- The Covid 19 pandemic has somehow taken Peru and put it at the top of the list in number of cases. We are a couple stuck abroad in Peru. We were on lockdown in Cusco for 120 days, but now we are able to move again. Today we are in Pisac, a small town in The Sacred Valley near Cusco. The covid 19 pandemic has caused most people to leave, most restaurants to close, but we still find a wy to experience local Peruvian cuisine, chicha at a chicheria, and much more in the town of Pisac. We're documenting the whole Coronavirus covid 19 pandemic in Peru while we're here. Let's explore Pisac, Peru today. This is the COVID 19 Peru travel vlog.

Everyone misses Mr. Potatohead and we understand how hard it must be for you to not have that waggy tail and wet nose following you around. It's so great that he now has four new girlfriends, good parents and an amazing forever home! You did good!
It’s definitely not the same without him, we miss that boy!
👍 "Cocinas Surge" is a Brand made in Peru 🇵🇪 and they actually sell that 2-burner cooker at minute 03:45 . It is a vintage model that is made nowadays
"Cocinas Surge" was founded by peruvian self-made businessman Julian Bustamante Cabello (RIP).
It’s like a movie set! Maravilloso!!! Lindsey estás aprendiendo mucho español!👏👏👏
Gracias 😊❤️
Thank you for taking us to the beautiful country of Peru, my dream destination. Stay safe always! Regards from the Philippines. 👋🏻
Your new place is beautiful😍Potato was lucky to have you because without you he would have never had a chance to end up in his beautiful new home. Never forget that you made that happen😊
Thank you for that reminder, it makes me feel a little better.
If you happen to visit or hear of Catalina Retreat Center, say hello to Daniel Gutierrez, the owner. He's from the US but now at home in Peru. The retreat may be of interest and it's near Pisac. Great video, as usual.
Awesome. it's interesting to see another side of Pisac. Usually turists would only make a stop in Pisac at the inka market (which is prob the most popular inka market in Peru) and to check the ruins. Now that you are staying in the sacred valley there are so many places around to visit, I hope you can go.. The ruins in Pisac are very nice, Ollantaytambo, Maras and Moray are incredible!
I read a message this morning that I wanted share with you guys (it also reminded me of your farewell with Mr Potato): "In the Quechua language there is no word "goodbye", there is "tupananchiskama" which means "until life finds us again".
I think that's very sweet and talks a lot about their culture and how friendly and kind the quechuas are. 🥰
THANK YOU FOR YOU LOVE MY COUNTRY PERÚ ....viva peru and USA
Peru is great!
I know it's a different time (Covid-19) but it's so surprising to see Pisac so empty. I really enjoyed my experiences in the marketplace there with the vibrancy and culture of all of the people. You are getting to see something very unique with it's quiet calmness still so full of color and history. You are very fortunate to be able to live these life moments!
Que bello lugar y que lo disfruten
dont worry about detractors, you left a seed of love with potato head that must grow and spread.
Thank you so much for the support and kind words.
Chicha has some amount of alcohol, it depends on how long it's been fermented. Freshly made chicha is very sweet and has zero or almost zero alcohol. When I was a kid, my grandmother used to give us a little glass of freshly made chicha de jora. It was delicious. Long fermented chicha is very strong, I think more than a regular beer.
It’s very delicious! We haven’t had any chicha that has much alcohol in it
Peru 🇵🇪 uses intensely Corn. Purple Corn (Maiz Morado), Roast Corn ( canchita ) , Chicha Made of Fermented Corn , Multi-color Corn, Choclo con Queso (Corn with Cheese and so on), mote (dried grains of big corn). Giant Cusco Corn, etc All those corns are back in time before the Incas and some of them only grow at high altittude
feels like something is missing... potatooooo 🥔 🐕 🥺... but a always a great video! 👍
Im sorry .. who is potato?
@@ximenavaldeiglesias9774 the beatiful dog they~ had
Wow that view looks like it came out of a painting. Enjoy guys!
Very beautiful!
Wow guys. I've never seen Pisac in that way. Actually I was there only in the market, but it is beautiful and your new place awesome. And be careful with the chicha and your stomach .. As usual a video with amazing views. Thanks 😍
We will be careful!
We are looking forward to seeing the sunrises and sunsets from your new view. What a nice place!
It’s so pretty here in pisac!
1. Your friend asked the lady if the pisco was peruvian....maaannnn pisco is peruvian!!!! Only Perú makes pisco.....if you hear pisco in another country then it must be peruvian or it is not pisco, just some random alcohol 2. Actually, chicha is an alcoholic drink, but the alcohol content depends on the time of fermentation, real peruvians dont drink it with sugar, that makes it stronger, chicherias in cusco sell chicha with mild flavour to tourists because it is easier for them to like it 3. When chicha is blended with strawberrries, the result is called frutillada, not chicha anymore 4. That type of corn is called mote, it is used as a side dish or part of some soups.
Peruvian pisco is the best in the world, but pisco actually come from both the winemaking regions of Peru and Chile (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pisco). I like Peruvian piscos from the department/province of Ica (e.g. the city of Pisco) best, but it also comes from Lima, Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna. Both Peruvians and Chileans have a lot of pride about the spirits produced in their respective countries.
@@charlesthistle pisco is peruvian as tequila is mexican an vodka russian. Pisco is a prehispanic city in ica, from which it comes and in quechua means bird. There's a poor attempt to steal the nameof our drink but thats just that "a poor attempt". So funny you link wikipedia for this argument.
@@christianabarca7244 I completly agree with you
@@charlesthistle according to history, old days producers started to making pisco in chile because bolivia had a lot of demand because mining boom back in XVI century, Perú was not able to produce as much pisco as bolivia needed, so the producers choose chile as a second place to produce grapes and pisco(pisco also dont get bad as wine does, so it can endure during the trip to bolivia)....after the boom mining in bolivia, producers in chile kept making "pisco", but they changed the process over the years, Perú kept the old ways without changing anything and only using modern machinery for making the process easier, in Perú producers also use specific mixes of different types of grape to produce different types of pisco .... that's why our spirits are different... chilean "pisco" is just another mass produced spirit for them, in Perú, pisco is an important part of our celebrations and a living memory of our history......"pisco" producers in Chile use the name of pisco only to get more sells, that's the truth .... they are free to pick a new name for their spirit, a name that people can relate only to chile, but no, they are stubbornly trying to take something that doesnt belong to them...and the worst thing is, there are more cases like this...
The pisco is Peruvian🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪👍
That is a good idea Lindsey . . . You also could make your designs and search for good artisans in Cusco or elsewhere in Peru to make it. Eventually you and Alex could work together with the locals and they could have an extra income. Peruvians 🇵🇪 are open mind to new ideas when working is involved . I mean new designs to make and to sell to the World. There is no limit for our imagination . Peace
I could make a monthly purchase! Love this stuff!♥️
Alex, you have been baptized Peruvian ...again humbled on you the way enjoy Life .
✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻 yes
You guys are discovering real deep places in Cuzco, very simple and nice people, your skin and hair looks great because the amount of palta enjoy
Un sol ese vasazo de chicha de jora?. It is near free!. Please The address of this chicheria when i go to Pisac next year...
Ayer llore con el video de míster potato🤧🤧 pero se que va estar con una familia maravillosa, y va tener hermanos

Just found your channel.. I love how you guys love Peru and the beauty it can offer and seem to be very laid back and grounded My country is beautiful. Enjoy as much as you can. I am from Lima but living in Houston right now. Cuzco is beautiful. Enjoy guys.
Linda pareja, bello lugar y rica gastronomía.✌️
❤️🇵🇪
New digs look pretty cosy! That corn beer looks kinda like blonde ale from Europe, interesting to find out it's not alcoholic 👀 . So glad Mr Potato is settling in well in his new home. Still miss that sweet pup, as I'm sure you do a million times more - bet it feels empty without him. I daren't watch previous eps again, i might start blubbering haha.
Pisac looks really beautiful. The airbnb has beautiful view.Looks very high from the ground. We all miss Mr.Potato Head but we know you did the right thing by finding him a wonderful loving family.Another awesome video guys.Take care and enjoy😀👍.
The views at this Airbnb are amazing. We miss him so much too!!
Lovely POTATO HEAD!!!!!!!
I truly Miss Him too much!!!!😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The potato began to be cultivated 8000 years ago in Inca territory, in the high zone of the Andes. It was one of the first crops that the Spanish introduced in Europe, revolutionizing their agriculture and changing history. During your stay in Pisac visit "The Potato Park", an eco-tourism project. It would be a great video.
Your original art is worth so much. You are generous to share it with your members for the price of a stamp, but I am sure their contributions to your channel help you a lot. Many blessings.
Another fantastic place! So lucky!
The view is out of this world!
Love the new spot you're staying at. 🥰
The view is just incredible
We love it too. So beautiful. Great location

You both are very amazing guys! Love you both! Thanks for being the best human for Mr potato 🥔 many times I’ve been crying and laughing 😆 with your videos, I am from Cusco and I really enjoyed with your videos 🥰
Nice video! The views are so stunning! It would be tough climbing back to your cabin when drunk 😂😜
Haha yes the hike to the Airbnb isn’t easy. Luckily we were sober. Thank you! Pisac is gorgeous
How are you doing,my nema is mexwell brown you can white me on my mail mexwellbrown5@gmail.com l will like to know you better
Great video in " The Picantería " the chicharron look crispy and tasty. Guys when chicha is fermented the natural sugars in the corn are coverted to alcohol. So yes! Chicha de Jora contains alcohol, of course is lower that a regular beer. I could see you both a little tipsy 😅. As always thanks for sharing!
How beautiful to be up so high on that side of that mountain. Great that you both are young and strong to make the climb. The views are worth it. Many blessings to you both. Enjoy your abundance.
You could go to Pallay punchu, the new rainbow mountain next to a lake
That’s on our list to do soon!
inmensas gracias por difundir nuestra cultura de la Republica del Peru, que nuestro DIOS los bendiga y proteja a UDS.

It’s been fun exploring and filming it all
Thank you Lindsey for reading my question on the video 😁 I’m glad you mentioned Roberto Pereras name. Turns out I have one of his CD’s back home, I’ve had it for years. Also, tell Alex my husband and I are from a city near where he lives. It’s even more unknown than Martinez, it’s called El Sobrante. Located next to the city of San Pablo and Pinole.
Omg the little bloopers at the end 😂😂😂 you guys should do more of those.
We’ll be trying to do it every video now!
The yuca in Alex's breakfast comes from the edible root of the cassava (or manioc) plant. I love yuca frita
with
spicy rocoto sauce.
Love the new place .nice and private.. don't get too drunk and fall off the deck hahaahahahaha take care
Haha we won’t 😊
I have a brother who fell off a ravine when drunken years ago, and broke his collar bone!!!

Chicharron is the Best
Omg you guys are awesome showing around my Country Peru. Blessings
Awesome video, I hope you enjoy my country like I am enjoying yours, in Biloxi MS, the chicha has alcohol because of the corn fermentation.
I love their videos, they are very funny, greetings from Lima 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Muchas gracias por dar a conocer un poco de las costumbres de Peru.
"they cost one soul" "so about 25 cents"
also lol at "this coffee is very milky" and there was no coffee on it
We laughed so hard when we found out it was only milk
🌼i like the videos guys. About the latte ... :) my assistant heard at first u want a cup of milk (leche), then that you want some coffee added :) :) 🤷♂️sorry about it. It was good i arrived later and understand what you want and give you our tasteful real darker Latte from our coffee machine ☕. Now my assistants will double ask to be in tone of what english speaking clients want. 🌻 Still enjoying your travels and best wishes for your journeys. 🌿💚 Big hugs from Pisac! 💚
Peruvian currency is "sol" for one, "soles" for two or more. USD equals about S/3.5 give or take. The official name is Nuevo Sol and it has nothing to do with "soul"
Patricia Bartra we thought it was funny and a lesson learned to clarify and say cafe con leche rather than just latte. We enjoyed our meal there. Thank you!!
@@lindseyfw2903 right 🌼 its part of the different languages and costumes, more with food 🍽allways very interesting and funny, if i told you all about i learned having a Cafe in Pisac, so touristic place with so diverse people arriving i will talk days lol. Big hug, have a great day. 🌻
Love you guys! Following on Instagram as well all of your accounts lol 😍😘❤️
Thank you for all of the support!
@@lindseyfw2903 😘😘😘
It would have been hilarious if you ranked the “Milky Coffee“ as the “best coffee in the world” 😂😆
A smooth coffee that doesn't have that bitter coffee taste and doesn't keep you up all night!
What a very beautifull place!!! Awesome....
Very pretty
What an amazing Airbnb! Looks so relaxing! We were definitely sad about not seeing Mr. Potatohead (I do follow you since the beginning) but we are really happy for him and also eager to see your new adventures!! You did a great thing for him! Btw I went toPisac only for the ruins but thanks to your videos I will definitely be going back!!
Thank You for sharing Lydia Perera's YT , now I can listen to Robertos music. 😍😎😍
Great video!!, am from Lima-Peru, but i live in California, thank to you guys i now Pisac now.
The fermented corn beer is called "chicha de Jora (I guess is pronounce: ho-ra)". Jora is a type of corn. When the drink is just prepared is non-alcoholic, but it has 1 , 2 or 3 weeks of fermentation inside the container , alcohol is inside. People may be drunk. Thanks for the video.
These views are amazing, the sacred valley really lives up to its name. Fun fact tuck tucks in peru are called mototaxis, there found mostly all around the country outside of big cities.
I love to see them and I appreciate that they love my country
I really miss Mr potatoes. 😪🐕🐕🦺🐩. Great video.
Lucky gays. Stay in Sacred Valley now is a fortune. Chicha de jora, valley sorround, sunny days, chicharron and andean food, andean music.
This has been an amazing journey to watch. We are so jealous of the adventure you’ve unexpectedly had to experience. Talk about making the best out of a bad situation... your awesome 👏 ❤️ 🇵🇪 🇺🇸
We’ve tried our best. Thank you! It hasn’t been easy.

Thanks for showing places from my Peru.
I’m from Trujillo ( North of Peru ) and I live in Sacramento , California.
Thank you for the update on Mr Spud!! I love the new airbnb!
Thanks we do too!!
When I was in the sacred valley we tried chicha beer and I guess ours must have been strong because I couldn’t even handle swallowing it. For anyone that has never been to the sacred valley, go, you will fall in love

Hermoso Pisac🇵🇪 lindo video 😘
Pisac is very different without the markets. Your video is the first I've seen without markets. Normally it's a bustling environment so you should visit again when things have returned
We never saw it how it normally is, it’s so quiet now
without mr Potato...th vibe so diff
It’s not the same without his cute little waddle butt, we miss him a lot
Potato Head..!!!!! ❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏
Great video! I don’t recall mixing chicha de jora with pisco or beer 😂
que bonito es el peru y sus costunbres ancestrales algun dia estare pasando para visitar
I remember that my grandmother liked to make "chicha de jora". That tasty. Kind regards from Milano Italy.
Pisac is just incredible, right in front of the hillside/mountains..the rustic feel is kinda cosy and snug. the town area looks rather enclosed around itself..i love that. i can't believe that glass of Chicha is so cheap..wow. This experience in Pisac is very rustic and natural.
We love it! It has a much different vibe than Cusco.
It has a great vibe, we really like it here. Especially the Airbnb with the porch and all
QA Hola from Ecuador again. Did MPH get fixed? Hard to believe I cried real years watching you walk the streets without him. But you did well by him. Buen viaje!
Lindsey answered in a live stream that MPH had been "fixed" during their participation with the stray animal society.
You are lucky. Pisac is beautiful. Cusco is beautiful. Peru is beautiful.
Pisac is great!
Love love love the intro! Especially the drone fast forward away from Alex sitting Indian style (or Peruvian style???😉) on the side of your new home.
You both look so happy waking up together!
Love when you share your meals with us.
I thought you were considering adopting the pooch in the street!! 🤪
Your new place is my favorite so far!
I have been following since the beginning of lockdown, and I know it was hard to say goodbye to Potato! You made his life so much better, and he made your lives better, too!!
So glad you have already had updates and that he is doing well and desires to sleep with the girls in the kitchen! 🤔🤭🙃Hopefully no hanky panky goes on in there! Maybe he will be neutered? 🤷🏻♀️
You two make a very nice couple.
I love your glasses Lindsey! Your look on the tour of the new place is classic. Love it!
I want to buy a mask - I am so excited to hear you will be selling them! Yay!
You have one adventure after another.
What an amazing and exciting lifestyle!!!!! I admire what you are both doing and how you’re going about it. I will live vicariously through you two! Wow. Such beautiful places you are seeing!
God bless you both and protect you on your adventures. He will put His angels around you to hold you both up during the crisis; and your families!🙏🏻🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
re: "Maybe he will be neutered?" - Mr. PH was "fixed" as part of the participation with the stray animal society.
