You know they were embarassed with all the press attention. I think they handled it with class.
They weren’t celebrities at that moment. They were proud parents. Nice to see.
Had the same impression
👍👊
Yes well, they're hoping this will cure him of always feeling compelled to start fires and watch buildings burn.
Just everyday people and that’s so refreshing.
Thank you Sam for working on our great nation! You and your family are awesome!
As a retired Firfighter, I am very very impressed, good job Sam.....
What about the rest of them
HONOUR & INTEGRITTY: ..... When your Dad has $500 MILLION and you still feel the call to Public Service
Please correct me if I am wrong: "True meaning of happiness."
Character
@Calpurnia L who SAID THAT? ... so the only public service you recognize is volunteer work? ... are you an idiot or a troll pretending to be an idiot?
@tripleheshy it means he has a skilled job unlike you.
@Calpurnia L Yes how dare he forge his own interests and how dare his father graft to earn his money and do with it what he wishes you absolute tosser.
Nice to see that despite all the fame and fortune he managed to raise a decent person and not some entitled junky
Work ethic runs strong in his family.
I cannot imagine any off spring of the boss being anything but a decent human being
Like you
Yes
Yep, you said it. Guess it is called a good parents example.(and of course, the nature of the "kid").
Everyone giving the Boss credit for raising a humble son. His mother had a huge hand in that humbleness. Refreshing to see a non entitled celebrity child
His mom showed sweetness and kindness. Kudos to Patti and Good 🍀 Luck and safety to Sam!
@Lacey G The story is about Sam Springsteen. It’s rude and unnecessary to make comments about his sister.
The Boss has always been working man.
And boy he is the spitting image of his mother!
Exactly especially since he probably was away from home a lot
Nice to see a celebrities kid who actually turned out to do some good,.
Good upbringing
@@gerryhartnett7389 Exactly right. We are all products of our upbringing.
"Son take a good look around....This is your home town"
The next time Bruce sings I'm On Fire, he'll hear a fire truck and Sam and his crew will be there within seconds.🔥🔥🔥
well to be far there are quite a few
Wow. Kid never has to work a day in his life, so he decides to serve the public. Great job by this young man.
@Hound19745 Ivanka Trump does more good for ppl in one day than the likes of you will do in your lifetime. Stop being so sanctimonious.
@Benghali In Platforms You do know that Springsteen's daughter rides horses full time, you only get that sort of lifestyle with privileged parents.
@Benghali In Platforms You're not making sense to me. What do you mean by Springsteen took another white man's job? Are you saying that sons of wealthy parents should never take ordinary jobs in society?
And what about racial quotas? What are you saying exactly? Are you saying there should be racial quotas for white ppl in the NBA, for example?
@Benghali In Platforms I see, I understand what you're saying & I wouldn't disagree with you. I don't know NY personally but it doesn't surprise me to hear what you're saying, in fact I can very well believe it.
If I misunderstood you then I apologize.
Benghali In Platforms How about thousands of poor Asian and black kids who got leaped over by unqualified whites? I have volunteered for fire departments, a lot of it still depend on knowing people to even get your foot in the door as a volunteer!
Much respect, to the kid and to Bruce and his wife as parents. Very refreshing.
He would never have to work a day but instead chose one of the toughest jobs there is.
Why he never has to work. Some people with rich dads actually have to work for their money
He was Born in The USA ! He is Father Dindnt tell Him ? The Difference BURN vs BORN ?
His Father ! Sorry Folks
respect
@Joe Devola Has your anger & hostility served you well in life?
For once a kid from a (self-made) rich family, who doesn't become arrogant and throws around with money. Good parenting. If I were rich I would also keep my children financially tight to teach them that money doesn't come from nothing.
...and your chicks aren't free.
@@kenton6098 he said money FROM nothing which is different than money FOR nothing
Money does come from nothing, Jerome Powell justs adds figures to a spreadsheet.
Not necessarily....sometimes kids do well, in spite of the parents..... but obviously Bruce is one proud dad! Lol
The boss and mom are obviously great parents and instilled important values into their son.
Great job. Sure beats working on the highway
Or down at the car wash where all it ever does is rain
@@remoevans2793
Ok, I thought I was the only one who caught that. Kudos!
P.S. "Downbound train" is my favourite track off that album.
@@vincepurpura8905 oh I got it.
He looks like his dad....also, what a Springsteen thing to be, a Jersey firefighter
It's a shame the refinery closed, otherwise he'd be working there
Look again.....looks like his mom!
The lumber yard, steel mill, race car driver or car wash attendant would've also sufficed.
It's perfect. Bruce ought to write a song about it, if he hasn't already.
I think he looks exactly like his mom!!
Seems like a very humble young man. I wish him the best of luck 👍🏻
Yes, he had no other choice. So many times he heard his father singing " I'm on fire "
:)
😁
Don’t quit your day job.
Harmo Herbo You crack me up big time.😀👏😀👏
Lol!!
Wow. Finally a child of a music god actually standing on his own two feet. His mum and dad should be super proud. What a boy. Well done Sam. Amazing!! 🎉🎉
Hamlet plenty others do too, all the ones I’ve ever been friends with have, but you don’t hear about those most of the time because the media isn’t interested in success and normal lives, they want scandals...
"god"...please, do tell.
Someone asks Sam how his house caught on fire
Sam: You can’t start a fire without a spark
It's "You can't start A fire..." ;-P Sorry, but I've been singing this song along too often. However, great comment :)
Rebecca Wilhelmsdottir oh sorry, didn’t notice. thanks for the correction!
When they kiss.. uuuuh... Fire
You was right the first time DJDeL1034 it its You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancin' in the dark
Am on fire
Springsteen has never forgotten who he is or where he’s from.
Excellent comment about Sam Springsteen. I feel the same way about his Dad . . . "the Boss".
911 - What is The Emercency ? My Cat is Up in The Tree - Could You send The Bosson to Get it Down ?
Truthful
I heard somewhere once he was from New Jersey 😂😂
He has forgotten what country made it possible for him to be so successful. Springsteen is an American traitor.
Stay safe Sam.
I met your Father a few times and I know he’s immensely proud of you.
From a firefighting family in Newark I’m proud of you too.
You can't fake integrity, you can't buy class, the Boss must be so proud, I know I would be.
Its so refreshing to see this young man from a celebrity father be a firefighter. Shows how Bruce and his wife instilled good values in him.
Wow. He could have taken the easy way out and been supported by dad but he chose to be a workin class man.
A true human being.
Well done Springsteens!
Well, he'll always have the family money to fall back on. It's not quite the same as somebody who has to support four kids on a firefighter's salary. But it's commendable for what it is.
Bruce looking good...he'lll always keep this sparkling youth in his eyes.
Much Much respect for Sam and especially that of Mom and Dad for doing it right !
That guy has real class. Well done you and all the guys and gals who went through training....kudos!
It's nice to see a man that could have done anything else, choose a career path that let's him HELP people. I love it! Helping people. That's a great position to be in. 😇👏
That's what the children of the wealthy used to do; they would take positions that required service and offered modest pay as a means of giving back. Not so much anymore.
Of all the celebrity kids, he's the toughest of them all.
he’s tougher than the rest
Thats what you call living like a normal person. He could live an easy life, but he's chosen to put his life on the line to help other people. That shows how good his parents were in raising him. Well done Sam Springsteen 👏
This is beyond cool! It's not like he needs the money but he clearly has a sense of duty and self value. PARENTING! That's all it is my friends...
Stinky Pete absolutely
Celebrity kid doing well. It doesn’t get any better.
Maybe it will help reconnect hid dad to the people who listen to his music and not the rich liberal set...
Warped green-eyed hatred for someone starting at the bottom of a public service job. When he could have any lifestyle without lifting a finger.
Them and us..... Your lifelong excuse fore being a loser.
@@jerryfalwellsociety Based on his kid, I think dad is doing just fine
@@loosilu hmmm, after some of his comments I'm not so sure anymore, Lucie. But yeh, you're right - great kid. Maybe we have mum to thank for that one!? lol
Springsteen is a class act, a decent person and fantastic musician. Nice to see his son become like his father.
Bruce has such class, you know his kids would be brought up right
This choked me up.. What a fine young man.. Son of one of my favorite poets.. ❤
Bruce and patti were THE onstage romance of the eighties. It's nice to know they've grown to be such a great family.
Finally a celebrity kid who is NOT on drugs!
Congratulations.
That you know of.
@@augustagajoshestep
I'm pretty sure they have to be tested randomly. Considering the vehicles they drive, equipment they use, wouldn't want a stoner or cokehead driving a hook and ladder would we?
This just proves how Awesome Bruce and Patty are . Thier son taking a job that is not easy, hard work, long hours....but rewarding!
They should be proud by rasing a son that get it! He could be a wasted trust fund baby
They raised some good kids. His daughter has been attempting to qualify for the Olympics and has been on the United States Equestrian Team.
I hope and pray God will watch over him and protect him - he’s a treasure
like every other fire fighter even those that haven't a famous dad and mum
What about the other ones?
Amén and Amén. And for allí the firefighters un the whole World in the Powerful Name of JESÚS of Nazareth, I beg you Father GOD!! AMÉN AND AMÉN. ALWAYS. THANKS!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This story made my heart smile. What a cool young man who would rather be unselfish and help others - putting his life on the line even - instead partying 24/7 and showing off his fine cars and latest gear purchased with his dad's riches. Bruce Springsteen and his wife did a great job parenting this young man. Awesome story.
Mom is well known too. Congrats to the parents and rest of family.
Best of luck to him and all the grads. Thank you all for your service.
I suspect Bruce's supreme album, 'The Rising', with so many songs built around the tragedy of 9/11, including of course the title track, 'My City of Ruins', 'Empty Sky', 'You're Missing' and so on, together with the unbelievable bravery of the fire fighters and dignity of the bereaved, had a major influence on young Sam around 18 years ago. And, of course, Bruce with his sheer humanity was not going to stand in his son's way. Good on you Sam ... and of course his parents, Bruce and Patti.
I am sure Evan and Jessica had some influence on him as well!
God bless him and his fellow graduates. What a fine young man.
My Dad nearly died when a 6-floor building collapsed on him fighting a fire in 6° weather in the middle of winter in Belleville, NJ, back when I was in high school years ago. In a full-body cast for 8 months, 3rd degree burns, broken back, devastated ankles, etc.
How he survived is beyond me: Grace of God, unbelievable will, lots of prayers, heroic firemen who dug him out of the rubble. Only one hand was visible beneath the debris. His helmet helped save him. Miraculously survived and bounced back the best one could. Spent the next 42+ years in bad pain, particularly from the feet that were severely damaged.
Stay safe, Sam, and all Firefighters out there. You are among the true heroes of our world, just as the first responders of today are in the coronavirus crisis we've been dealt.
Your parents are truly proud of you, just as I've always been of my Dad. My Father was also a P.O.W. in WWII, Battle of the Bulge, weighing something like 78 pounds when rescued from Camp K in Germany. No person should ever suffer so much in one lifetime.
I miss him, my Mom, and older Brother Bill, who both also went through heartbreaking suffering as well, and will forever have an emptiness in my heart from their loss.
Fill your life with all the Love you can. It's all that matters.
RJB: Your Dad sounds like a true hero. He went through terrible pain but lived a long life with great respect.
@@JStarStar00
Thank you. He truly was a tough guy. Mild demeanor, but what he didn't go through.
On top of what I previously mentioned, he had colon cancer, skin cancer, a quadruple bypass (and hepatitis from the blood transfusion during that surgery) that eventually failed, resulting in two additional stents, gall bladder removal (not the through the navel type, but the cut open your chest surgery, much more intense),, and pneumonia 5x after receiving the vaccine, and was ultimately intubated for over a month before we finally let him go.
Some of the advice we were receiving from his doctors was terrible. Finally, a doctor not connected to his case called us aside and told us the truth. The man suffered terribly in his life. He was 10 times the man I'll ever be.
Thank you for your thoughts.
Beautiful post
RJB
God Bless him..We here in Jersey are so proud of him...
This is typical Springsteen humbleness and earthy Ness his farther is a music icon and legend yet so humble his son is very much the same way it just goes to show you can be a huge star and still keep your feet on the ground this has rubbed off on Sam Springsteen all credit to him
Bruce seems like such a down to earth man and caring father and his son should be very proud of himself for his own accomplishments
Guy’s set to inherit millions and chooses to do a hard dangerous job to help others. That’s real special.
Wow, it's refreshing to see a celebrities kid be so down to earth.
He looks almost exactly like his father. The difference is that his father is on fire on the stage and he fights fire outside the stage.
He`ll be able to put his dad out now !(Im on fire!) lol
I like it haha
Ray Morse. 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Nice kid and nice mom and she had his back when they asked him questions.
Not surprising that the son of the greatest and most authentic blue collar Rock star would be just a regular guy.
Dad : I'm On Fire
Son : Don't worry
LOL
...maybe I'am proud for him...Good guy! How many famous sons do this job?...I pride about he...Good luck!
Well done to him, his dad must be very proud as he seems to have raised a fine young man!👍🏽
How wonderful, his handsome, brave, selfless, down to earth. Go job mom and dad, love it , were lucky to have Sam to protect us, great guy! Impressive.
I guess Sam will be hit up by his co-workers for ticket to see dad's shows. lol :)
What a wonderful young man who came from great parents. They did a real fine job raising a good man.
Pretty impressive taking a job like that when you have you have the choice of doing anything you want
Or doing nothing at all. Like so many Celebes kids. Kudos to this kid👍👍
Congratulations to the Springsteen family. They seem like good folks.
Congratulations buddy, wishing you and your fellow graduates a safe run!~John
Great news! I am happy for the Bruce Springsteen family! His son grew up to be a wonderful young man.
Stayed true to their community roots. Real proud Americans. Much respect.
JERSEY BOYS real Americans.
That's one of the coolest things I've seen in several days. God-bless him I am sure his parents are very proud
Great instincts, avoid the press lol.
I'm glad to see the young man become a firefighter. I know his parents are proud. My son has been a police officer for 18 years. I'm proud but you do worry. Firefighters & police officers run towards the trouble that the rest of us run away from.
Siempre amare a este hombre, su musica, talento don de gente, su hijo es igualito felicidades a la familia Springsteen ♥️🇵🇪
He might have been really proud of his son. Despite all the fame and money, his kid chose being a normal citizen.
Bruce: Ooooooh I’m on Fire.
Sam: I got this.
Speaks so, so well about him as an honorable young man but also so impressed with his parents for raising a son like that. Well done!
Wow, I didn't realize that Sam looks a lot like his dad Bruce!! Congrats to the Springsteen FAMILY!-🤗
I can't imagine being bruce springsteen son. The pressure must be unbearable. I'm glad sam has taken his own route in life and is doing what he wants to do. Congratulations 🎊
Cant start a fire without a spark. Welcome brother
His parents did an amazing job keeping him grounded and humble. Serving others instead of himself. Wishing him the best.
This was great to see. A very proud mom and dad...even if it is the Boss. And one of the most fulfilling jobs there is.
Father and son serving their community shows Springsteen family values
He's not just working for a living, he's a bonafided Hero... They don't call firefighters the Bravest for nothing? Good luck kid, may you have a long career, and God bless you for your service

Modest like his Ol' man. Congratulations Sam, May you have a long Career & Stay Safe. New York's proud of you, too.
Class act. Humble guy just doing what he wanted to do.
I know his parents are proud! He smiles just like his dad.
It says a huge amount about the family and how they raised their son.
He looks like the boss.God bless him.
I have met Bruce at the gym and sometimes around town he is a very down to earth person. Not stuck up snob. He will take his time to speak with you and pose for a selfie with you. My son went to the same high school as Bruce and whenever I went to the Boro highschool I would walk by his picture on the wall in awe that someone that went to this same high school made a name for himself,
Love it ! He looks like he's Bruce's son for sure looks like they raised a great kid ,
I'm moving there and the first time they have "Bring Your Dad to Work Day", I'm torching my house!
MaryIBEW Haha, may it never happen. I was married to a firefighter and joined the 'club' of firefighter's wives who nearly burnt the house down. I was 9 months pregnant at the time and our daughter may have been born with my brown eyes but she has flame red hair. Appropriate. Firefighters rule, they run towards trouble when the rest of us are running away. Stay safe, Sam.

Wait, Bruce Springsteen is from NJ?! I had no idea...
and Steve Van Zandt (guitarist from the E street band) was once a consigliere to one of the biggest mob bosses in New Jersey.
it's funny how life goes..
Sam seems a nice guy. Wishing him well.
One day, he hopes to transfer and working on the streets of Philadelphia. He did very well on his exams. The instructors said he was on fire. During the graduation ceremony, the power failed and they were all dancing in the dark. One of his fellow class mates asked him if he was an immigrant with that funny name of his. He informed him that he was born in the USA.
Good job Sam. Congratulations.
Watching from Ireland. Love Bruce Springsteen, but my goodness what a kid him and his wife raised right there! Wonderful parenting ❤ God bless and keep them all
Bravo. Someone took his Dad's songs to heart. Just awesome and hope all in his profession keep safe.
I don’t get this kind of information here Japan.
Even I didn’t know Bruce and his family are now living in New Jersey.
So I am so happy to see this video. Thank you.
Brother as you know he is Jersey boy as can be!
He's been living in NJ for decades since he married Patti. They raised their family in Rumson, NJ.
Congarts Sam welcome to a special family be safe you should be proud!!!!!!
He reminds me of captaint Hadley from The Shawshank Redemption, although Bruce's son looks like a genuine guy.
R.I.P. To those brave New york 911 firefighters ..And all who died on that day ...This man joined a very special group ...
Congratulations! A down-to-earth offspring from down-to-earth parents! They seem like a wonderful family! And he looks just like his mother!!
It’s REALLY sad that instead of congratulating Sam, people come here and criticize his Dad? I will NEVER understand how people can be mean and nasty toward someone they’ve never even met in life. You’d think people could be civil at least once in their life.
Bruce so proud hes smiling like Tony Bennett. 😁
Speaks volumes about his very grounded father & good parenting. Good luck to him.
