Gen 3 games are the most well programmed of the entire series, but even they have a few serious bugs (with the Pomeg glitch and Battle Tower cloning being the worst).
@@pikachuchujelly7628 the answer is gen 5, not gen 3, as gen 5 doesn't even have a glitched category (yet) gen 2 is also very well programmed. if you don't allow the cloning glitch or save corruption in general, there are very few ways to break the game, and only one(!) way to do so in crystal which requires winning a fight in the battle tower and starting another save with the same TID as the previous save.
There's a glitch in Ruby and Sapphire that allows you to exchange a Mail item for a copy of the item your Pokemon is holding (in this case, Rare Candy), so we can trade lots of mails for lots of rare candies.
Great video! I do wonder, is there any reason you go all the way up to 100 instead of going to like 85? I feel like that would save you a lot of time while still being able to one shot everything. Am I wrong?
Thanks! The reason we used level 100 in this route is because once you reach level 100, the game skips all experience text boxes and animations, which ends up being faster than the timesave of skipping 15-20 candies. There is actually a new route that only goes to level 64 which is slightly faster, but a little riskier and harder. So there's an interesting dynamic where level 100 saves time compared to slightly lower levels, but much lower levels could be even faster.
It's a pretty minor difference, but the grunts in the Slateport museum have Numels in Ruby, instead of Carvanhas in Sapphire. The Carvanhas are a lot slower to beat with Mudkip, so Ruby is a little faster and easier for that reason.
It's a pretty major item duplication glitch! You can see earlier in the run I do some weird stuff with the mail and double battle, which basically turns Abra into a candy factory.
@@lukebrennan9635 Yep, it's not too hard to set up on a casual playthrough, you just need a Pokemon with Thief or Covet, some mail, and a double battle. I have a video on my channel that goes more in-depth on how to set it up, or you can follow what I did in this run
it took 15+ years, but ruby and sapphire (and by extension all games from gen 1-4) finally have a faster english glitched category!
It's funny that gen 4 has been broken for so long, but it took this many years to find anything for R/S 😅

@@BluMagma7 also apparently I forgot that frlg exists and still doesn't have a glitched category :(
@@luckytyphlosion9910 I guess you're right. The gen 2 games are pretty solid, but they can be blown wide open with the coin case glitch.
I Like how May's one job was to stop groudon but she just runs away, solving nothing
this should be acknowledged more
Loved this video, just subbed!!
40:00 I missed it, when did he get so much rare candy?

Why do you choose Ruby instead of Sapphire for this any% category?

What the hell did you do to get them candies 😩😂
