    I agree with Ashwin. I believe Australia has the right to lose the last game. I don’t know where this stands morally but I think it is part of the game. Eliminating a big team pretty much makes their chances to win the tournament easier. Now what if Aus face Eng in semis and gets beaten? I don’t think this falls under fixing.

    I think most of us Aussies would probably NOT like to see any manipulation of a result. For three reasons - we’re still smarting over the team’s sandpaper incident. It was nothing short of a national disaster here! So we fans really don’t like the idea of winning by doing dodgy business. [As an aside, Bairstow’s infamous runout by Carey was legit and within the rules. We quite liked that one haha😅]. Secondly, I think the Australian team simply plays better when they’re playing to win outright. It’s just how they’re wired. Keep it simple. And thirdly, why give England any more reasons to complain? We’d never hear the end of the whinging…..
