It would be ridiculous to bench Ashwin and preferring KL Rahul over Easwaran. But I'm sure with the team going with Washi over Ashwin and KL over Easwaran. Think the lineup is going to look like: Jaiswal, KL, DDP, Kohli, Pant, Jurel, Washi, NKR / Rana, Akashdeep, Bumrah, Siraj It's gonna be 4-0 and this Australian team will seal it's legacy with a trouncing for the ages.

We have 5 tests and we can give these guys ( paddikal, sarfaraz, nitish reddy) a go after the 2nd or 3rd test.

Even in Durban indian batting was shaky. It was pure genius from Sanju who made it one sided. Apart from Sanju everyone else struggled in Durban too

On a very tangential note, I have been a long time listener on audio platforms. This was the first time I have seen the video. It was so weird because it felt that your voices were not matching your faces. If I were to guess before watching this video I would have said that ashwin's voice and varun's face matched, DJs voice matched ashwin's face and varun's voice matched DJs face. Sorry, it's not meant to be a troll but it was so disconcerting to feel like the faces and voices didn't match. Even before when I commented, I had listened on google podcasts and came to YT to comment.

Watching Kohli in this series reminded me of late-career Ponting.

If we don't make the WTC final then I think it should be the end of the road for Rohit and Kohli with a view of eventually phasing out Ashwin / Jadeja. There's probably never been a better time (in recent memory) to try out new batters on an England tour than now. Also looking at the guys who seem to be on the radar, there's someone like Sai Sudharsan who has county experience behind him. Guys like Gaikwad, DP, Sarfaraz and Easwaran should be getting their agents to find a game or two with a county club before the 1st test begins.

Kohlis run out was not a brain fade. It wasn’t lack of game awareness. It was simply indicative of his personal opinion of himself and where his games at. He is extremely low on confidence. He was anxious.

Don’t mix Ash and Jaddu with Rohit and Kohli. Both Rohit and Kohli have been playing poorly for quite some time. The spinners have consistently done well.

Would not be ready to write off the old firm of Jadeja and Ashwin yet. Yes, they haven't bailed out the team with bat or ball like before, but it's our batting (and, tbh, the catching) that’s let us down all series. Give them a decent first-innings score, and they’ll show their class. The real reason we are screwed is the fact that our two most experienced batters are the ones that have been the most poor.

I dont know why we think series by series. We drop Kohli for Perth test and see if he can get back his spot. Thats how sport works. Rohit gets the entire BGT only coz he is captain, lose it and call it a day.

With Sanju opening you are opening up one position for An All rounder in the middle order. You don't need a Pant in T20 in the middle order.. Pant is pantabulous in test but sorry to say he is pathetic in white ball

Gone are the days where players were dropped after a string of consistent failures. But today there's no string of consistent failures, everybody has a few decent score in last 15-20 innings, even KL Rahul.. It has just become like each player playing 2-3 good knocks in 15-20 innings and nobody can question them anymore as it's not a complete failure. You just have to have the image of a good person and have a good rapport with the senior most guys and they'll themselves justify your selection for the next series and so on... That's how low the bar has dropped And sorry to say but this backing of mediocre inconsistent scores started with Virat Kohli's lean patch in tests from 2020. We could afford that much leniency for Virat only, but now we see the result of the same leniency for all batters. It's simply not feasible. That's why KL Rahul has played more than 50 tests and still backed more than someone who played only 14 tests and is 3 years younger .. Shreyas Iyer

Indian batsmen flop in seaming, bouncy and spin wickets.

I have a theory, Rohit Sharma is unfit to play more than 100 balls in test or odi since 2022 I guess... It was long in the past when he scored 150-200 runs for fun.. so he changed his game to score quick 50s, 60s in ODIs. And same in tests... Ofcourse there's 1 or 2 big innings by him in every series naturally. But even after 100 he isn't able to go longer.. That's why the whole "intent" "Ro-ball" "attacking approach" stories were created.. Just so that he could stay and do something in the team.. So basically his entire game now is "keep hitting until getting out and call it positive mindset" Whereas it's Jaiswal who actually plays attacking cricket, he can play an entire day or score quick 50s both at will ... But Rohit simply can't do that anymore due to age or fitness or not being able to focus for longer, or some other technical reason..
