Ur constant reminders about adding seam allowances are great I always forget to add to mine then I have to draw on the fabric which is arguably more annoying LOL
I'm very new to sewing so not expecting miracles, but I want to make a Sally dress for Halloween this year and odd-jobing my way through it. Do you think, instead of making a mock up youd also be able to tape the paper pattern together and re-cut (inc seam allowance!) where the different fabrics are?
With the video preview pics, it shows sally without an arm. Did you sew your dress to allow extra room to tuck your arm in at the side? Or was it removed with computer editing after the photo was taken? Gives me an idea that it'd be sick to make a faux removable arm for Sally to "fall apart"...
Can you please explain notch marks and the importance of them? I've started following your youtube page and instagram and fell in love with this look! can we skip the notch marks or are they needed?
The importance of notches are match up the correct fabric pieces back up. I would not suggest skipping notch marking because when you cut up the pattern and cut your fabric, it will be tough to match it all back up correctly. But if it makes sense for you to not notch and do a different way, give it a try.
I have a question. would it help to use embroidery hoops, to sew the “stitches”? I want to make the sally costume as well. Btw your costume came beautiful!! 💖💖
That is one thick sally 😲.... love your video! Awesome that you make the costume yourself! If you just wore the stuff....uninteresting. But your awesome!
I'm so glad you covered the arm socks and tights, I can't wait to use this to help with my halloween project!
yay!!

We’re you add the zipper? I’m thinking about doing it with elastic clothes, but I’m not sure. Beautiful work girl and thanks for sharing with world ❤
Thanks! I have a big zipper in the center back. Also, you can add one in the side seam as well.
Ugh. You’re perfect. 💜💚
lol, thanks 😅
This is so amazing I love it!!!
Wonderful!
Love the tutorial Amanda but I think I'll be getting my socks from ksocks shop. They make them with zippers for phone use and eating.
Nice! That's pretty cool
