Mike, you hit the nail on the head. I have no idea how anyone could not agree with this...unless they are taking money from someone.

We didn't get a more universal bill because the White House didn't want it. When they had 51 votes, they said they needed 60. Now they only need 51 and they say they don't have them. Vote all the bums out. Voters need to impose their own term limits.

Ask a teacher, or a firefighter, or many other professions why they do what they do...it's to make the world a better place.

I have been writing Congress regularly on the subject. They used to support single payer, but as the months pass I'm just getting form letters. So something has been turning them. Disappointing. Why does no one bring up HR676 ? I say it, I write it time and time again and the subject keeps getting changed. Grayson's idea ? I already pay for Medicare. Why should I have to pay more ? Well if they cover pre-existing, that is what I'd need. Over 40 ? Everything is pres-existing.

Most Americans liked the idea of Universal Health Care... until they realized how much it would cost and how inefficient the government is.

I'm late to responding but that is complete bullshit. The majority of Americans are for Medicare for All. Even republicans.

So then, why take money from one person and use it to pay something that country needs if that person is not going to directly make use of it? This you're putting in question is the whole tax system

But I admit the system is flawed. I believe private clinics should be legal in Canada until our health care system is improved and part of the fees you pay at these clinics should be able to be claimed on a tax return. This will keep more doctors and nurses from going to the U.S and give people who happen to be put on a long waiting list a second option. Legalization of marijuana would be a great way to bring more money into the system.

@AugustusOctavianus Unlike most of the crowd in here, I agree with you completely. I think that most problems could be solved if we do simple reforms to reduce campaigning to 1 or 2 months, to make campaigns completely government funded and make private party contributions illegal like in most European countries. No campaign contributions = No lobbying. Corporations will be reduced to bribing, then we can pick off the corrupt at leisure.

I can't remember the last time America was a model for the democratic world. America is falling behind on every level: You don't have the best and fairest health care system in the world. You don't have the best education system in the world. You are the greatest polluters in the world. You've created an enormous economic crisis. You fight war after war. And you run a scary deficit. I'm disappoint at Americans. You just became bullies instead of beacons of inspiration. Why?

@kamikazee55 The reason animals can get in for certain things so fast is because it can cost thousands of dollars for these tests and the majority of people dont have the extra money so there is no line. When I was having horrible back and leg pains I went to the hospital was in within an hour seeing a doctor. They gave me a needle to get rid of the pain and a prescription for pain killers that I got for free and picked up on the way out.

Michael Moore approaches politics and supporting the Democratic party like a sports fan. Instead of even considering someone like a Ron Paul (Republican), he will 'unenthusiastically' vote for any Democrat even if they're corrupt.
To listen to him talk, he's the one making compromises about the terrible job that Obama is doing, and he sounds like a bitter fan of a sports team that has a poor GM, and a team undermined with bad contracts.
    Ron Paul 2012

@kamikazee55 The next day they sent me to see a specialist and he set me up for a scan three weeks later. Oh well I had to wait three weeks. If it was an emergency I would have been in sooner. Once the results came back they sent me to physiotherapy and everything was great after. And it cost me nothing. Yes, our system needs to be improved but its still a thousand times better than what Americans have.
