Wow, that's an interesting anecdote. Your recent videos have inspired me to do a north Chennai heritage church walk: St. Mary's Co-Cathedral > The Armenian Church -> St. Mary's Church -> St. Andrew's Church (The Kirk). Hope to do it next Sunday!
