That is so cool, I love it. Just two days ago I watched the nightmare before Christmas and kept pausing it to take pictures of Sally's dress to make a crochet Halloween costume. I looked for a pattern but couldn't find one so I'm going to figure it out myself. Already pulled down all my yarn and set aside what I need. Now all I have to do is finish a crochet snow white costume and a tankini for my sister, then I can get started on it. I can't wait to see how it comes out. By the way your Sally came out awesome, I love how you left the leg removable.💚🧶
the doll worked up much bigger than i expected. embroidery takes awhile. for faces always leave a little more forehead than you think you need- that way the eyes are set in the middle and the mouth is lower- gives a childlike appearance. the hair is awesome. the dress is so much work- very cool. love the idea of a spooky village. have fun. Jack will be awesome too.
Mine is coming in the mail today!!! They are bigger than I thought they would be. I'm so jazzed to make them. I'm going to make oogie with some glow in the dark thread held together with the yarn so he glows!!!!!

Just bought it today. Can't wait to get startes though the yellow used on her dress in the picture is a brighter/ lighter yellow then what comes in the box I noticed. Also mine cane with wire instead of pipe cleaner huh
I ordered, and received mine yesterday! OMGOSH!!!! More labor intensive than I thought 🤔 I think I'll start with OOGIE BOOGIE first, as it looks the easiest! LOL That way I'll get the feel of small stitches, and hook. Of course use my own 3.25 ml hook, as the one that came with the kit feels too small for my hand. I love how your Sally turned out. Hopefully I'll be able to make my own soon 😊. Thank you for sharing this kit! Wish me LUCK 🙏😅

This is so great! I have been working on an order for children's slippers so I haven't had time to work on my own projects 🙃 I have to say that I hate granny square slippers, at least this particular pattern. I am not a big fan of weaving in alot of ends so not a huge fan of granny squares in general. My husband told someone at work that I could make them without asking me if I could first so.... Now I want Sally's dress as a top or sweater for myself. I love it! The colors are perfect.

Having worked only a little bit with black yarn, Jack seems way more intimidating to me. It is so hard to see the stitches. I'm pretty much a beginner though. I've only made a handful of amigurumi and some random squares to try to get a few techniques down. I have done embroidery in the past though with some of those kits my grandmother used to get me so the embroidery part seems to come to me a bit easier even though I hadn't embroidered anything in a really long time.
I got the kit and I love the book. I have made a lot of crochet Amigurumi. I got all acrylic yarn from the kit. They crochet hook also compared to my other hook of the same size the hook included it larger.

I have purchased this yarn previously and the kit yarn is not cotton. The kit yarn feels like acrylic yarn for sure. I’m new to your channel. Did you make Jack from the kit? Did you make all 12 characters from the book?
Is it easy to crochet?? My mother in law got me this kit for Christmas and I am really struggling with it. Like I'm trying to do Jack, and his legs are supposed to be a 6sc magic circle repeated about 30 times and I just don't have the dexterity or visual acuity to do it with yarn at this guage. Very frustrating.
Awesome job! Next time if you need to practice on eyes and small pieces. Cut the pieces with paper first or a white fabric then cut the white felt. The French knot is not easy. No worries. It takes practice.. and I embroidery and cross stitch.. lol.
I just purchased a crochet book that called for paintbox yarns as well. Do you have any other cotton, DK weight yarn brands in mind that may work just as well?

Maybe try next/half size up hook bigger hook for the smaller one and see how that works

I used a bigger hook for some simply because I wanted the finished plush to be larger
