I had carpel tunnel and my hands were numb and I thought my fingers were going to die from lack of blood flow and fall off. It is so painful, I can see why people run to the surgeons. I cried for days and didn't use my hands. God healed me without surgery. Thank you Jesus. I haven't had carpel tunnel since. I did take a chance on not having emergency surgery, though, thank God He was on time! Thanks for sharing your ideas about natural healing.

It is close to 2 am here and I prayed for you. It is also important for you to let your parents know all that you are feeling. Ask the elders of your church to pray a prayer of faith and healing for you. Have your doctor check out your progress in healing and this video has some good advice. Maybe you could get a computer that you could talk to and save yourself alot of pain. Keep the faith!

For me, my CTS was caused by using incorrect left-hand posture when playing my cello, and a pinched nerve in my neck, which was aggravated by a hard fall. The morning after the fall, my left hand was really swollen, and I could not move my thumb, index, middle, or ring finger at all. So, I went to my doctor, who referred me to a physical therapist, massage therapist, and chiropractor. She also recommended using a brace, ice, and capzacin to bring down the pain and swelling. This helped tremendously, and, within about two months, I recovered completely without surgery.

Braces are NOT ineffective, they are used to keep the wrist and a possition for optimum blood flow and reduced pressure. They serve a specific purpose. Thanks for the vid.

i had numbness, burning, weakness in all my hand both sides and my wrist and elbow. i did some carpal tunnel stretches which helped. the biggest thing was posture though. i kept my back to the back of my chair, pulled my shoulders back and kept my head straight. also i did neck exercises and wrist exercises. now i feel way better! posture was such a huge thing for me, not everyone obviously but check it out.

Thank you Dr. Axe. I have been suffering with this for 2 years after falling off a porch delivering oxygen. Even holding a cup of coffee was painful Lifting tanks, using the computer without a wrist bean bag for the mouse, aggravated the numbness. Seven of my patients that saw the wrist splint I wore said they had surgery and strongly recommended not having the surgery because the adhesion put even more pressure on the nerve. The damage was worse post op and now permanent. I added this regimine you have given me here, to my yoga exercises and it has alleviated the pain. However, I have since retired from my job and must stop using the mouse.

While the title is far to bold of a claim and not true, I have already been using Turmeric for over a year and it has been better than anything any doctor has to offer, and best part, its safe natural and dirt cheap! He definitely is not making money sponsoring Turmeric root and Bromelain (found in pineapples).. try some of what he says and see for yourself :) (I'm not claiming every suggestion he made is concrete but hes def trying to help)

Susan dear, if there was a 'god', we wouldn't need doctors. You must use good quality supplements if you expect results. I use to be a bodybuilder & I would get sticking points. Arnold Schwarzenegger said to get Aregintina Beef Liver Tablets & I did. It worked very well. The way our foods are processed is what's causing our problem.
Doctors know but there is no money in nutrition. That's what doctors are taught. My doctor told me that yesterday.

My carpal tunnel comes from guitar playing. I've been able to improve it by removing tension and having better posture and positions. But I still get issues when I'm practicing technique for 2-3 hours as well as working on other things. The technique practice usually involves playing the same kind of line over and over. Starting very slow with a metronome and gradually bringing the speed up over the course of 2-3 hours. By the end, it involves a lot of endurance to keep the speed up.
Doesn't help that I have a desk job too. I'll apply your desk job tips right away.

Thank you for this great video. Massage is also a great treatment for Carpal tunnel syndrome. Also stretching in wrist extension can lengthen the muscles at the wrist that are causing nerve compression. I recommend it. Being fat or obesity predisposing you to developing carpal tunnel syndrome as well. So better to eat a healthy diet to help prevent discomfort and disease in the body. I cant believe some of the rude and childish comments! As a healthcare professional, I think this video about complementary treatments is very helpful.

I do not have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, however I do have Trigger Finger (plural all 4 fingers in my left hand even though I am right handed.) I know that Carpal Tunnel syndrome is related to posture and to an issue with the neck, so yes see a chiropractor. I have been able to release my trigger finger however it sadly returns every night so every morning I have to do the same exercises by massaging pushing really hard down my left forearm with my right hand knuckles, it releases it very quickly I just wish it would leave permanently.
I use essential oils also especially wintergreen with Coconut oil.
I use this also when I used to have osteoarthritis.
Making your Bone Broth helped me reverse my Fibromyalgia after suffering for 27 years, and of course taking out inflammatory foods, including gluten etc.

Have had problems with cts and waited six months for op on NHS. finally got the date of op and realized I had in fact nursed my condition almost back to normal. I am playing lead guitar on some very demanding stuff etc. So I think it can result in getting most of your general use back without surgery. I think surgery is a last resort.

Does it bother anyone that he keeps talking about carpal tunnel syndrome but just says carpal tunnel? Everyone has a carpal tunnel. We have two! The issue is carpal tunnel syndrome and it's the lack of proper understanding of this pathology that perpetuates it as a high profile condition. The misunderstanding leads people to self diagnose without actually knowing what other conditions could be present and in turn wind up trying treatments for something they don't have and ending up unhappy and still in pain and feeling hopeless. Drive me bonkers!

B6 has to be accompanied by half the amount of vitamin B2 in order to be converted to the coenzyme form in order to be effective in the human body. I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my left wrist and I know from experience that if I take 100 mg. of B6 with 50 mg. of B2 every day for a few days in a row the symptoms subside. I try to remember to take the B6 and B2 at least once or twice a week. As long as I do that I almost never have flare-ups of the carpal tunnel symptoms.

1 - Nothing causes "carpal tunnel" ... everyone has two carpal tunnels, one in each wrist. Carpal tunnel syndrome, on the other hand, is the condition he's actually talking about.
2 - Stretching, traction, bracing, etc. are all good preventive steps one can take, but are actually limited in usefulness after the tendons have already been damaged due to RSI (repetitive stress injury). Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a secondary symptomatic effect; the primary problem is actually tendon damage/inflammation and/or thickening. In most cases, stretching an already damaged tendon can lead to further damage, and in the case of tendonosis, can actually lead to rupture.
3 - While it's true that vitamins (in particular B6 and B12) are good for treating nerve damage from compression, this notion that taking such vitamins will "cure" carpal tunnel syndrome in 24 hours is pure nonsense.
4 - Anti-inflammatory substances usually do not help Carpal Tunnel Syndrome at all due to the fact that carpal tunnel syndrome is an RSI; unless you deal with the root cause of the inflammation, no amount of anti-inflammatory substances will help. Again, CTS is caused by tendon damage and/or tendon RSI, which means you need to address the underlying cause of the inflammation, not the inflammation itself. And in many cases, it's not even inflammation but a thickening of the tendons due to tendonosis, which can only be healed over time, with deep tissue release therapy and a re-alignment of the tendon tissues using balanced-load flexion. In other words, you have to rebuild and re-strengthen the tendons; this can take up to two years. (The main reason most physicians erroneously recommend surgery; the "quick fix" mentality of western medicine is appalling.)
5 - No mention at all of muscle adhesions that occur in the anterior forearm. These are a common cause of CTS, especially for computer users/gamers, etc., and unless they are worked out/released, the median nerve cannot achieve decompression. Sorry, but this notion that a bio-mechanical adhesion can be "cured" with supplements is beyond laughable.
Clearly, this is a promotional video, for Dr. Axe supplements, and not a whole lot more. Having had carpal tunnel syndrome for some time--and having tried these supplements in the past--I can say, with conviction, that, while it may sound like a magical "cure", it simply isn't. The only thing that cured my CTS was first understanding that I was dealing with a tendon issue/damage. Working with a chiropractor put me on the right path to recovery, but it takes a very long time to "cure" CTS, simply because tendons, by their nature, take several weeks, to several months (if not years, in the case of re-maturation of mis-aligned tendon fibers) to heal.

@@margiearce6286 P.P.S. You might want to research the fact that carpal tunnel syndrome actually not uncommonly starts at the neck, particularly with too much use of a forward head carriage. In the past I noticed that I had some tingliness in my hands when I was barely using them, but that if I watched how I held my head, it went away. Magnetic therapy gave me some relief with flare ups, with the north side touching the skin at the Carpal Tunnel (which is not at the wrist but above it, at the base of the palm.) Now, with turmeric and bone broth, and watching how I hold my head, I am fine though I used to be restricted in how much I could use my hands, especially with art work.

I use essential oils all the time when adding "Scent" to my own beard oil for personal use. There is something though I would like to ask Doctor; I heard if someone pounds out a grumpy on your wrist that could help as well. What do you think Doc? Could pounding out a grumpy on someone's wrist really do the trick? All kidding aside the traction idea is the only option on this video as far as I'm concerned that offers a real chance at temporary relief. Cheers and thanks for posting a video about this.

In truth, a chiropractor is likely the only person who can help someone with carpal tunnel syndrome, unless the nerve compression is being caused by a more nefarious problem (like a tumor in the carpal tunnel, excessive trauma, etc.) I, too, was a skeptic when it came to seeing a chiropractor. But, at the urging of my wife, and after having suffered with CTS for nearly a year, I finally did so (what could it hurt, right?)
I can say, with absolute conviction, that it was the best thing I ever did with regard to my CTS. The chiropractor worked out all of the muscle adhesions in my forearm, stretched and increased the range of motion in my arm, neck, and chest area, and worked to massage and stimulate vascularity back into my tendons. After the first treatment, my median nerve was decompressed, which allowed for regeneration of nerve/sensation in my fingers, and subsequent treatments released and strengthened my tendons (the real, underlying cause of CTS). It took a while, but it worked.
Chiropractors get a bad rap--I, too, used to ridicule people who sweared by them--but, when it comes to bio-mechanical repetitive stress injuries (which is what CTS really is), you can't get better help. Physicians just want to due surgery, because the notion that something can be cured, over time, with wrist adjustments, stretching, deep-tissue massage, etc. just goes against everything they've learned. My PCP wanted to due surgery the second he diagnosed my CTS .... which is just ridiculous--especially when you learn that the release surgery is really just a "work around", and doesn't address the underlying problems that caused the CTS in the first place. PCP's are misleading in that they will say , "It's inflammation, caused by overuse" ... but, when asked why it can't be treated, they have no answer. "Just get the surgery", they'll say, "You'll feel better"--as if that's an answer. Of course, they don't tell you that you will likely lose hand strength due to losing your transverse carpal ligament.

I learned a long time ago to never search for anything online. It will lead to irrational fears or someone telling you that an essential oil can heal a legitimate nerve issue. I'd listen to your doctor. Hope you feel better soon!

EMGs are unpleasant, but the only real way to accurately diagnose the condition. Ignore the suggestions about essential oils to treat the problem. Essential oils have subtle effects; if it's bad enough that you'd go to a doctor, it's way past essential oils. If, after you've found a medical solution, you want to supplement preventative measures with essential oils (whether diluted for topical application or used in aromatherapy), that's great, but nothing can replace an EMG. There is simply no other way to get a definitive diagnosis of this sort of nerve problem. Remember, the EMG is a test, not a treatment, and you need to know what the problem is before you can properly select a treatment, even if you do want to try vitamins (though I'd recommend an actual treatment instead).
