being careful with mint is an understatement. I live in zone 8b and my mint and parsley usually survive together through the winter and every year the mint takes more and more space in my raised bed. My poor parsley is in a sea of mint atm.
Absolutely! Companion planting is a wonderful natural gardening technique that involves growing different plants together to mutually benefit each other.
Basil and/or marigold go with the majority of edible plants ❤ best insecticide, just rub a few leaves. Tomato, garlic, basil Squash, beans, corn (3 sisters) Eggplant, radish, lettuce/spinach Capsicum, carrot, cucumber Broccoli, beets, spinach/lettuce Cauliflower, alliums, almost all herbs But 9/10 herbs are extroverts and loves their roots cuddling ❤❤❤ I always grow combinations, the plants are bigger, more produce, and its pretty 😊😊
My unattended mint killed my rosemary. The lemon balm is equally as invasive, so it fared fine against the mints' efforts. _"Be careful"_ is an understatement!
I grew mint in my backyard and it going masive. It took all the space and widly spead to others area. Better plant mint in container to prevent them spreading too much
So beautiful 💚💚💚 I just started companion planting a few years ago Would definitely like to see more of this and maybe a guide or chart “How To” So happy to have found you 💚💚💚
Basically I am not allowing it to stay in the same planter next summer season, which can take over the entire bed. I'm going to pull it, put it in it's on container and let it overwinter in our greenhouse.
@@plantedinthegarden I inherited some mint in a patch …being clueless about it…I watered etc… not only did it completely take over the patch but started sprouting along the walkway and onto the grass. Mint is EXTREMELY INVASIVE… 🎉
I also had issues with mint. Years ago, I made this mistake, and it took over! I would keep it by itself in a pot and off the ground. Love the videos! Your garden is beautiful. Will try carrots with peppers next year.
That carrot and peppers is a great idea!!! I planted carrots alone and regretted it so much. It was a great full sun bed producing nothing consistently
Because you have such a thick jungle food forest, how do you deal with pests that find all that thick foliage makes a great vacation resort? Is there enough airflow? I know you can supposedly companion plant to help keep pest away, but does that really work?
I was picking wild blackberries and found wild thimbleberries growing in the same place, which makes sense because theyre related so they should have similarly growing requirements. But the blackberries seemed to almost act as a living mulch for the thimbleberriees
@mariap.894 I feel the same exact way, but I believe the plants could bridge the gap between us all. No matter how different we may be, we all require the same basic nutrients that can only be acquired through plants.
Our stevias look like twins, lol. I’m hoping mine bushes out more, once the warmer weather comes. I really want to try it. Your garden is looking lovely.
I feel so excited when I saw your garden. May I ask what zone you're in? I'm in zone 9, but confused about if I'm zone 9a or zoneb. Lol Thank you for sharing your peaceful garden. I'll definitely be following you. Namaste
Is it advisable to crowd the herbs like that, companion planting or not, I feel that they are in hypercompetition with one another for crucial micronutrients at their various stages of growth/maturity... 🤔
@@tamooz6649 I live in a hot climate too! I’m not sure what he meant by careful with the mint since you can’t really control how the roots grow, can you?
The mint will eventually take over the whole container! Very invasive, but to start out it will be ok. At a certain point, put it in it's own container. It looks and tastes great!
I'm in zone 5b, sweet peppers don't take as long as to germinate compared to hot peppers. But, I start them all in January anyways, which gives them extra time to mature. You just need room to pot up indoors.
How much sun days needed to grow those herbs so beautifully healthy outside? In cold rainy summer seasons in low lands this is impossible. Greenhouses are needed.
In these troubled times, your beautiful videos are such inspo for gratitude, hope and peace. Thank you.
Wow ! You have a green thumb excellent garden😊
Your narration is very soothing.
being careful with mint is an understatement. I live in zone 8b and my mint and parsley usually survive together through the winter and every year the mint takes more and more space in my raised bed. My poor parsley is in a sea of mint atm.
Just need to use more mint 😅
Rip out the mint and share it with others to use for their food/drinks. That's the only way I had mine under control 😂
Agreed I completely separate mint from anything, same with strawberries. They’re the pirates of the plant world.
Absolutely! Companion planting is a wonderful natural gardening technique that involves growing different plants together to mutually benefit each other.
Thank you for sharing about companion plants, gives me more ideas to better my garden 🫶🏻
Ditto.
Heard root crops go well with grains. Will try daikon radish with corn and other grains. Mainly to rot unharvested for soil feeding.

Many don't know how amazing savory is! I always put it in my red sauce. Also great on chicken and in salad dressing.

You grow so much in a little space. I admire that. This year I’m going to try for a pumpkin also 🎃
Amazing garden.

That's an interesting observation. It's amazing how many plants can grow well together❤
Shame we humans can't sometimes coexist like that at times. That's why I love my plants more than my neighbors ❤

Truly love your videos, so inspiring. But
Quick question - how do you keep pests and diseases away??
মাশাআল্লাহ 💚💛💚
Melons n tomatoes grow really good together
Is it advisable to crowd the herbs like that, companion planting or not, I feel that they are in hypercompetition with one another for crucial micronutrients at their various stages of growth/maturity... 🤔
How do you keep your mint from killing the rest of the plants?
No need to go market 😊
Treasure of home
Thanks great idea.
very beautiful garden and nice green🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🌶️🍆🍒
What do you use your lemon balm for?? First time growing it, it smells amazing but I dont know what to use it in.
Please give me a update on the white strawberries
How big are containers with pepper and carrots growing
It is so peaceful to watch your videos, so green and beautiful!!❤ Why do you have to be careful with mint?
Mint will take over the entire space. You should harvest often or keep it cut back.

I’m just wondering, how come mint doesn’t take over the planter? Thanks.
Ive also had issues with it 😂. Im in California so idk if its the heat for me lol

Thank you Ron!

Nice
What zone are you in? These are so healthy
when do you start your bell peppers? here in Czechia zone 6 it is hard to get them ripen

How do you get the carrots out with the peppers?
Are they both ready at the same time, so you just take everything out!?!
Beautiful garden. Where are you growing? What zone or state?
nice garden bro. how can you even cook with all those herbs? you must have herbs with every meal
When is the best time to plant? I want to get started but I’m never sure when to start. I live in the southeast of the US - Atlanta GA
What do you use feverfew for? I mistook it for camomile.
How much sun days needed to grow those herbs so beautifully healthy outside? In cold rainy summer seasons in low lands this is impossible. Greenhouses are needed.
