I said in the video he was 53. People close to him have confirmed he was actually 56. I corrected the thumbnail.
can confirm he was 56. thank you for updating
There is no math needed for viewing.
Thank you for correcting that. I was born in 73 and im 51. Rockers were never good at math in my experience.
I was beginning to think about that 🤔 was he 53 or 56 ..just wasn't really sure but regardless he was a PHENOMENAL drummer. I kinda wonder what does David Silveria or John Otto think about him passing away 🤔
His tasteful drumming was an integral part of the Staind sound. RIP
His hihat work was so good. Especially on “Right Here” from staind
@@the_minimalistic_adventure loved his hihat work. He wasn’t the most technical player but that’s what made him so great. He had a unique way of making the songs feel good, and his creativity behind the kit was/is unmatched in my humble opinion.
I saw Staind last night at Sonic Temple fest in Columbus Ohio. John passed just as the band was ending their set. RIP John you are appreciated.
Sooo sad :(. What did he pass from
I saw them with KoRn a few years ago. They were really good, but KoRn blew them away...
@@tammycalvertchetelat4834 Thet said he was having liver probs but didn't clarify
I seen em too. I cant believe that RIP Legend
Crazy news. I was also there at sonic temple. Staind really played their asses off for him. RIP
Thanks for having me on to talk about the great Jon Wysocki. R.I.P.
We (fans) appreciate both of you guys' sympathy (and informative input) Thanks Josh.
Definitely appreciate both of you guys also. Another legend gone but will never be forgotten.
Subbed.
Much love Toomey!!!!
R.I.P. Jon!!
I was lucky enough to have met him while I guested on a couple of shows. Tragic. What a nice guy and extremely talented player. Rest in power Jon.
We are losing way too many talented people from generation X. RIP John, you will be missed.
Agreed.
Very sad. When we lose anyone at a young age, it’s especially painful for those left behind. It’s many years without that persons laughter, love and support. R.I.P.
Kentaro Miura’s passing still has hurt the worst.
@@syntheticvocalist-p472That's not relative here. Fairly shitty to come on here and make it about someone else.
Wayyy to many. As we ( GenX) get older they do too...and their dropping like flies. It all started with grunge and suicide. God, we were young!!!! I think it's gonna really hit hard when any of the guys from Deftones and Korn are dead. For me, it will be as bad or worse then Kurt Cobain. It's like the last of the first of their kind, we had after grunge.
his work on dysfunction particularly was amazing, especially the beginning of spleen.
RIP, such a shock
I love that opening drum method on that song it’s kinda like a smack in the face and punches to the gut throughout the WHOLE song 🤘🏽
Been waiting for someone to mention that into. I think that is my favorite drum intro of all time. It just sets the song up to rip so hard.
So many people rag on staind but man, if they do I know they've only ever heard the hits.
I really don't think they have sounded the same without him behind the kit.
Rip man, you will be missed.
Great call. His drums on every record were fantastic. His off beat push at the end bars of verses, his splash/hat/cymbal work, tasty tight fills etc. Jon was a brilliant drummer with his own style. Hung with him a few times here in Nashville. Super humble guy. Rest Easy Jon
it would've been AWESOME 🤘🏽 if Spleen was a single or Raw 🤘🏽🤘🏽
I played with him in a band locally here in Mass, just before his Staind days. He was an amazing person and such a great drummer.
Massachusetts class of 87 girl here ...followed staind from the beginning... Lately I've been singing BETTER DAYS nonstop 😢. RIP Jon
I have a drumstick he tossed me after a Staind show. A prized possession. Thanks for the music & memories, RIP.
We've lost too many good drummers.
you in Slipknot ? sorry may not be the time for jokes
Way too many. It sucks man.
Yeah man and it’s sad. This hits hard.
Rough on the body. I mean... that's part of it.
Dude for real
Oh man... He was one of people that inspired me to play drums when I was a kid. May he rest in power
Brian and James from KoRn were that for me but I play guitar not drums. 👍
Jon was a close second to Keith Moon for me. This hits kinda hard as Jon was the same age as me. 😢
He was a great dude and a hell of a drummer. I met him in Milwaukee WI in the early 2000s and he was such a down to Earth dude. Rest in peace brother
Been crying all day since I heard the news. Just can't believe he's gone man. He played a very intrical role in helping me develop my musical taste growing up. Especially when I was growing up in the late 90's & early 2000's Staind was huge & Break The Cycle was everywhere. I'll miss him, we'll all miss him. RIP Jon Wysocki 😢😢💔🤘🤘💯
Listening to his playing and trying to play along by ear; he was an amazing inspiration for decades. Rock in Heaven Jon.
Have u cry for Jesus the Lord in ur live ???
A very under rated drummer with a unique and powerful style his drumming is fantastic on “Break The Cycle” Rest In Peace Jon 🙏
oh my gosh. I was born the year Staind formed and they have meant so much to me my whole life. this is such sad news.
same, almost 29 now and i love this band especially their early stuff, this is such a tragedy.
MY GOSH you guys are just babies 👼when (Tormented & Dysfunction) came out 😆
@@ChairmanPaulieDvery true lol
Dysfunction is one of the greatest albums of that era, imo. I always loved his drumming
go back and give it another listen, somehow, 25 years later, it hits even harder
I was in music from 1994 to 2002ish, and a great-granparent was a Lewis from MD. Staind was super important to my development. RIP Jon.
Such a loss Staind like most of us was a huge part of my childhood and I finally saw Staind last week which was a bucket list of mine even though he hasn't been in the band in a long time his influence was still evident that night and he was a part of creating one of the best bands ever. RIP brother
*Gone too soon... but at least he is no longer suffering.*
_"Until we meet again."_
Dang... Not another great person lost from the world. He will truly be missed. Rest in peace, Wysocki
Another amazing drummer gone rip
I've been listening to Staind since 1999. RIP Jon. I will miss you!
I’m on the outside, and I’m looking in, I can see through you, see your true colors 🕊️ RIP
He is the first drummer that I noticed would actually wright his parts building on top of what the guitars were doing not just a 4 on the flour. Him and Mushok really influenced me as a young musician, Big time!
I would imagine Mike Bordin and David Silveria from KoRn were a huge influence on him. Hell, if it wasn't for KoRn and Ross Robinson we most likely wouldn't even have Staind or they would be an underground band that none of us have heard of.
Rest In ROCK, dear Jon. 🖤🕊
As a drummer around the same age as Jon that played in bands as well. This is terrible news. Gone way too soon. Life is short. Hold your loved ones tight.
I saw him play live many times....he was amazing!!! ❤
John booked my band a long time ago. He also came to our shows , some time later. Solid dude who I'll miss.
No way...this hits hard man. Jon's drumming was, and still is, one of the focal points of my beginnings into playing music. Especially with my best friend (who I call my brother) was the first drummer I ever jammed with and learned the whole Break The Cycle album together. He will definitely be missed but also celebrated. RIP Jon. 🤘
Staind was the soundtrack of my child
Listening to staind when I was a little kid and I still Listen to Staind
Jon Wysocki, Aaron Lewis, Mike Mushock & Johnny April they made history in music
Rest in Peace Jon
How sad ive always been a fan of staind. He was such a good drummer may he rest in peace 🙏 ❤
Rest In Piece
Rest Easy, Jon Wysocki!
I’m gonna listen to nothing but staind this week at the gym! Rip Jon, part of my favorite band growing up and till this day.
I used to listen to Staind back in the early 2000’s and he was such a tight drummer. They came up with great songs. RIP.
Oh man, Aaron Lewis' words can rip your heart right out. Damn, man, I got teared up on that one. RIP Jon Wysocki. My condolences to all loved ones: family, friends, fans, followers, whoever you are and wherever you are, my heart goes out to you.
Corey from Lydia’s Castle here… Thabk you for covering and bringing the news to many who cared. However I must address the profound mistake the whole media has had on his age. He was 56.. We don’t know the initial incorrect source of his Birth year.. but can confirm his birth year was 1968. We are in touch with as many sources as possible to rectify the information. Much love and may he rest in piece ❤️
Damn… Staind were are are still one of my all time favourite bands. Dysfunction and Break the cycle I grew up on. Two absolutely impeccable records. I loved all there records in fact but those two were incredible. So sad. RIP.
A great tribute to Jon Rock Feed
Grew up on Staind such a sad loss. RIP Jon Wysocki
First! Very sad news, thank you for the update on this unfortunate news. He was a very talented drummer that gave them a distinct sound. Condolences 🙏🏾
Wow, I'm from the same town as Jon, Westfield Mass. All growing up as a muscian, my teachers at school would always tell me how they had Jon Wysocki in their class and how he's a famous muscian now and all that. I have friends that are personal friends with Stained , I actually used to go to a lot of open mics with Arron's dad. What a bummer this is man, another one down, Western Mass is losing great muscians way too fast lately. RIP Jon.
R.I.P To The Great JON WYSOCKI. One of The Greatest Drummer's of All Time and Favorite Drummers as Well. I Loved Seeing him Beat Those Drums 🥁 on Staind's Home, Price To Play The Game, Fade, And So Many More. Rest In Peace My Friend 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
RIP to a legendary drummer. Gone to soon.
RIP Jon Wysocki, god dam, he really added to the sound of Staind. You won't be forgotten Jon
That's just sad.. Condolences to his family ,friends & fans worldwide. Rest In Power💔🤘🏻
Thank you for music and wasn't expecting it R.I.P Jon Wysocki
I've been blessed enough to see him perform live 4 times. Once from just a few feet next to him. I've been to countless concerts, seen 60+ live bands, but this dude is for sure in the top 3 best drummers. He put everything into it, and had a great presence performing. Staind was one of the earlier bands that got me into hard rock, so sad to hear of his passing. Rock on brother, you're surrounded by many great talents now.
I always thought that John from Staind and David from Korn are two completely under-rated drummers and two of the best drummers out there. the beats those two put on songs are not what ANYONE would ever think of. Johns creativity was so amazing. Several songs im like "anyone could put a 4/4 beat and make this song good, John makes it complicated but makes it sound amazing.
This is so damn hard to take. Got into Staind at a very young age. Heard is his original stuff from loke Mudshovel and got so badass. The drumming is great and makes it sound great. R.I.P Wysocki
RIP Jon, today is a sad day for all the people who burned It's been awhile, so far away, everything changes and many more in their cd player😢😢😢
Mudshuvel from the Tormented album is the best. Thank you Mr. Wysocki for everything. Music is life and you have sure made an imprint on my life. Thank you.😢
Im basically a nobody bedroom guitarist thats been invited out to play cover shows in Nashville with some cool people a couple of times, and Jon would a part of the fun. I only met him briefly, but he was always very kind and welcoming ❤ RIP
The french teacher in my school lived down the road from him and actually jammed with him. Said he was a great guy.
I just heard Its Been Awhile for the first time in a while. Sounded really good
R.I.P. 🥁
One of my fav drummers! Truly talented !! RIP brother!
RIP . Break the cycle had major impact on my life
Unreal man. My thoughts go out to his family and friends!
Meet him at my sister's wedding. Great guy Great drummer . Definitely will be missed by his Uncle John and Aunt Paula and family . Condolences to his sister Kara and family. RIP Jon.
Jon Wysocki. R.I.P. great drummer
I've had the pleasure of knowing this man most of my adult life. I was there in the beginning carry amps at geraldine's and multiple other Western Mass bars. We laughed loved and and lived . And for those of you who didn't have the opportunity to know him he was a kind-hearted soul. Never once did we have a discussion about his former bandmates that was anything less but a positive light. It was one of the coolest times of my entire life. Rest in peace my friend. Till we meet at the Mardi Gras again LOL
RIP to Jon fly high with the angels 👼🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍👼
Prayers and thoughts go out to his fam friends and fans xx
So sad 😞 to think about. Comfort love & light sent out to all his loved ones etc… ✝️
Well fellas. Its time to drink and blast his music. Let us mourn in paradise. RIP.
I still can’t believe it!!!! This is a great tribute video brother! 🤘🏻🤘🏻 I hope he’s in peace! my thoughts are with his family!!! If it weren’t for Stainds music and the ones who created it all, I don’t think I would have made it to 33. I’m forever thankful to Jon Wysocki!!!! R.I.P.
So sad 😢 Stainds music helped get me thru some hard times in my teen years. RIP John
Drumming world suffered a huge blow. RIP Jon.
foREVer Jon Wysocki R.I.P.💔
Dude was a good drummer, definitely knows how to mix it up.
Saddened to hear this. Staind was an integral part of my life when Dysfunction/Break The Cycle came out.
Thanks for all the memories Jon, RIP brother
Staind’s best records are with Jon on drums. Sad news to hear. RIP Jon.
thank you for the great music and healing energy/therapy for so many
😢 Stay strong Aaron and everyone who knew John.🕊️
Aaron will probably blame democrats for his death and write a song about it.
@@NPK476 haha yep, it's all Biden's fault! 🤣I'm more of a centrist though so I really don't like Biden or Donald Trump...
@@NPK476Who would blame him? We are loosing people waay too young because of a lie sold to us.
@@meganlovesdisneyandcrafts4780 Cool conspiracy QueAmoron, could have used a lizard person though.
Rip to this man. SO MANY great records him and the boys created. Banger after banger.
Thank you for all of the wonderful music Sir may you rest in peace
He was one of my influences may he rest in peace
RIP Jon.. You will be missed...
As a drummer who grew up on and listening to and influenced by, Damn RIP John! Your gonna be missed.
I first fell in love with his drumming when I heard the song Right Here on Chapter 5 it just captivated me for some reason ever since then he was one of my favorites R.I.P John thank you for all the music and good memories I have along with them 😢
Mudshovel is my favorite from that album too - such sad news, glad he was surrounded by loved ones; may he rest in peace
That album helped me on the times of my life when I wanted to end my life. It’s so sad I loved his drumming too rip my friend.

Goodbye 😔 👋 Jon wysocki I won't see ever again rest in peace ✌️ Jon wysocki

Best wishes to the band 🖤
John taught me some amazing rhythms for the drums. RIP John
Staind is one of my all time favorite bands this one hurts man Rest easy John 😭 Staind was part of my highschool soundtrack
Thank you Jon for all the great years !
Oh wow! I was not ready for this! I remember as a teen in high school drumming along to Break the Cycle and thinking this dude had some amazing work the way he used his cymbals on the set unlike any drummer at that time period. Definitely learned a thing or 2 on the drums by listening to that album and 14 shades of grey. 😢
R.I.P Brother, I love everything staind has done, of all the bands that came at thier time, Staind was and is my favorite.
RIP Jon Wysocki you are a legend thank you for all that you have done for music and for us. My condolences for his close friends and family 🙏
Wow this is heartbreaking, RIP Jon!! You’ll be tremendously missed brother 👊😎
Sorry to hear.
RIP Jon
Very, very classy tribute ❤
RIP brother! 👊🏻🥁
Man this broke my heart
Broke my heart. Drums of my life. RiP to a goat.
This makes me so sad. Staind has always been such a huge part of my life
Very nice tribute to Jon guys! Definitely part of my favourite Band from that era of rock. Another Man gone far too young…I know it’s how it is inside our Hard Rock scene but at my age (58) there sure are allot of young Men leaving too soon these days. Jon made a big impact, great Musician! ✌️
Omg that shit is crazy RIP ., u was and will always be a legend ❤❤
Rip John Wysocki, you will be missed
O wow. I just seen them last night. RIP John
