I can't use washcloth either. After the shower I have a burning sensation and my skin is extremely itchy, as if thousands of mosquitoes attacked me. I have to use some ice just to soothe the sensations. I also use a specific lotion and shay butter oil on top of that.
Wash cloths are literally like clothes. You can have a different one every day. 7 wash clothes and then at the end of the week wash all of them with the rest of your clothes. I mean for those of us who wash clothes once a week. And as for the exfoliating, just use an African net sponge, exfoliating washes, loofahs. If you're wondering why you're so ashy it's literally dead skin. When you start exfoliating your body and moisturizing after, you will notice you won't be so ashy. You don't have to use exfoliators every day. Just when you think you need it. Then always moisturize. I use different moisturizers for my face and body. I don't use cleansers in my face every day because it dries out so I just use a separate wash cloth only for my face. All this sounds like a lot but a routine can definitely make you smell and feel cleaner. Also don't forget your ears and belly button I beg 😂
dead skin literally does not come off your body unless, like shawn said, you are SCRATCHING it off or using a rag. I remember back before I started using a wash cloth and would use just my hands, I would finish showering and as I'm drying myself off with a towel, dead skin is coming off my body. Which means I did not clean myself properly. Agent claiming you can is just not true I know he be shedding after his showers.
@@buunyyhopp dead skin cells; throughout the day, you accumulate a lot of dirt and grime along with naturally peeling/dead skin from all of that. You want your skin to look the best? Exfoliating is key to remove those dead skin cells from you.
this is really just a product of tradition more than it is practicality. Their is no practical difference between the raw bar and a towel. An exfoliating sponge or net is a different story but a wash cloth is just tradition
@ sure but a cloth is negiblely better than a bar or soap when it’s comparatively the same price as a loofah or exfoliating device. So my point still stands, it’s tradition because if it practicality, people would just be buying loofahs

This has to be an American thing because scrubbing yourself more than once or twice a week ends up doing more harm than good.

You're obviously an exception if you have extreme sensitive skin. Otherwise, I personally don't get why people wouldn't want to properly wash and exfoliate your body. That's just how I feel about cleanliness
@staciii when you are exfoliating you are getting rid of the oils that your skin needs. and people who has dry skin/sensitive skin should not exfoliate, even if you have normal skin or oil skin you should exfoliate max three times a week. wash is a must, but you don't need a sponge/wash cloth to clean yourself (in this cases) so that's why i don't get people saying oh you don't exfoliate? you must stink. they are not thinking besides them

I'm French and everyone i know, immigrant or not, uses a washcloth, sponge, African net or shower flower. I remember teachers telling kids that they weren't cleaning properly if their sponge wasn't all sudsy and bubbly. You simply have to change your washcloth after every shower and have a rotation going, which isn't even a hassle to begin with since you're supposed to do that with your towels already. Now i know a lot of people don't change their towels either but that's how it's supposed to work for me.
