That throttle position sensor has to be re-learned after switching it out if i recall correctly, as it is very very finely tuned with it's position. That might give an explanation to the breakups you hear when reving it. Thing is, since you swapped the sensor, the beginning point, endpoint and emergency window of the throttle valve do not lign up anymore with the adaptation saved in the ECU. So the thing to do would be to grab VCDS (not the lite version) and check for any faults. Clear them. Drive to VW or Bosch Service and let them adapt the new sensor (costs about 30€). It can be done by yourself, but it's quite a fiddle. The optimal rpm for idle speed should be around 650 rpm.
Now I'm 90% sure it's the fuel pump. As I wrote you on your last video's comment section, I had the same issue with my first car. Get a spare pump and test that sucka. If that turns out to be the problem, you own me a Hella Lippstadt headlights set for the B3! lol
by the looks of things, i thing You running lean, when the car gets hot.. like a fuel perculation issue, check and adjust the carb bro, its simple, get a short flat head screw driver, turn the screw the clock wise in quarter turns, and listen to the car, itll come right, then check to see if Your fuel return line is good, there has to be fuel coming into the engine bay, access fuel coming out of the engine, to keep heat away.. check and change the engine bay fuel lines, and vacuum lies might be broken and or leaking
I don't think there is a mixture screw, isn't it all electronic? There might be a screw under the fuel pump diaphragm, sometimes covered in some sort of colored glue. But i doubt this will effect mixture. I think you have to control that via the ecu.
Hey man I had the same problem with my Passat VR6. The fix was the fuel pump relay. You will know which relay it is by turning the ignition switch off and on until you find the one that clicks. My was a relay with the numbers 109 on the top.
clean it up with carb spray, on idle, pull out the fuel line connecting to the carb, then leave it to idle, till it stalls, ie (uses all fuel in the carb float) itll run like a friggin brand new car
Dude would you consider head cam GoPro footage if you fixing/changing/removing parts from the cars? Even if it’s sped up a little I think it would be cool/useful for the video! 👍🏼
Juat fit a new distributor messing about with parts what are working fine the hall sensor is failing when hot very very common just done the same on my polo mk2f spi and my golf mk3 1.8spi
You should check the fuel pressure the fuel pump from sitting with bad gas might be bad and die as it get hot from running and I would definitely put the original injector cause if the one from the junkyard is different the resistance might be different and you could fry the driver in the ECU, good luck man
That other small throttle body looks like it's from a 1.4 MK3 engine code "ABD" 60hp....had 2 of them but damn they are slow 😅, very easy to work on though
Love your vids. Now that you have the throttle body of, you should change the gasket between the throttle body and inlet manifold. It would be an easy fix.
I've got the same engine. Check if your TPS is properly aligned, it's really important and tricky to fine tune it to 0.18-0.20V on some pins when stepper motor is fully closed ruclips.net/video/Lvm3eQtdUx4/видео.html . Also check temperature sensor on the throttle body over the injector (the 4-pin plug that powers your injector, 2 of the wires are for the sensor).
Dont think so needs a distributor it will be the hall sensor mentioned it before and he still messers with other parts the cap looks new the dizzy will be orginal
the throttle position potentiometer is critical in its position. also you are swapping two different systems of injection , one thing at at time ya muppet
Christian Smith well did you figure it out? Could also be that you didnt give time for the computer to get to know the new components. Mine is picky about any changes and gets weird untill I play with disconnecting then reconnecting battery or driving it at 2000 rpm on a highway for 10 min.
Next time the car dies, pull the fuel line and see if fuel is pumping while you crank it.

Yeah it is a electronic Mono Point Injection, it gets its values from a water temperature sensor when its cold until the O2 Sensor is warmed up
Next time when it won't start, unplug coolant temperature sensor and try again.
Fuel pump/relay
Christian Smith, if you have a carburetor for the mk3 1.8 adz engine, can you send it to turkey?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery and leaving it for awhile before reconnecting it and checking the timing after putting in the new distributor
Dude would you consider head cam GoPro footage if you fixing/changing/removing parts from the cars? Even if it’s sped up a little I think it would be cool/useful for the video! 👍🏼
I thought the same thing just to get footage of the junkyard as well.
Marcus Esteves yea exactly!

Would you be able to get the locking mechanism for the euro hatch my doesn’t have it
Have you scanned the car with VCDS? I know it’s pre 1998 so not OBD2, but still might point you in the right direction.
Love you vids man, keep it up 👍
Thanks you man 👌
Or you could put a tester on it. The connecter is located beside the astray.

Where did you buy that skull sticker
Chris, check out E-BAY in the UK. a new Bosch distributor for a 1994 VW Golf 1.8- 78.99 pounds or $96.76 USD. About 25.00 pounds shipping.
Nice workbench
R32 needs a sigma 6 thatll be dope. 👍🏾
Is the part for the r32 some more hella clears😂 that’s all it’s missin
Have you changed your fuel pump?

Hope she gets sorted buddy
Maybe the golf just wanna be driven. For example that day u drove it with casey. It didn't die.
i thought vr6 not expinsev in germany
Did he ever change the cap and rotor?
Dont think so needs a distributor it will be the hall sensor mentioned it before and he still messers with other parts the cap looks new the dizzy will be orginal
Where's gracey?
I have the cover part with the vw logo on if that’s any good to you? Can send you photos on insta if you want?
Man just make it fuel injection, change the hole system
the throttle position potentiometer is critical in its position. also you are swapping two different systems of injection , one thing at at time ya muppet
Fuel pump
Put a fuel pressure gauge on it to see what the fuel pump is doing
Cool Video
What is going on you guys
Your float in ur carb is sunk replace the float
Fuel pump relay. Typical fault.12 bucks fix
Not the problem

You dont know
Bro no
duuuuuuuuude, why dont you get a scanner software, i bet you could afford one with the money you spend on parts you dont need.
No engine codes to read also ive only spent like $50 total lol
in mine it read the cranck sensor . by the way I havnt change it where did you get it from. greetings from mex , big fan.
For golf parts cheap, check ebay.co.uk or ebay.de
Just swap the engine already
