 🫶🏼 he was my favourite x
they should do a weird barbie origin story and Alan villain arc
i am so IN LOVE !!!!
You gotta have fun making a movie like this. Gerta seems to have been the perfect choice
I’m literally dying rn 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"All of Ken's clothes fit him!"
Allan was my favourite character 😂
I like that they let the Director "direct" her picture...
Anyone here after “I’m Just Ken”
won Best Original Song at the Oscars this year?
I would absolutely watch an Allan spinoff
It's also a slow buildup to losing it in a laugh, it's great lol
They should do a Ken spin off where Blaine is introduced.
1:02 this made me laugh 😂😂
The more I watch this movie the more I love it
"Greta Gerwig LITERALLY rolling on the floor laughing!!!" She never rolled on the floor. Don't misuse the word literally. It literally kills me constantly.
the dolly zoom and the sound its so funny
Michael Cera let his inner Scott Pilgrim unleash with that scream
Ken and allen made the movie…weird Barbie also hysterical
He was the perfect Alan!!!!!
1:11
his arrested development character is alive in this movie as Allan
Great cheers, Kens!
“Or Alan.” 😅
Alan is the best ❤
ALLEN: I'm a rebel Dottie. A loner.
This is what happens if your vision has come into fruitition and it is beyond what you've expected. You'll crack for sure.
He looks the most like a doll.
I bet cera is on his way to playing an actual bad guy in a movie
I'm sure he meant alanment.
I see myself out. 😎🕶️
Why do I get the feeling Allan has extensive Banana 🍌 Stand experience?
I wonder what Ken would've been like if they'd cast Ryan "Deadpool" Reynolds instead of Ryan Gosling?
I'll say it, ALLAN IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN KEN.
I would love a Allan and weird Barbie spin off
He stole the show
Ken and Allan
If there were an Allan spin-off, I probably would have say, “Hell yes, White Savior Allan!”
All of n sync 😅😂😂😂
Michael Cera with a beard feels wrong
Love Michael
No sequels please.
She definitely let out alil pee on that one lol😂😂
Broooo Alan has a Beard
Greta was robbed of an Oscar nom. But she won’t hurt from it.
I liked the film but i hope it stays a stand alone, im tired of sequels and spin offs
I don't know but I found this scene absolutely not funny.. Did I miss something?
Michael Cera was the last actor in Hollywood I was paying attention to. Other than Superbad, i always thought he was a hack.

Great movie. Men love it actually
him?
Why?
The best character was Allen (apart from Margot Robbie)
