    I've loved the "In Your Face and Further" IR in my own mixes forever, but I think the Cali Cab (which I've also used before) sounds best here. Great job!

    Very cool riffing & great comparison. Thanks for doing it. Want them all LOL! But probably will start with Zilla based on this.

      Thanks for your great feedback Joe, happy you liked the comparison :D. Had similar "problem" with liking each of them and ended up buying all ;). If I had to get just one I would probably end up with Zilla as well :)

    While Kohle's IRs might not have been as ideal for this mix, I enjoyed the smoothness and roar that power chords had when they rang out, like at 3:40. Nice playing and thanks for the demonstration, Sebastian.

      Thanks allot for your great feedback Mo :)! I agree that the Kohle IRs didn't worked here as well as I've experienced in other songs/mixes from me in the past. I still like to use them regularly and have them e.g. in quite some of my quad cortex patches :D

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  Год назад +1

      You can't go wrong with any of these. In the end the decision is on how much you want to spend and if you want flexibility (GGD), some ready to go sounds (Bogren) or something inbetween which doesnt cost allot (ML) 😊

    How do these compare to the ML Reflex?

  • @DennisFeinsteinCEO
    @DennisFeinsteinCEO 2 года назад +2

    This is REALLY tough... idk what to get! The Cali sounds really clear and punchy, but the others were great as well.... I'm wondering what the new Jens Bogren sounds like? It's supposed to be mix ready with no mic placement needed, just plug in and record. This is tough. Great video btw, thanks for doing this. I'm really liking the Cali so far 💜

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for you great feedback and very happy you like my little video :)! As you said with the Cali GGD released another fantastic plugin. I think you cant go wrong with either of these IR solutions, they all sound great and I`m extremely thankful for such great sounding choices. The Jens Bogren IR packs contain only some (roughly a dozen) of IRs but are always pre-mixed and ready to go and still give you some very useful and different sounds in your hands. But as you can hear the GGD and ML Sound Lab (my personal low budget kings) are also 100% mix ready and sound fantastic.

    Zilla definitely wins it for me. I find it sounds a lot punchier, clearer, and less muddy than the others.

  • @MartinBellamyMBDrums
    @MartinBellamyMBDrums Год назад +1

    That was really cool, so do you need some sort of head sim with these IR’s? (Example archetype Gojira) and if so.. does changing the settings on the head do much to the sound? I’m pretty new to sims

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  Год назад +1

      Thanks for your great feedback MBDrums! Impulse Responses like these are usually a combination of one or more cabs with some micing. What you need is a amp sim, e.g. from Neural DSP. Here you switch off the cab section and use the IR instead. The cab resp the IR is the most important part of the sound but the setting of the amp changes the sound like you are used from a real life situation. Hope this helps :)

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  Год назад

      That's a good question which isn't easy to answer. As these are my favorite IRs I can very well recommend them all but if I had to choose one I would probably go for the GGD Zilla being super flexible and always great sounding.

  • @niko13music

    Bogren Digital is the one I liked the less (I didn't like it indeed :D). But the other packages can provide great tones!

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  2 года назад +1

      I honestly also liked them the least on this song / guitar tuning as well. GGD and ML Sound Lab just seem to fit better here. This maybe also shows one of the weakness of the premixed Bogren Digital IRs, being less flexible than the other. Whereas on some recordings they can be mind blowing on some other they might not work as great.

      Hi David, I didn't do much here, only a bit of compression, EQ (high pass) and some unwished frequencies with soothe2.
